I installed the latest Ubuntu through wubi, there are no graphics effects options, i have updated all the drivers. Please help, i liked how i could make the windows all wobbly in the last ubuntu. What different or what have i done wrong. Some body help thanks.
don't forget the 'disconnect' extension, it's great for de-personalising searches and blocking 'social' sites from tracking you (including google).
this eyeos thing is great, but if you're going to actually have a server at home, why not have it running e.g. linux with xorg, and log into it via vnc over ssh? :)
@MrJordanstech imo you're missing the point, bryan wanted a 'cloud' desktop. i WOULDN'T have xorg on a file server (well, i wouldn't have it on any computer to be honest, but that's neither here nor there). if i wanted a gui, i'd install webmin and administer it remotely.
Here is the solution to all of our cloud computing woes: get a netbook and stuff a gigantic hdd/sdd in it, and put all of your files on that. Then they can have my data when they pry it from my cold dead hands.
