  • Really great playing. The tuning gives an authentic old time country feel. Until you spoke, I thought you were american. Bravo!

  • @milowagon Hi Many thanks for your kind comment on my playing. This is my first time on a Reso,as for just over 60 years Iv'e been playing on Twin neck electric steel & this Reso felt like a big pile of wood on my lap but great fun to play. kind regards, Alan

  • delightful! and I'm very happy to hear "Red Opu" - such a great song, and so underplayed.

  • very nice playing. Lovely rich tone and a good tune too.

    Nice one mate.

Looking at the tuning you used, is the D string the the thickest? (A down to E?: D upto G#?: G upto B?: B upto C#?:)

What gauge strings are you using to achieve the string pitches?

    Happy New Year to you.

    Best Wishes

  • Hi zeroidking. As this is my first time on reso lap steel i have usedthe same string guages as on my twin neck electric. From the lowest note gauges are- D .034 E.030 G#.20 B.018 C#.016 E.014 I use D'Addario from String Mail, single strings on the web. D&E are the only wound strings. Alan

  • Hi Andy, the tuning is called an E 13th from the bottom string D E G# B C# E. The guitar is standard except for a change of strings.

  • Nice playing, is that standard dobro tuning ? nice guitar too, just checked the price and may get one, it the guitar you're playing standard ; no upgrades ?, regards, Andy
