Thanks for posting...you may want to prepare your remarks in text form and them read them to cut out the "uhh"s. Would make it more professional. Also, it's "oriented" not "orientated". You're mispronouncing...grammar fail.
Other than that, it's really good. Thanks again for posting.
many thanks man!! very helpful!! I'm just starting with xcode and this answered many of my questions..and its only the first in the sires!!! great job and very well structured video
If you have Snow Leopard installed on your computer and you used a disc to install it, where would you find the tools that are included in the SDK? I would really appreciate feedback and great job on the video it was very informative and had great presentation
@jptomberlin Hi! If you still need help for programming, e-mail me at antoinetoto32@yahoo.com.
I will help u for free and send u sample code, apps, or projects that you can play around with :) **I WILL NOT SPAM YOU** (because I'm nice and I love to help!) Contact me :D
You didn't clarify the object oriented part. Wont be a bad idea if you can describe that with the peanut butter thing. I mean how will you program the sandwich with object oriented approach...
@macandcomputerhelp hi i click the link to get to the xcode download, but when i fill out the form i get stuck on the last question, Phone: , there four boxes and i dont now what to put in the boxes
@basalduat The microphone was set on a low switch, but all of the other videos are normal volume. Also, I admit this one was a bit rough, but check out my latest lessons and you will see they are much better.
@GEMASPIRE Absolutely not. If you already know C it would help you learn Objective-C, but you definitely don't need to know C inorder to learn Objective-C.
i love this video! i totally do not know anything about programming and have no experience at all. this is a real step by step guide! goin to watch your next video now hoping to learn more about making iphone apps through your videos thanks!
The explanation on Object Oriented is the worst I've ever heard, please, read a little bit of what you're talking about before making a tutorial, I know what OOP is but I don't think anyone will have understood what you mean by Object-Oriented (not orientated) programming with your explanation.
Thanks for the tutorial; only thing I'm not sure about is that Obj-C is a subset of C. I'm pretty sure it's the other way around--that C is a subset of Obj-C, or Obj-C is a superset of C. In other words, you can use C code in an Obj-C environment, but not necessarily the other way around.
It's object oriented programming, not object orientated... Why should anyone believe anything you have to say when you don't even know how to say that correctly?
@MadAssGamers No, if you make an iPhone App it works for the iTouch also. It evens works for the iPad, although you'll have to remake it to have a true iPad App.
Object Orientation sucks because it takes more computer power than procedural(not object oriented). You can achieve object orientation in procedural using functions. Functions work exactly like object orientation in procedural.
If you make error in Object Orientation you can crash everything to.
Downloaded a book on this and I was completely lost, your tutorial was easily explained and I can tell already it will be extremely helpful to have video go along with this. Can't wait until i can start designing games for the iphone, thanks for the first step on that road.
Actually not a stupid question, for C can be compiled across many platforms. From what I can gather you can write cocoa applications on Windows (aswell as Linux), but since the framework is specific to OS X it will not run in windows or linux. It's almost like when 3rd party iPhone devs make apps by using toolchain (err sumthing). They can write the software in Linux, but can only execute it on the phone... I believe.
@MPX4132 Yeah I know, when I recorded this video, my microphone was on a low setting. Every other Objective-C Tutorial I have is waaaaaaayyyyyyy better.
great vid mate, Maybe I have been wrong my whole life but isn't it Object - OR- I -EN-TED not orienTAted :)...not complaining, just had to point it out. I also couldn't agree more that everyone just shows you code and says type this rather than explaining WHY I am typing it. Keep it up.
