  • Superb Matt! Really enjoyed that :-) I'm learning this song on my uke - no probs with the verses and chorus but having some trouble with the solo... I'm learning the Split Stroke and trying to throw in some Triples but I'm not sure what chords the solo is played over. Can you help?

Many thanks and best wishes, Adam

  • @argrundy Hey Adam.

The Chords for the solo part is from the Chourus 'I'm Leaning on a Lamp-post at the corner of the street' etc. The Triples and Split Stroke are added over the same Chords of the Chourus part.

    Regards

    Matt

  • @m134mr Thanks very much, Matt. Only been learning the Split and Triple for about a week! Not easy but getting there - the Fan stroke can wait! :-) I've watched your excellent instructional video too... ant chance of some more?

    Best wishes, Adam

  • Fabulous!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Wonderful Performance. I loved it. I never cease to be amazed at the talent displayed on You Tube. One link leads to another, I could stay on for hours and sometimes do.

  • how much practise do you put in to playing your ukulele?

  • A superb performance, love it.

  • That was just brilliant never seen it played better. I was puzzled by the chords,(as usual)could you tell me what was your Uke tuned to and what was the key?

  • Hey, the uke was in D tuning (A,D,F#,B) and the key I was playing in was D. Cheers

  • @davemaur Hi I am a beginner to this so excuse my ignorance but can i tune my banjolele to D if it was set up for C tuning any help would be most appreciated great playing Matthew hope i can get to some where near your standard one day. Phil

  • @APECDUCK

Hi Phil, Yes you can tune your uke to D, but instead of G,C,E,A, which is C tuning, you can tune to D with A,D,F#,B. Both of these tuning systems were very popular during the early stages of the ukulele, May Singhi Breen specialised in promoting D tuning throughout the 1920s,30s, etc.

  • @m134mr Hi Mathew could you tell me which strings would you recommend i have the Aquilla on now seem a bit loud to me what do think would be better alternative any help would be grateful.

  • Fine uke playing there Matt, again!

  • What model of banjo-ukulele are you playing in this video?

  • Hi Ben, the banjo-ukulele I'm playing in this video is a Fred Stevenson uke banjo (a Ludwig copy)

  • Cool! The Ludwig model you play in your "Comparison" video makes an incredible sound!

  • @m134mr what is the cost of this banjolele sounds great

  • Excellent. Let's hear more from Matthew. Beautiful banjo playing.

  • I wish i could do that - without having to learn!

  • Right, I was just humming that tune... My Dad used to sing it to me when I was little but it's not been sung to me for years. So, when i randomly started humming it, i searched it on youtube and came up with your version. Awesome.
