Thanks for another fine review Dan. I picked up a sample of JV 10th anniv at Nordstroms yesterday. I really like It so far and will probably pick up a bottle soon. I like the fact that the longivity/projection are pretty dam good,at least on my skin. I wish JV would enject some of these quailtys Into the rest of there line. JV secnts are some my favorites,just wished they lasted a little longer,thanks again.:)

Ok, now im going to check it out. I love the original JV scent, but the projection is a little to be desired. It started to get closer to the skin. Definitely going to head to Macy's now and try it if they have it.

THANK YOU for this review! i tried this back in december and was SHOCKED! So so disappointed with the longevity of the other jv frags but this one was great with longevity and i loved the scent (unlike the original which i have grown tired of). it reminded me of l'instant edp at the time. love the cinnamon in it.

I can't believe the original John Varvatos was discontinued. I still got a LOT left, and it's not that great of a fragrance, but I was surprised. I thought it was relatively popular. I tried this one, but wasn't blown away. Definitely not bad though!

@vessc I got mine on eBay for $30, and now it's priced at $70 and up. Some are even going for $150. I originally saw a thread on Basenotes about it and thought that it was outrageous. Especially since I got mine for so cheap. I hope it is still in production.

@Scents2sense Yeah with JV frags I usually spray on my clothes like I do with london and that seems to work well for me. I'm glad something works cause I really love these frags.

When I first smelled this, I thought it was similar to Nasamotto's Black Afghano, only much smoother and WAY more subtle. Black Afghano is one of the most intense scents I've ever experienced. It makes Angel Men seem weak.

TOTALLY different take on this one from me, brother. I actually meant to warn you about it when I sent it. I get pure over sweet vanilla/amber. I love the original and vintage as well, but this one was not for me. I'm glad you liked it though, it is a sexy bottle.

Finally, somebody else mentioned this stuff on youtube. I bought this stuff just this past fall (2010). It's a great winter scent in my opinion. No issues with longevity here either.

LMAO! - At 6:02. A barrel? Did you ask him what the barrel had in it? I'll assume it was booze. LOL!

@killaboscoville you might get away with this one in the early spring on cooler days. It's too heavy for summer heat if you ask me.
