the meal in the beginning is a traditional food, i had it when i was in azerbaijan. to be honest, it wasnt delicious and a european stomache gets sick hehe. but it was typical for that area, so it was alright!

@1231violin let me answer your question? Uzbek is different that Russian. Uzbek belongs to Turkic language group while Russian belongs to Slavic group. Uzbek and Russian languages are spoken in Uzbekistan. But Uzbek language varies from city to city in pronunciation and in meaning of some words.

@zari0506 um just so u know I'm Uzbek and the food is wonderful... but the cities are totally polluted and they are very strict about open clothing!!!!! so.. just so u know when u visit the older areas... oh and i suggest you visit Bukhara and Samarkhand also The Capital TASHKNENT!

Uzberk food is one of the tastiest in the world. Trust me. I was born in Uzbekistan and my mother still cooks it almost every week and it's DOUBTLESSLY THE TASTIEST!! If you eat junk food, you WILL NOT get sick eating Uzbek food. It consists mostly of rice, lamb (sheep) meat, vegetables, lots of pastry, soups.  Nothing that will really get you sick. I know what I am talking about. Don't compare junk food with Uzbek food. People eating this kind of food live well over 90 years.
