  • Great footage,

Btw the ammunition was LIVE my grandfather was there and i remember him telling me how they had to arm planes and other munitions. Reason being as the video says TEST what would happen.

Its funny but, They dick around with nuclear weapons for the last god knows how long causing detrimental effects yet they go after bullshit wmds i mean cheap oil in iraq. So its ok for them to have had their turn but not for anyone else? Like every goverment i suppose its completly different to

  • @Steve211Ucdhihifvshi The problem is countries like North Korea and Iran have absolutely no idea how to handle nuclear technology, they would rather strap a warhead to a missile and shoot it towards the US then conduct any actual "research" It's like handing a kid a loaded shotgun and tellin him to go play out in the yard.

  • This footage is amazing. I hope to dive that site someday.

  • and the Yamato was the largest battleship ever built :/

  • Enjoy your radiation diving

  • @cerviche101 water acts as a great barrier against radiation.

  • @cerviche101 The currents have cleared all the radiation. Though, the ships are still radiated they are not harmful. It's actually safe to walk on the island now (there is also civilization)

  • @zoidberg3009 I stand corrected, thanks bro

  • What that ant is doing on this movie in 9:37 ???

  • So many have died of lung cancer in the last hundred years not realising it was because of the inhalation of radioactive particles.

  • well in school this isnt what i was tought think mgiht bring this up with my history teacher

  • none of them were fueled they didnt bother doing that as they were towed there. yes the carriers had planes on them and dud munitions.

  • THREE NUKES WERE LET OFF the first one did nothing the second one exloded mid fleet destoying the ship it was on and one other then they se one off undernieth them

and btw there is no live amunition its a test why waist VALUBLE AMUNITION that could destoy a ship when ur checking to see if the nuke itsself destroys any ships on its own... dont be dumb they put duds in to check what effect it had on weopons cannons mounts u know that sorta thing

  • THREE NUKES WERE LET OFF the first one did nothing the second one exloded mid fleet destoying the ship it was on and one other then they se one off undernieth them

  • 2.38 shark but not much for it to feed on seems funny how theres not many fish about

and and ant lol nice vid though

  • 2.38 shark but not much for it to feed on seems funny how theres not many fish about

  • Im allways amazed how many experts there are on youtube! You would think these people would put there knowledege and suporting sources into writing somewere more credible. Oh wait ...

  • How can people be allowed to dive that deep? I thought 30 or 40 metres was the deepest you're meant to go?!

  • This like all nuclear detonations is fucking retarded and if put to a vote by the public would never get the green light. Here are some interesting facts for you to shock over. We all saw the long lasting devistation from the early low yield nucs used against japan, we see the mutilations and horrors from chernobyl. There have been over 2000 recorded military nuclear bomb tests worldwide, try counting to 2000 to put things into perspective. Through the food chain and migrations we get it back

  • The Nagato was perhaps at some point the largest battleship of the Imperial Japanese Fleet, but do not forget the Yamoto, she was the biggest ever.....l

  • I am speechless. There were nuclear weapons scientist who felt that there should be a mandatory nuclear weapons test ever 10 years, and that all the Nations of the Earth should attend it. This would be better. Have the world's leaders dive down among these hulks and contemplate the raw power of atomic weapons! It's horrible and beautiful at the same time? It's technology and art meeting Nature... I am totally moved. What would seem initially as waste, turned into something for the future.

  • I'm a diver and i approve of this video

  • bikini bottom anyone

  • Comment removed

  • well done thanks for the upload!

  • If anyone is wondering the fish here, and the Islands vegetation are non edible do to radiation. thanks to the Rich DuMbies.

  • Regular air?

  • That's what happened to the Saratoga? Such an inglorious end for a ship that saw so much fighting. Not sank by enemy action but by people sitting in the Pentagon with a new toy to play with.

  • Comment removed

  • @cobaltfog: Well, you could be shaving with it instead, as so many WWII ships wound up. A few are still upstream of the Golden Gate, slowly rusting away.

  • i like this song :P ill be playing it when the world starts to end lol

  • melodie ?

  • Bloody well made film.

  • amazeing

  • Nice Video It must have been a great dive, but what about residual radiation ?

  • @Joss682

reduced to minimum or normal unharmful. usually it disperses after 50 yrs, dunno what or if and effect water has on the matter

  • @Joss682: None to speak of there.

  • Does anybody know what this lovely music is?

  • @Mrbiggerjobs1000: Barber's Adagio for Strings. See (hear!) watch?v=L2PWoil_5O8

  • Wow thx for the vid!!! whats the name of this song?

  • @Alejwolf

It´s the theme from the movie PLATOON. Song name: Samuel Barber - Adagio for strings.

  • Great video very informative and clear thanks for posting

  • the nuke is still underwater in one piece.

  • Than You to upload this Beaute Dive.

  • *_*

  • Ant inside the underwater case at 9:25 :D

  • Nice video.

  • Lols the Nagato biggest in the world? right...talk that to the yamato...O and after yamato sank the Iowa would surely take its place as biggest... Nagato was amazing though..

  • listen well. "biggest captured by the yanks"

  • Lmao, lols. Well agreed on that. But at least it wasn't scrapped, I mean scrapped would be more of a waste..

  • Actually, I think they said "Once the biggest battleship in the world" if you listen carefully.

  • actually it says "once the biggest"

  • @Tyco200 the yamato didn't sink the uss Iowa dumb ass

  • @Tyco200 moron the Yamato never sank the Iowa the Yamato ran away from american destoyers at Samar in 1944. Nagato was crap also ran away from americans at Samar and her sister ship Mutsu blew up by herself

  • sweet

  • what a waste but then i guess they would have scrapped them if this did not happen

  • Fantastic video

  • As the divers are on the USS Lampson(?) they appear to be in danger from unexploded ordinance, namely torpedos still in the ship's tubes. Does anyone else see this??

  • @jwpatt1st as you hear on the video - they are aware of that.

  • Haunting, beautiful images, depressing context

  • Yes this was NOT the biggest,Yamoto was...But at the time of its sinking it was the biggest..

  • Not only did they fuck up the enviorment with the bomb, many of the ships sunk during ww2 are still leaking oil, no goverment will take responsiblility beacuse its in international waters

  • The US government actually "gifted" the wrecks as a tourist resource to the Marshall Islands. Guess they could see that they are a potential ecological time bomb, lots of unexploded ordnance, leaking fuel oil and continued deterioration from corrosion.... This lies with the Marshallese, as they are in their waters....

  • @Swampdog36: Hell, the Arizona is still leaking. Compared to even one tanker leaking, the entire WWII crew is nearly nothing.

  • YAMATO was the biggest BATTLESHIP ever existed.

  • he meant at that time yamato was already sunk

  • your an idiot with your bible crap stfu

  • Maybe its santa claus.

  • @mattmatt115 Hmmm, first of all a reality check is needed. Secondly ... there was great care and concern given at the time. Tests, research, defense, protection, planning, and strategy all play a part in keeping a way of life safe from destruction. A free society, a safe society, a care free people doesn't just happen you lout ... decisions, consequences, lives, blood, toil, mistakes, learning, all have gone into the way of life seen in todays world.

  • @lonewulf44 Care free people? And you assume that i live by those standards? I am a very critical logical thinker, who does not care how easy life is if i just give up a few OTHER peoples way of life. And, a safe society? What is safe about it? We got government giving control of entire swath of the south to a CORPORATION, bringing us genetically fucked foods, vaccinnations with mercury, and an oceanic garbage dump the size of texas to name a few things.. What is so good about that life?

  • @mattmatt115 I think you'll find that if you remove your naive and clouded unappreciative judgmental attitude ... you might see that over all ... our history is the greatest success in the history of nationhood and has promoted, protected, and pojected freedom more than any other. Sigh ... it's MTV no brained peons like this that make me just shake my head for the cry baby , me me me, weak , society that takes the reigns of the free world of the future ...

  • @lonewulf44

Your Projected Democracy, does that include the intentional infection of Mental patients in South America with Syphilis, and other S T D S , without their consent or even the humanity to render, anti biotics ?

American democracy, ? where every where you have trodden you have left chaos and poverty, Destruction, including your hopeless interference in the Middle & Far East

  • @keirfree You should probably read the whole story which includes the little bit lost on most that SA government sanctioned and approved the research. Late 19th and early 20th century medical research a lot of times dangerously used people for better results and it was deemed acceptable to both the guatemalan government and the department conducting the testing. Involuntary research is inhumane, and it was a mistake. But a mistake not uncommon for the time.

  • @lonewulf44 We are talking late 20th Cent for these Infections

Not only did you experiment without Moral constraint on a people that could not even speak English, you carried similiar experiments on USA patients and Inmates of your prisons.

Are you aware that your Torture camps have been exposed, and that the USA Govt faces Court actions against it.

    Philipenes poorest nation in ASEAN

S Korea made the change due to UN intervention the Japanese have been petitioning to get rid of any USA bases

  • @keirfree Not sure what late 20th century things you are talking about then. Speaking or not speaking english had nothing to do with the research. I think the fact that their own guatemalan government worked with the program had something to do with it. And obviously this wasn't some national effort, it was a research program that probably 98.567% of the government didn't even know the name of. And over the course of history, every nation has mistakenly used prisons for the type of thing.

  • @keirfree Lol, hmmmmm ... somehow I must have missed that news story on torture camps friend. But I'm guessing that was right behind the front page story on Bat Boy, and next to Big Foot wedding. As for being the poorest nation in ASEAN ... I think you'll find that that label is a godsend from being a backward 3rd world country fighting for any kind of rights or stability. And ... that UN intervention was about 96% American buddy ... so a toothless UN mandate did nothing without US guns

  • @keirfree And they rightfully should be petitioning to get rid of the USA bases. The nation is on it's feet, it's economy is massive, and should defend itself. The US doesn't need bases in SK. But at the same time, those bases are what kept the North from invading countless times over the past decades while SK became capable of that very defense.

  • @keirfree And it has no bearing on discussions of democracy, nor were there even anti biotics to administer. Hmmmm, chaos and poverty? Lets see ... Japan, Germany,, philippines, South Korea, .... yeah they are not doing too well are they. Oh wait, they all experience miraculous economic and prosperity explosions after the USA was there. Does the US interfere too much? Yes, indeed. Do I hate being the worlds police? Truly. Leave the world too their own devices and defense!

  • @keirfree Lets see what happens when some of the worlds governments don't have to fear any kind of international backlash or UN response. Both of which only carry even the slightest weight due to American military might ... Lets see what happens to the worlds sea lanes if there is no fear of the USN keeping them lawful. In a matter of months you and countless others would be crying at the cost and pleading for some kind of protection and intervention!

  • @lonewulf44 Your military are renowned for rapeing 13 year old Japanese girls, near you bases. You preach God and Aliens both at the same time,

Have you never heard of NATO, it is Nato that is patrolling the sea lanes not the USA

  • @keirfree Hmmmm, I'm pretty sure no sane person would say the US is renowned for such crimes. The US military is a large force with hundreds of thousands of people. In any such group of people you'll find morons and criminals who must be punished. But you'll also find greatness, leadership, compassion, fortitude, and countless other positive traits in humanity. Your label is false and misleading. Lol, NATO? Pray tell me what % of those ships and planes are not American? 5% 7% maybe 10%?

  • @mattmatt115 'destruction and pestilence' ??? Not sure what you are reading but take a quick list of the US actions over the last 100 years and I think you'll see that the positive side dwarfs the mistakes and destruction. You can't nor shouldn't label the entire course and effects of an entire nation over just one example that at best you misrepresent really.

  • @lonewulf44 You have a rather jaundiced view of Nato s capabilities, take the French Fleet, and the Dutch, and the German, Sweden, all rather formidable, in there are 2 Nuke Forces,,, French & British, add to that your USN has seen better days, when did you last build Capital ships. ?

Even this week your only One astronaught, is hitching a Lift on a 40 year old Russian Rocket, launched from East Europe to a Russian space station, that you cannot afford to either build or maintain

  • @keirfree I'm not saying the entire fleets are USN, but obviously everyone knows that NATO and especially the naval side is comprised of almost entirely US forces and US hardware. Sure there are small elements (usually a single ship or 2) but it's the USN that is the backbone and more. CVN-77 was launched and completed just last year friend, 6.2 billion dollar carrier. As for the space program, it's lost it's luster as it lost its way in the 70's. Even after neglect, still worlds best

  • @lonewulf44 If you believe that the USN is leading edge against say Denmark Sweden or Norway, even france then you are Very badly informed.

USN has limited experience in surface warfare other than Obsolute Carriers,

Japan was Not Warned of the A bomb, Japan had that month applied for Peace via the USSR to Washington

My Ref to Iran, in the 1950s, was the CIA effort to dislodge the Elected Prime Minister, then the resultings death murders of Iranians, the CIA setting up later under the Shah ,

  • @keirfree Okay, seems this debate has ventured into the fairy lands of your imagination. You're actually stating that the Danish, Swedish, or Norwegian navies (all of which I'm sure are very fine and respected) are somehow comparable to the USN? And you're stating that the carrier battle group is outdated? And (as is the trend) you are mistaken about the warning. Leaflets were dropped all over Japanese cities informing the cities of the weapon, pleading for peace, and warning the people

  • @lonewulf44

Don't be a total twat ! even when Stalin Died , early 1950 s, there was no

ICBM s capable of M A D only Bombers had Strategic capability, and YES the JAPS tried twice for Peace,

USA was Not Listnening, Read Learn

  • @keirfree You don't need ICDM's to after witnessing the destructions of most of Hiroshima and Naga that warfare changed from lines and conventional weapons to one of destruction and hardly a strategy for lasting victory of any sort. Furthermore more the point was made on stalin at the time even more so as they didn't have any nuclear deterrent before 49! Please list these attempts for peace as they seem to escape history for those of us in the real world?

  • @mattmatt115 One example. What if no nukes were tested and thus were seen to be viable weapons in a war? So, once used ... Europe, all of Asia, and North America are destroyed and all that land, all those peoples were destroyed. And perhaps all that could have been avoided if the testing and use of tests showed the military, the public, and the world just how terrible these weapons could be. Did you ever think that perhaps there is always another side of every issue?

  • @lonewulf44 You the USA demonstrated the Atomic Bomb not by a peaceful demonstration, But by Bombing 2 Japanese Cities resulting in the Deaths of innocent women and children 100,000s dead and still dying.

The japanese Twice sued for peace before you dropped the Bomb, USA refused, the Surrender. The Bomb did not impress Stalin as history shows, he already knew of it, so what did these Bombs achieve, that the Japanese, were about to offer for Peace

Your Interference in Iran 1950 caused deaths

  • @keirfree The cities were warned, and the deaths numbered fewer than the conventional bombings of Tokyo just months earlier. Innocents die in war and its a matter of intent and objectives. The intent was to save lives, end the war, and bring peace. It achieved all those aims. Saving hundreds of thousands of Jap lives and Allied soldiers. And again, your history book is completely false ... Japan never sued for peace mate. Stalin never used the bomb did he? Because he seen it meant MAD

  • @keirfree Iran 1950? Do you mean Korea? Or are you referring to the Shah and his cronies?

  • @lonewulf44 Cont :

The running of the infamous, Torture Prison in Teheran, and the Sha s secret Police,

That is why the Iranians wanted rid of USA involvement, as all you bring is destruction and despair.

You cannot even sort out your own Disasters ie Katrina even after 5 years people are homeless by the 10000s

  • @keirfree Sigh , apparently you have no sense of perspective if you again are railing on the false claims of absolute and exclusive destruction brought by the government which began the UN, rebuilt entire countries, continually gives more to foreign aid than any other nation, protects countless borders and peoples, and so on and so on. Katrina???? What in the world are you talking about? Lol, is this some kind of rambling outburst or did you just think of some random statement???

  • @lonewulf44 You seem to live in some intellectual vacuum,

the fore runner to the UN was the League of Nations whose greatest advocate was The King of Etheopia, the Greatest hinderer to UN Activity is the USA. and No you do not give the greatest amount in Aid,

Your so called Aid is rejected because it comes with Strings,

The USA is Universally detested, your History, is a Witness to that,

I think everyone else will know what Katrina was, and the current state of N O

Name a border you protect ?

  • @keirfree Lol, without Wilson the League of Nations wouldn't have been mentioned by a single person with even the slightest power to do anything about it. And the greatest hinderer of the current UN is of course itself with it's bloated red tape, toothless military threat, divided and worthless economic conditions, inability to enforce even the slightest of it's rules and bylaws, and is so corrupt only 3rd world nations have need of using it.

  • @lonewulf44 No other country in the World shouts its mouth off about what is does, or thinks it does , Like the USA, does, I know of No other country that gets its concepts of Peace and War, from the facile media of its own making,

You Actually believe ! your Own Bull shit! You actually believe you make a difference ! You do not the only difference is to the detrement, Countries like Sweden Denmark, Norway, Finland, Holland, who have quietly, rearranged social values, where there was Non

  • @keirfree Yet again ignoring the rebuttals and simply spewing more naive or reality dodging ... well rambling. No other country has the media outlet the US has , so naturally the 'mouth' would be larger. And concepts of peace and war are made and altered every day, shifting with circumstances and events ... not some facile media. The media only alters how those concepts are represented and received, altering opinion at best.

  • @keirfree No I actually believe my own opinions, like you yourself seem to. I would call your thoughts and anti-american rhetoric simply naive and lack even a slim foundation of truth ... but my motto has always been to each their own. Every country rearranges their social values, your examples are nations that have not had even the slightest major issues to resolve nor do they have the ability to weigh on major current events individually and thus can escape from such repercussions.

  • @keirfree And just give me an example of a country with whom has a history that is not 'detested' ? Give an example of a country that in the last couple centuries has a 'good record' or has a history that you see as a shining beacon? It seems we have totally different versions of standards and I just need to attempt to understand where in the world such crazed stuff comes from? Do you love communism? Hate western technology? Weep over the fall of the 3rd Reich? Miss feudalism and monarchy?

  • @lonewulf44 Cont : these and other small nations, eg Singapore, Malta, Malaysia, Iceland, etc have all, enriched their peoples life, Not by a threat of an attack, but ensuring various degrees of meritocracy, and democracy.

Only 12% of U S citizens own a passport yet 14 .4 % of your people live below the U N Poverty gradient, and a staggering 60% of Americans cannot afford a doctor. Your economy is non existant, yet you allow head bangers to convince you that there is both a God & Alien abduction

  • @keirfree And like most countries the US has also enriched it's peoples lives. The standard of living is SET in the US and the way of life and liberty the western world enjoys was built and modeled on the success of the US. The nations you mentioned have tiny populations and thus have a completely no comparison to larger nations in this regard. The exception is Malaysia which I think if you take the poor of the west/US versus those in Malaysia ... you would see just who is 'enriched'

  • @keirfree Sigh, I'll play your little dogeball game and keep changing the conversation as you run away. Your statistics are unsourced and obviously rampant with biased views. Those figures are refuted by dozens of examples of success. The best medical technologies and practitioners are in the US. People fly in by the thousands for treatment here. As for your last statement ... I have no idea what you are talking about. Somehow you again bring up God ... and this time with aliens?

  • @lonewulf44

83% of Americans believe in both God and Vampires, and that Israels claim to some promised land is right, based on some 3000 year old tribal tales, of Moses.

You wonder why, you are laughed at ! and why you have to employ foriegn educated graduates (54%) to run your infra structure. whilst you, keep feeding your children the output of X Box or WII.

  • @keirfree Now you bring up the percentage of deists in the country? Why do you keep throwing out random slips yet avoid my rebuttals to your statements. First of all your figure is inaccurate as most polls put the figure around 70%. Second, I don't know what you are even talking about Israel and their beliefs on land nor why it's relevant to what we are talking about. And the US is rarely laughed at, so I don't wonder. As to graduates ... shouldn't the question be why they choose here

  • @StellarBlue1: You need to get you calculator fixed. And your map of Nevada.

  • Comment removed

  • @StellarBlue1: Yes, of course you are exaggerating. I made none of the statements that you ascribe to me, so once again you are exaggerating. I only said you need to get your head examined, metaphorically, and I stand by that.

For the record: I saw one estimate of the total cost to the US of the atomic weapons effort, including the science, and it totaled out at about 800 billion. I was shocked, but you're still about a factor of 800 off in exaggeration. ...

  • ... "A very larger part of the state of Nevada" would seem to say more than half; the NNSS (formerly NTS) is 1350 sq miles, about 1.22% of the state. Being generous and doubling for the Tonopah test (4 in number) and the two other tests, you are still greater than an order of magnitude exaggerated. There have been about 1060 nuclear tests at the NNSS, 80 more in the Pacific and 10 elsewhere in the US. Groom Lake and the Hawthorne Depot have nothing to do with nukes. Show me your whirlygig.

  • @mattmatt115 fuck you. complaining is anything you can do? find a solution instead. whiny bast.

  • @mattmatt115 SHUT YOUR DIRTY LIBERAL MOUTH YOU HUMAN SCUM!

  • @DarkAnthrox1 Yeah lets just destroy the whole planet, lets just fucking destroy everything, but lets start by destroying your home first you cunt!.

  • Nagato wasn't the biggest battleship...

  • I bet you if we had never even made up the atomic bomb and actually never studied it, we wouldn't be at war. And nobody would know the difference if we didn't have computers or anything, I mean, look at the Bikinians lived, and they were just fine. Until we came in and blew up their islands. Now they still aren't home and the radiation there is STILL as deadly now as it was then. This had to be one of the dumbest things in world history.

  • WTF BOOM lol

  • I enjoyed this short film.

  • No shit, waste all those ships, we all could learn something from it, but boys and there little toy bomb wanted show off so they said fuck history no one would care 60 years from now....this country has no history cause they blowing shit up, no one will learn anything at all that.....

  • jumper, if they cantest to blow up lots of battle ships then of course, they can blow up millions upon millions of innocent people too, so thats why they do it

  • werent they afraid of sharks?

  • I hate they did this! it's a piece of history, if the only took 3 ships it would be ok! but the took the whole fleet!! it's a shame, those ships have done great things for there country and this is how they thank them?

    Shame America!
