  • ok expertvillage this shit of having 10 1 minute videos with no links to each other just to get your views up is bullshit. Doesn't seem so expert to me.

  • Where's the beef?

  • For people in australia who are wondering what "Lye" is it, is called "Caustic Soda" or "Sodium Hydroxide" and you can get it easily in IGA stores, but don't get "Draino" even though it says it has the same ingredients.

  • they used marla singers moms fat

  • first rule of fight club..you dont talk about fight club

  • second rule of fight club..YOU DO NOT TALK ABOUT FIGHT CLUB!

  • fight club is the reason why I am learning to make soap right now....and the second rule of fight club is we do not talk about fight club

  • This is expert village. I am Convinced that they seperate the videos like they do to generate more views. They can doa ten minute video or at least number them

  • Do you have a good recipe for Almond, Honey Oatmeal soap?

  • Thanks for the videos, really appreciate it. :)

  • where on earth do you get the chemicals like L ye

  • I think you can get it at some small mom and pop hardware stores. Possibly even online stores. But its dangerous stuff and has to be stored in an airtight container. Fantastic cleaner though!

  • Granny from the Beverly Hillbillies made some good lye soap...

  • my grandma ustu make soap back in europe with lard lol.......

  • hey...fight club...they made it out of lipo fat

  • not in the book.

  • This is a great video. I did research before watching so this was kind of summing things up.

  • This recipe is too elaborate. Oatmeal, in soap?

  • These videos aren't in any orer how do I know which one to watch next...

  • What kind of stores sell lye?

And how cheap does it come?

  • where can you get lye?

what kind of shops/ stores etc?

  • Do you know about making lye from ashes? It was how they did it in my grandmother's time, and I spoke with an elderly lady here 25 years ago, but I suspect there were details she left out of the process.

  • What about rendering animal fat or human fat?

  • hahahahah fight club

  • It worked for them why not us? Sure it was a book turned into a movie but the philosophy was disturbingly awesome.

  • I don't see why using human fat wouldn't work...

But it would be a lot more expensive to make.

Also, nobody wants to use soap made from Oprah's ass fat. XD

  • HA! HA!

  • Nazi scientists experimented with making soap from human corpses.

  • Sheryl Andrews is award-winning quilter and crafter has spent a lifetime exploring the depths of traditional home skills. a very thanks to you, this is very helpful in my study...

  • wow you can also watch fight club and use it to make bombs and stuff cool huh

  • look how many videos this guy has

  • Great! Thank this helps a lot!

  • Thank you, it is sooo helpful.

  • Great! So, how do i make it antibacterial? lol

  • All soap is antibacterial... the lye (Sodium Hydroxide) kills bacteria very effectively.

  • You can actually use some natural anti-bacterial oils when you make soap. Tea tree oil; neem oil; citrus oil; lemongrass (which is a type of plant, not an actual citrus); and peppermint oil are some really good choices that would work. Although, you might need to counter-balance the effects of some of those oils (so you won't dry out your skin) by using oatmeal and olive oil.

  • I appreciated the detailed explanations. How would you make a christmas-style soap? Do you have any idea in mind, sth with dryed, grated orange paring and typical christmas spices for the scent perhaps?

  • I am starting to make soap and you are very helpful to watch.

    ThankU
