Pens in '09 after having a 2-0 lead in that one as well, suffered perhaps their greatest upset in 2010 when the 33 point underdog Habs beat them. In doing so, Washington becoming the all-time leader in blown 3-1 series leads with their fourth allowed (leaders as well in all-time series blown with 2 game leads at nine). Then in 2011 got swept in the 2nd round by an underdog Bolts team. I challenge anyone to find a hockey team with a more painful record of playoff misery. I feel for Caps fans.

haha i still have this, this is on a tape thats called "the lighter side of hockey" and was made in 1987. i popped it in the old vcr that i haven't used in ages, and unbelievably it still works haha. lots of hockey memories on that tape

This game was great even though it sucked the life out of me as a Caps fan; but the real killer for me was Nedved's goal in '96 in the 4th OT (I think there was 16 seconds left in the period). Ouch, a rapist beat us.

I remember this game ended at like 2:30 in the morning.

Getting up the next morning really sucked, I was freaking exhausted.

Still have a 1987 Lafontaine jersey that back then was 5 times to big on me. Now it fits!

I used to be so superstitious(sp) that I didn't move from my seat from the beginning of the second period until LaFontaine scored in the 4th OT. I jumped up then fell down, because my right leg had fallen asleep. I will never forget that game.
