I am visiting canada in one week and i need to take a tour in the university. Should i ask the university if any tours are available? What should i do?
how much mark do student have to get in the 6 U course from secondary school to apply into university of toronto? someone answear this question please, I really wants to get into university of toronto, i don't wants to go to college.
The problem is that people just want the cake on their plate without having it cut. Well, you have to cut it first to it; same is with u of t. No professor is going to go you and say, "Hey person, need help?". University is not a high school, university is a real life. If you do not want to be raped by U of T, get a vaseline or just do not get raped whatsoever by working hard.
Most people fail this university because of a ridiculous grading policy they have and insane difficulty of exams. All these videos are baits and bullshits, so don't take them. Those dumb enough to go there, usually get kicked out with their tuition LOST.

Just seeing some of these comments makes me homesick. This video is much more optimistic than realistic. U of T can be tough, but so is real life. They prepare you for it.
@poopoolar U of T can be very tough, but i miss every minute of it. it's a great school where if you put in your effort and you are a capable student, you will be able to experience the ultimate college experience
@grovestreet33 maybe in arts and science, but I don't really think any of that is true for engineering. The TA comment is the closest to being true though.
@SeanNijjar im guessing ur in engineering? you guys are SO full of ur selfs. how can you say that science programs like physics, math, chemistry and biological branches are somehow "easy"? basically u guys are also studying science yet you say arts and SCIENCE is not as hard as your program. how can you judge if u were never in that program
@hamaz I don't see how my comment was high of myself. I was responding to a comment that made remarks about U of T. I was stating that, at least in the faculty of applied science and engineering, the comments he made weren't true.
comments
400 person class size (not true in engineering)
no interaction with profs (not true in engineering)
no one gives a damn about you (not true in engineering)
most TAs are shit (depends on the course and year)
@hamaz Chemistry Specialist class of 2009, you are right, there's very few ways to judge. But we have to give it to the engineers for taking 30+hrs of class/week :D
Classes aren't for intimate discussions. Classes are for lectures. In fact, the two words are synonymous in this sense. Intimate discussions and conversations in any relevant academia take place in tutorials and seminars, most of which are compulsory. I'm working on my undergraduate degree in the A&C program and I'm pleased to say that even the 'lowly' kids like us are taken seriously and are able (and encouraged) to speak with faculty.
And winter is depressing whether you're in school or not.
interaction with prof: it's your choice, if you try approaching profs, they are the most friendly people you will ever meet. I had class of 800+ at UofT, still some of my profs and i talked on first name basis
no one gives a damn about you? .... because you don't make yourself heard! opportunities are not handed to you, you must earn them

ppl who see this video do not realise what's bad about u of t
they dnt tell u:
- classes have 400 ppl
- u almost never interact with ur prof
- no one give a damn about u, and would like it if u just dropped out
- most TA's are shit
-U pay so much tution fee as an undergrad, and you get around 5% of that value in return in terms of reaources used eg labs
- they dnt show u the pictures where its snowing and ppl are walking around depressed.

how are there discussions in classes of over 400 people?
TheJawsusNSexmanShow 2 years ago
400? Try 1,500!
It's truly not as bad as you would originally think.
If you simply concentrate on the lecture, you don't even notice everyone else. You get used to it!
