I can't believe we're still pursuing the archaic practice of urban sprawl. I'm an urban planning student and the idea of this continuing is outrageous. our only sustainable options for increased growth at this point is densification within our existing urban centers which supports close communities, reduces car use and increases neighbourhood vibrancy. the practice of expanding forever outward is completely unsustainable + suburban houses will crash in value as oil prices continue to skyrocket.
