  • I am The Doctor is the greatest piece of Doctor Who music ever. Murray Gold did a fabulous job on all the new series but this one is amazing!

  • Watching this after having seen Season 6 for me adds a new dimension to River's behavior during all of this. As far as she knows, her entire existence is about to be negated. The whole reason that she is River Song is because she was conceived on the TARDIS in flight. If the Doctor doesn't come back, she'll never have existed either. Yes, Rory and Amy might eventually have a daughter, but it won't be her, not really. It'll be some other Melody Pond. Not the one who becomes River.

  • In this scene he acts so old, like he has given up.

But he just saves the world once again!

  • @eZFearz

    Yes, and proud of it.

  • The moment when Matt Smith finally became the Doctor to me.

  • so where the doctor said at the end where the universe poured into amys head and she can bring back her parents. this means she can also bring back the doctor.

  • Nothing compared to 10, sorry, good acting, but nothing compared to 10.

  • @MrBoostey david tennant's a little overrated tbh. yes, he was a great doctor but he got too angsty and melodramatic towards the end imo, always whining about companions and other events in the past. i understood how ten felt about everyone and i sympathised with him, but there were times when i wished he'd get a grip and move on, like eleven has. hell, i'm a eccleston fan but the more i watch smith, the more i like what i see. he's not like tennant at his best, but he does have his moments.

  • Wait. This version of the song is called The Sad Man with a Box? Oh my god, that makes me cry even harder.. :'(

  • I will always cry when I see this. He's such an excellent actor and such a brilliant doctor and he seems so vulnerable and lonely and human in this scene... Okay, the tears are back..

  • @Sarehil What a pussy :L!

  • Absolutely BRILLIANT acting by Matt Smith here.

  • crying sigh help

  • Just one big mistake. All of the stars in the universe never existed, but while he's flying towards the exploding TARDIS, you can still see a few stars in space. Love this scene though.

  • @zwerik They're disappearing, one by one, slowly. Not all of them at the same time.

  • @SpaceDillon Oh, I already thought they all disappeared. Thanks for letting me know.

  • @zwerik they're not stars. They're debris. All those floating rocks catching the light of the TARDIS supernova. All the stars in the universe did stop existing, including our sun. The people only slowly started disappearing, with Amelia being the last, because the Earth was the centre of the storm. The last light to go out. And the Doctor rebooted it. Used the memory of the universe, the blueprint inside every atom, to create Universe 2.0. And just like Rory survived, everyone else survived!

  • The Sad Man With A Box.....:'(

  • I absolutely adore this scene! Just the emotional good-bye and the fact that the Doctor becomes Amy's Raggedy Doctor once again. It's so sweet. This might have been the moment where I realized Matt Smith was my favorite Doctor. Right now, nobody can beat him in my eyes. <3

  • does...does anyone actually understand how the hell the cracks and the rebooting works? do amy's parents come back bcos she remembers them or bcos everything previously erased comes back? the latter would make more sense

  • glad those tech specs were in the description.

  • GERONIMO!!!

  • Since when the hell was he called "Dr Who"?

*ahem* anyway, this is very well edited :D such an awesome scene

  • After Seeing This I Dont Want There To Be A 12th Doctor,Knowone Can Top Matt Smith,KNOWONE. He Is THE DOCTOR.

  • What is the name of the song that plays after the Doctor sends Geronimo to River's thing?

  • @johnnypowell859 That song itself is called "I Am The Doctor", but that version is part of the song throughout this whole scene which is called "The Sad Man with a Box"

  • @humptyskillet62 Thanks, but I figured it out already. My cousin is a big Doctor Who. and he told me. Thanks anyway

  • Comment removed

  • the lighting in the pandorica really makes this scene. it makes him look ghostly but at the same time angelic, like he isn't there because he really is her imaginary friend

  • whats the background music?

  • @idkmybffimaan I believe its called "The sad man with a box"

  • @idkmybffimaan

    0:21 - 1:25 - Little Amy

    1:25 - 2:13 - Can I come with you?

    2:13 - 5:10 - Sad man with a box

  • @cadaei123 thanks!

  • does any1 else think that matt and karen are so cute together? :)

  • ..ok,..so who is the curly red head talking to Amy?..why does the Tardis look like a Star? man I guess I'm going to have to buy the season 5 and 6 on dvd haha

  • @spacetrcuker68 It's River Song; the woman who met the 10th Doctor on the "Library" planet. (She's the only woman who knew his REAL name; and in the next season, your mouth will drop when you find out WHO she is.)

  • @worldends08 is there a next season? I thought he died!?

  • @spacetrcuker68 Curly red head? She's blonde. :P Season 5 is on netflix if you have it.

  • so someone explain, I was a who fan for years, I was a fan in the 80's while in college.. but haven't been keeping up with the new episodes.. was this a scene from the true final episode? the end of the series? the last Doctor? this can't be it for the Doctor, he's way to popular!

  • @spacetrcuker68 No, he survives this. Another two regenerations to go, yet.

    :P

  • since i have not watched this movie whats going on with the sun and what does she me its speeding up?

  • @5337edward (1) it's not a movie, its an episode to the Television series Doctor Who. (2) That isn't a sun, its the Doctors time machine (T.A.R.D.I.S. or Time and Relative Dimension In Space) burning up.

  • @5337edward It's not a movie, it's from the series 5 finale of Doctor Who. I highly recommend the show, particularly series 5.

  • so sad matt and karen are brilliant in doctor who

  • What people have said about Matts performence is right. This just amazing acting. Also the scene when the Doctor sends Geronimo to River is perfect. If that bit was just a bit more badly directed and acted it would have become cheesy and a real moodkiller. Instead you get chills and get a tad bit amused that the Doctor even at the of the universe still is true to him self.

  • @backtoklondike Its shows that matt doctor is taking death.

  • It's the way he acts so old... so pained... so lonely, that makes me prefer him to every other doctor.

  • i'm crying

  • Such a brilliant, beautiful scene and yet in the comments people are at each others' throats. That's Youtube for you.

  • the 1 dislike is the stone darlek

    geronimo

  • the 1 dislike is the stone darlek

  • The title is wrong! It's the Doctor, just the Doctor!

  • What did he mean when he said "Gotcha"

  • @RulianX In 'The beast below' Amy said it to him

  • Originally I was dissapointed that David Tennant left (especially since I went straight from the fourth series to the fifth without seeing the movie), but Matt grew on me in a big way.

  • My partner, the owner of this youtube account (he leaves it logged in) left me earlier. I wasn't crying at first, but this snapped me. ._.

  • @Sacrias :( xxx

  • @Sacrias Im sorry to hear that

  • @Sacrias and everyone cares who came here too watch a doctor who clip cares.

  • @wo0obly Kill yourself.

  • @ZavCoyote sounds fun.compared too the world problems why would i care about some stranger posting about how she lost a boyfriend? it happens, get over it.

  • @wo0obly Oh sorry, I suppose I shouldn't bother you. That autism of yours must be very strong if you can't feel sympathy.

  • @ZavCoyote i do feel sympathy, but it's just a boyfriend - girlfriend break up. It happens all the time, all over the planet. Why feel sorry for something that happens to so many other people in the modern world. I don't see why she has too tell us about her boyfriend leaving her, it's not exactly a rare thing is it, it's happened too many people and they don't go telling random people from random countries on youtube do they?

  • @wo0obly The account that UPLOADED this video belongs to her ex, therefor the video had a bigger impact, therefor she said it was her ex's account.

You really are stupid, aren't you?

  • @ZavCoyote I already knew that shit for brains, it still doesn't mean i should give a crap. It still doesn't make much of a difference, it's just a video.

  • @wo0obly You call me shit for brains but you lack the proper sense of sympathy

    Kill yourself, faggot.

  • @ZavCoyote I'm really gonna kill myself cause a swedish puff told me too. I have sympathy, i just don't show it too people who broke up from a trivial relationship and then cry about it.

  • There have been some really "out there" episodes of Doctor Who, but I have to say this was the most ridiculous of them all.

  • Time.

    Time.

    Time can be rewritten.

  • Check out my doctor who tributes on my channel:D Matts init ;P

  • The way Matt delivers that line "where did they go?"...amazing. One ofmy favourite exchanges since Moffat took over.

  • "Does it ever bother you, Amy , that your life doesn t make any sense?"

  • "Amy Pond. Crying over me, eh? Guess what?

    "What?"

    "Gotcha."

    i_i

  • i never get emotional when i watch tv shows and movies. this episode and the end of the one before had me almost hysterical crying. i laughed at the geronimo but it made me cry more because i felt like it was the last time he would say it and the last time he would save the world. i cried even though i saw this while having the first six episodes of season 6 waiting to be watched and knowing that there is another half of season six. also knowing that matt is signed up for 14 episodes after that

  • And I thought the 10th Doctors goodbyes were sad.

  • Surely River knew that The Doctor would come back because she's his future, she's already gone through all of this??? Can someone explain that to me?

  • @MBGamingLegends she does know what happens next time the doctor meets her but she does not know what happens to her furture like in this episode , she knows his furture not his past and his past is her furture and the crack can destroy anything including past so i guess shes unsure whata going to happen. they always say time can be re written

  • @MBGamingLegends because she forgets like everyone else.. thats why...

  • @MBGamingLegends Time can be rewritten , time can be Unwritten

  • If he is never born how come the universe is fine? The doctor has saved the universe multiple times so if he never existed then who was in the way to prevent all those disasters from happening? And wouldn't Gallifrey not be stuck in a time lock?

  • @DBZM1k3 This is a little thing TVTropes calls 'Fridge Logic'- and if you've seen 'A Good Man Goes to War', remember River's speech to the Doctor at the end of it...

  • @Nebagram A pretty much realised this stuff as it came up in the show as opposed to realising it at a later date.

  • --"It's from the Doctor!"

    --"What does it say?"

    --"... Geronimo."

    *cue awesome music*

Matt Smith: Proving that Bowties ARE cool every week on the BBC.

  • This is the scene were Matt really steps infront of every single actor who previously played The Doctor. Matt also steps in as one of the best actors of all time. Matt never does anything wrong, no lines gets wrong when he does them. The way he says them, the way he moves, the way he looks... everything is so brilliantly done.

  • @LuckeMasse Someone's got a crush. ;)

  • cryed at this <3

  • 3:45 when he kisses her hair is heartbreaking! It makes me love them both so much and hate them both gor making me feel this way! They are amazing!

  • He's the one that stopped May 21, 2011.

    XD

  • @katie12x

You didn't hear about the prediction of the world ending on May 21, 2011?

  • @nerfreak01 God bless the Doctor :D

  • *cry* I would get in there with him, just to stay with my Doctor.

  • @philyburkhill1 say what you like about the episode, but this scene and the scene with little amelia were some of the saddest in the series so far.

  • have seen this multiple times and it still kills me ;-) Matt is brilliant...

  • The Pandorica is the Doctor's new TARDIS lol

But of course. The Doctor's very last words...

    Geronimo. Typical.

  • If the doctor never had been born, there would be multiple things that would happen.

    1. The earth would have been destroyed/occupied multiple times.

    2. Davros destroyed the universe

    3. the daleks would rule time.

but nobody ever things of that in the series...

  • @Prinsgezindepatriot Good thing the cracks only erase the individual and not the actions

  • the furst time i saw this episode it made me cry

  • This scene makes me almost cry even just... as this clip. God, Matt is such a brilliant actor and Moffat is such a great writer. ;_;

  • Just watching this clip brings tears to my eye's and also makes me realise how amazing series 5 was.

  • woooooo i'm 47,000 veiwer!

  • Amazing this had me crying :'(

  • I swear, Series 5 was so good from beginning to end I almost didn't want the show to continue because I was worried they couldn't top it.

  • at 1:31 the face Matt did was he looked like a 900 year old allien so tired of life....

So i think Tennant is a better actor from Matt but that is only becouse he is older.Matt is a better doctor cuz tennant doctor was kinda emotional and i didnt like that at all.

  • @friendsmakingvideos1 I thought Tennant was fine as The Doctor...at least until the specials when he turned into a whiny prat. And moping over Rose was really out of character. But he had his great moments like any other.

But I prefer Matt. You're right. Look at that shot! They got a 20-something male to convincingly portray an old time-traveling alien so well.

  • This guy is way better than Tennant. Am I the only one that thought Tennant was shit?

  • @ihavekankles i don't think david tennant is shit but he was my doctor becuase he was the first one i started watching but i do prefer matt smith i feel like he has more of the daft silly mad prefessory side to the doctor who i think he should be

  • @doctorwhocollector01

I started watching at Christopher Eccelston, and Tennant was by far the worst. I think it may have been a combination of the bad writing and Tennant's ham acting.

  • @ihavekankles i rather like christopher eccleston it was a shame he only got one series becuase what a series it was :D

  • I love this scene, i felt connected to Matt, flipping liked him from then on. All that emotion acted out brilliantly. It makes me want to watch this episode again.

  • oh my fucking god. this is by far one of the best doctors. I think in a few years he will be better than tennat. AFTER SEEING THIS MAKES ME WANNA GO ON IPLAYER AND WATCH A DOCTOR WHO EPISODE. MATT SMITH IS THE FUCKING GUY. he is awesome

  • @chidori406 Don't cuss on God.

  • @Boky505 Great, another religious nutjob.

  • @ZavCoyote Some people are offended by that, it's pure a politness lesson.

  • I damn near jizzed when I saw "Geronimo" on the screen.

  • This is the very first episode I saw of Doctor Who and it was sad, after going back and watching the rest of the seasons and getting to this point again, it was even sadder.

  • i love smith being emotional far more than tennant being emotional coz tennant always had a deranged look that didn't put your mind at rest much, whereas smith seems tired but determined and more than anything he doesnt act self pitying

  • The line "You won't need your imaginary friend anymore" always makes me sad, especially now that I've seen Toy Story 3 for some strange reason.

  • It's from the Doctor!

    /GERONIMO!/

  • The scene with the doctor sitting in the Pandorica and Amy saying goodbye has no music over it in the version used on the show. I think that it worked brilliantly that way. The lack of music made it hit home so much more and in a way it says more than if there had been dramatic or sad music playing. But this is a well edited video, I just loved that original scene.

  • What did he mean when he said, "gotcha!" at the end?

  • @CarloGoldonis In The Beast Below episode, Amy was talking about how all the pain, and misery, and loneliness made the Star Whale kind, and how it was the very last of its kind. She compared the Star Whale to The Doctor because they've both suffered so much and bacame kind because of it. They both started to cry and hug and Amy says 'Guess what? Gotcha'

  • @xtdbxkiefer thanks mate. By the way, do you know if there's a place online where I can watch the latest Doctor Who?

  • @CarloGoldonis If you're in the UK you can find it on the BBC iPlayer, I dont know about abroad though, sorry

  • @xtdbxkiefer I didn't remember that line from TBB. Thanks for the reminder. Now this scene is even more exquisite.

  • How...how can even the DT obsessed fangirl hordes not love Matt Smith.....

  • See? Why couldnt david tennant go like this? Personally, I blame RTD...10 could have gone in such a wonderful way...

  • Why couldn't number ten have gone out with this kind of dignity. Not whimpering, saying I don't wanna go. This is why love this season and Steven Moffat's writing. If this was going to be the end of the Doctor and he was going to die, I think this is how he should go.

  • @eastwing329 I think that was the problem: David Tennant didn't have Steven Moffat as head writer. He had Russel T Davis, who never misses an opportunity to crap himself when he gets to the end.

  • @JamesOhGoodie Definitely. Davis, when you get down to it, was quite full of himself. He is really not that good a writer. I liked Tennet as the Doctor but then again I have liked all the Doctors.

  • starting at 4:16 Its the bes part

  • "How? What happened to them? Where did they go?" I thought FOR SURE this was David Tennant's (the 10th's) fault and the 11th was feeling guilty about it and the whole secret he made Amy his next companion was to make up for the fact that he failed to save her parents from the Daleks during his time as the 10th and that's why she doesn't remember the Daleks invading the sky - but alas, its too ambiguous and it probably isn't so.

  • Anyone else cry during this part and then the part by her bed when she's little??

  • name of this sound track @ 3.50 please?

  • Think about this - doctor who science never really made much sense to begin with, but this goes against everything. If anyone wants me to clarify what i mean, reply.

  • @AlmightyPearHater Please do.

  • @Hawandy456 Okay 1, the TARDIS shell, the Police Box, is just an illusion. He cannot possibly have taken a piece of the outer shell of the TARDIS out of the crack in time. 2, since when do TARDISes take the whole of creation with them when they explode!? 3, Cracks in time eat, they don't push things through. THE DOCTOR WAS WRONG. Finally... The doctor was shot by a dalek in The Stolen Earth and he had to regenerate straight away. These daleks can kill other Daleks!!! How did he not die!?

  • @AlmightyPearHater Never thought of that :/

  • @AlmightyPearHater If I may point out, the TARDIS isn't technically under ILLUSION, it's the actual shell, and the space was inverted into a dimensional pocket to fit inside. Just like the Genisis Arc that housed the millions of Daleks in "Doomsday". Second, a single TARDIS exploding WOULDN'T destroy time and space, but if the painting itself suggested, two TARDIS, the exact same from different time streams, would be like connecting the positibe and negative charges from a batery. Sparks galore!

  • @AlmightyPearHater The Dalek was weakened, hence it didn't function at full power, hence the Doctor wasn't killed, also, notice how River Song can kill it and prompt it to beg for mercy

  • the dalek wasn't fully formed. it was a weaker version of itself so its shields and power were not as powerful. it was only starting to regenerate from the light of the pandorica. the tardis has the time vortex at it's heart: it can rip apart time and space. it is like a species of its own but it's also made of time, not just space. cracks in time don't eat unless the universe is being torn apart. nothing was ever pushed through, the doctor took the burnt piece out of the explosion.

  • Matt Smith is Brilliant But David Tennant will always be my favourite doctor ever!

  • @UltimateTARDIS david tennent is a kissy boy i like matt smith

  • The acting here was superb!!!

  • The acting was superb!!!

  • some ppl r to faced they say oh i hate matts doctor then change there minds you rather love him or hate him i like matt smiths doctor ive liked them all they all been different i never gone i hate matt then changed my bloody mind

  • This was the perfect opportunity to introduce a new 'eleventh' doctor, the one we got to know never truely existing & instead another regeneration taking its place. Mind you I love this doctor, not as much as the last one but close to it. But really, what leads to the doctors regeneration has been the same throughout the series, this was there chance to introduce something new and they didn't exploit it. That's the only thing which bugs me about this episode. Still can't wait for the next season

  • I love Matt. One second he's a nine year old space Gandalf and then, he's an epic 900 year old time lord. Awesome Matt

  • @lillyrock14 "Nine Year Old Space Gandalf" That is one of the most epic and hilarious ways to describe the doctor.

  • @Timinater1994 haha, it's perfect for the doctor XD

  • Holy jeez. That was BRILLIANT! It great! If Time Lords become Time Lords by staring at a 'rip in the fabric of reality' aka a crack in time and space, does that mean that technically Amy unknowingly is a tiny little bit Time Lord? Is that why she can remember everything? And also, I just realized that in the eleventh hour she says to the doc 'my mom use to put faces on apples.' But her mom never existed. It's a clue that she can remember her parents, even as early as the eleventh hour. WOW.

  • @glopsanity That's not how Time Lords are Time Lords....they're kinda *born* that way?

  • @HermioneTimeLord46 Okay, while his theory is clearly wrong, there once was a hint early in the original series that Time Lord was a rank rather than a race among the gallifreyans.

  • This was my first Doctor Who finale. The first episode I saw was actually The Dead Planet (I think that's the title anyway. The one before The Waters of Mars with the 10th) and then I didn't see any for about a half a year and started watching with the 11th doctor.

And I have to say, I loved this scene. This is one of the most brilliant heroic sacrifice scenes I have ever seen in my entire life! The icing on the cake was Geronimo; after a good bye like that, what else is there to say really?

  • I stopped. The video stopped. Thats no okay with me!!!!!! 8D Amazing acting though, <3 you Matt smith!!!

  • "You'll have your family back. You won't need your imaginary friend anymore."

    ;_; dammit, Matt.

  • @jaydahsxcreator that's bad!

  • @jaydahsxcreator that was beautiful

  • Matt on end of time: GERONIMO!!

Matt on the big bang: Geronimo

    XD

  • @ROFLproduction11 Matt is doing his best

he is the best doctor ever!!

  • @mspeter97 He's really funny but he's not my faverate doctor, still good though

  • for me this scene is more moving than any regeneration as the doctor believes he will cease to have existed after he makes he saves the universe and the goodbye is more poigniant for that.

  • i get it. The Crack ate her parents like it did to Rory. She had no memory of him for the 2 episodes she and the doctor just in. He had no memory of her parents the same way

  • AND... WILL THERE BE ANOTHER SEASON?????

  • @TheCynthiasramos The doctor is erased from time,

wiped from everyone's memories. Then at Amy's wedding, River gives her the Book about the doctor, and Amy remembers the doctor's existance, this gives him the power to return. and Amy and Rory rejoins him in the tardis.

and yes there will be a new series starting soon :D

  • so what happened to the doctor ??? please respond im really confused

  • i am sorry but i only liked the 10th doctor from before his latest regeneration now that guy was a good actor
