  • Thanks for posting...you may want to prepare your remarks in text form and them read them to cut out the "uhh"s. Would make it more professional. Also, it's "oriented" not "orientated". You're mispronouncing...grammar fail.

Other than that, it's really good. Thanks again for posting.

  • Are you Stevie from Malcolm in the Middle? just kidding man, great video...

  • xcode like app but for windows???

  • @CodCadets No such thing. You can only program objective-c on a Mac operating system. That or emulate the mac os on a PC.

  • how old are you ?

  • obj-c is actually a strict superset of c

  • This is an excellent tutorial...great overview, thanks for making this!

  • @DarkBeats00 No problem!

  • Can you still get those programs for free?

I tried to get it but it says i have to pay.

  • good

  • can you pls louder your voice..this video is interesting..

  • @joelcalidguid The microphone was set on a low switch, but all of the other videos are normal volume.

  • You didn't clarify the object oriented part. Wont be a bad idea if you can describe that with the peanut butter thing. I mean how will you program the sandwich with object oriented approach...

  • why are we whispering ?

  • @EvolutionXEngine The microphone was set on a low switch, but all of the other videos are normal volume.

  • @macandcomputerhelp hi i click the link to get to the xcode download, but when i fill out the form i get stuck on the last question, Phone: , there four boxes and i dont now what to put in the boxes

  • Macandcomputerhelp

You put together a good tutorial. However, speak to us as if you are in a classroom.

In this tutorial you sound as if you are under your bed and you don't want your parents to know you are on the computer.

We need your expertise. Speak up!

    Tim

  • @basalduat The microphone was set on a low switch, but all of the other videos are normal volume. Also, I admit this one was a bit rough, but check out my latest lessons and you will see they are much better.

  • Do i need to learn C before i learn Objective C?

  • @GEMASPIRE Absolutely not. If you already know C it would help you learn Objective-C, but you definitely don't need to know C inorder to learn Objective-C.

  • good video...

  • hello, can i know what are the areas of application of objective-c?

  • good video!! not sure about the description of O-O, but nice try! lol

  • i love this video! i totally do not know anything about programming and have no experience at all. this is a real step by step guide! goin to watch your next video now hoping to learn more about making iphone apps through your videos thanks!

  • why the fuck are you whispering?

  • This is perfect. You make it easy to understand. Please continue with these =)

  • has anyone made xcode in xcode?

  • you should buy an amplifier~~ i mean it

  • is it necessary to have an intel based mac or can you just use any regular pc??

  • Comment removed

  • Your voice sound like just out of bed.

  • The explanation on Object Oriented is the worst I've ever heard, please, read a little bit of what you're talking about before making a tutorial, I know what OOP is but I don't think anyone will have understood what you mean by Object-Oriented (not orientated) programming with your explanation.

  • Thanks man these videos will be a great help for me in my studies.

you really know how to make it simple . KEEP IT UP

  • Thanks now i know how to make a peanutbutterjelly sandwich :D

  • @pdiddyphiIip HAHA, no problem!

  • Thanks for the tutorial; only thing I'm not sure about is that Obj-C is a subset of C. I'm pretty sure it's the other way around--that C is a subset of Obj-C, or Obj-C is a superset of C. In other words, you can use C code in an Obj-C environment, but not necessarily the other way around.

  • @12345whatev You sir are right.

  • thanks for this. nice that someone is keeping it simple for the newcomers.

  • It's object oriented programming, not object orientated... Why should anyone believe anything you have to say when you don't even know how to say that correctly?

  • if i make an app using Xcode, will it work on both ipod and iphone or will i have make twice (once each device)?????//

  • @MadAssGamers No, if you make an iPhone App it works for the iTouch also. It evens works for the iPad, although you'll have to remake it to have a true iPad App.

  • I can hardly hear you...

  • Hi, great tutorial. where can i find lessons 2 - 10?

  • Object Orientation sucks because it takes more computer power than procedural(not object oriented). You can achieve object orientation in procedural using functions. Functions work exactly like object orientation in procedural.

If you make error in Object Orientation you can crash everything to.

  • @ignas2526 Wow, what a nonsense.

  • Well done. Tx

  • Thanks a lot for this tutorials

  • great tutorial. What are the minimum OS requirements. I am a PC guy so not too familiar with macs. thx

  • where do i find the x code and stuff if i have to snow leopard disc?

  • You, sir, are awesome! you really helped me with several things i couldn't figure out.

    THANKS!

  • Downloaded a book on this and I was completely lost, your tutorial was easily explained and I can tell already it will be extremely helpful to have video go along with this. Can't wait until i can start designing games for the iphone, thanks for the first step on that road.

  • you mean its procedural, not "not object oriented". and its oriented not "orientated"

  • Great video; I am going to have my son start watching various you tube videos on objective C!

However, your OO explanation was a bit weak. However, maybe it should be kept simple :)

  • so basicly this was a MAC ONLY...?

  • nooby question .. xcode is only for mac ? :P

  • @keko4321 Yes it is.

  • @keko4321

Actually not a stupid question, for C can be compiled across many platforms. From what I can gather you can write cocoa applications on Windows (aswell as Linux), but since the framework is specific to OS X it will not run in windows or linux. It's almost like when 3rd party iPhone devs make apps by using toolchain (err sumthing). They can write the software in Linux, but can only execute it on the phone... I believe.

  • Thanks for this series of tutorials.. Great Job!!!..

  • speak up!!!!!!!!!!!!

great tutorial tho, i got extra-loud speakers :)

  • I thought Objective-C was a superset of C, not a subset.

  • great introduction video.

one correction: Objective-C is a superset of C, not a subset.

And try to amplify the sound, it's too low

  • @hwangroman Thanks for the correction. Yeah it is, but the videos now are louder.

  • @hwangroman audio hijack pro, have to use it on lots of poorly gain staged browser based stuff...works rad, free demo, full license 15 'murican <3

  • I look forward to learning more about objective-c from you.

  • You should amplify the audio, it's too low... (just a suggestion)

  • @MPX4132 I support your suggestion, but this time, I not only gave you thumbs up, but also, posted a comment that confirms my decision.

  • @MPX4132 - i second that suggestion.

  • @MPX4132 Yeah I know, when I recorded this video, my microphone was on a low setting. Every other Objective-C Tutorial I have is waaaaaaayyyyyyy better.

  • great vid mate, Maybe I have been wrong my whole life but isn't it Object - OR- I -EN-TED not orienTAted :)...not complaining, just had to point it out. I also couldn't agree more that everyone just shows you code and says type this rather than explaining WHY I am typing it. Keep it up.

  • @synergy989 Haha, nope pretty sure you are right :)

  • Really good description of objective c and easy to understand thanks

  • Cheers for this. I'm going to want to learn this and if you can explain it that well and that simply I have high hopes.

  • thanks!

  • it's great but i have one question: can i programe for iphone on windows and if i can HOW?

  • No, you have to have a Mac.

  • GNU GCC Has a Objective-C compiler .... but for the IPhone i can't help !

  • you can try dragonfire sdk but its not the same as the real iphone sdk

  • ok... tnx

  • YES YOU CAN- Dragonfire SDK, as long as you know C++

  • @KaptanPuppet Xcode works on any computer. You need to download the xcode for your system that your using

  • Man you are pretty damn smart. Im just learning this shit and i'm about to pull my fucking hair out. (sorry for the language).

    I'm subscribing.

  • You're a genius, please continue with these video's there helping me out alot!! ;)

  • Same thx

  • great!

  • nice

  • lol really basic for 7:30 mins

    keep making these
