  • why is there an NFL referee behind the announcer?

  • Notice that there's footage from Daytona and Darlington in this.

  • Were you there back then?

Ford & Plymouth were really strong.

I wonder where the Toyotas were in '65?

  • Still in Japan where they belong!

  • Actually LTwon, Toyota had existed in the US at that point since 1958, although they weren't very popular in the US.

  • the "awesome" skyline had less than 100 hp in those times. and the porsche were pretty much the same, but known for bad handling. muscle rules.

  • that's when racing was real. not like the phoney chevy crap today. piss on jr

  • Like you would really know.

  • ..yep. it just took someone to finally say it.

  • back then it was ford mercury plymouth dodge chysler chevy pontiac oldmobile and buick all the big 3

  • Ok I agree....But todays racing ain't phoney in the sense that it still takes a man to power a car around the track no matter what the decal's say it is. But none the less, Racing back then was more ...organic?...serious, and well....real.

Today's NASCAR fan would get a lot from watching footage of those races. They might have been a tad slower, but just as volitile. Think of a Dodge Daytona at 200+.mph. So yes...we would know...

  • 1:55

that's a real crash that almost claimed AJ Foyt's life. He was even pronounced dead at the scene but a fellow race driver managed to resuscitate him

  • No it's not. The crash you're thinking of happened at the season opening Riverside 500 in 1965. Search 1965 Riverside 500.

  • Foyt's rollover is shown at the end of this

    flick,BTW!!

  • You havnt seen

"Dare to Dream: The Alan Kulwicki Story "

    have you?

  • Love this movie!!!

  • nascar with legendary years 1955-1983

  • Get that brain bucket of his head.

You gotta watch out for that Leroy Eggers.
