what a silly haircut...its like a haircut from hell from a bygone age...theres nothing worse than an old man that cuts his own hair..it shows how little he has achieved in his life...GET A GRIP MAN..
another PS: My 5 yo newphew litterally had to be tied down to the chair to cut his hair .. (partially a commentary of his mother willingness to put up with his manipulative tantrums) ... till I showed him using the flowbee on grandpa ... now he can't get in the chair for a haircut fast enough.
Enjoyed you video on the FB. I am a disgruntled robocut customer. It went south fast and just wants to pull my hair out instead of cutting. Ive ordered my FB and cant wait to get it. Anyway, THANKS!
@vividprosystems hey you know they have replacement blades you can buy for your robocut I just ordered a Flowbee too but what about when the blade goes dull? I don't know if you can get a new blade like the robocut. How long did it take for your robocut blade to go dull?
Hey FOX &FRIENDS are looking for anyone that seriously still uses a Flowbee regularly..I thought of this video immediatly.Just go onto their website to find the details..This is no joke~Im totally serious! It was on this morning.
WOW, I honestly thought those Flowbees were a lot of hogwash, but I can see its a good way to remove the bulk of hair, then you tidied things up later.
Thanks Lisa!!! I love my Flowbee. I've cut my own hair forever, even before I got the Flowbee. But pre-Flowbee I had to take a ruler and measure each lock of hair to a specific length before I cut it. It was a pain in the butt. It's MUCH easier with the Flowbee.
A big thanks for watching Cris!!! Luckilly for my subscribers I'm limited to about a 12:30 video at most because of YouTube's file size limitations on uploads or there's no telling how long some of my vids might be, LOL. Often I'll have dozens of files in a project folder and when I finally get things boiled down to around 12 minutes I just go with that. Now if only I could do all my own dental and vet work, LOL.
Even better than a Flowbee:) Well, assuming she does a good job. And even if she doesn't, I'm sure there's things she does better than my Flowebee, LOL.
A most worthy cause! I love long hair but I couldn't quite go a year without a trim. My hair is just too flyaway/unmanageable for that. A couple of times in my life I've lost my little snippers. I can't even remember where I got these but I always have a lot of trouble finding them when I need to buy them.
it is a pain at times, but the fact that I have donated over 3 yards of braids makes putting up with "bad" hair days worth it. It also helps that the beauty shop cuts the hair for free because its for locks of love, so am I really generous or just cheap? Don't answer -LOL
Aye matey and right ye be. Me Flowbee she be a real treasure sho nuff. Some might scoff and snicker at her buzzy goodness but only the legendary Edward scissorhands could do a better job!
YES! finally my hairs longer than yours....ok it was by default but it still counts :D flowbee.......lol.......can you imagine going into dragons den with a flowbee theyd kick you out yet they work :D
The famous flowbee! I think with my length, i would need all 14 attachments! Looking sharp, nice trim. Yes i just watched 11 min of Blinkazoid, cutting his hair.. I couldnt help wanting to get a pair of scissors and cut it, cause the mirror cut with snippers does look time consuming! haha Shave and a haircut...
I'm able to cut off far more at a time with scissors but I can be a lot more precise with the snippers. I do use scissors on the sides sometimes, but never in the back. I actually did shave the other day but it's well on it's way to growing back now. I think I've got one video to edit with me shaved and I did an as yet unposted poetry collab with dl737 and a cast of many other people with me shaved. So that'll be the only vids with barefaced Blink for a while:)
This is about as short as I like it. I have on a few occasions dyed it light brown though. It looks kinda fake for the first week but then when it fades just enough to where every hair isn't exactly the same color I like the way it looks. I'm kinda lazy though and I don't like the idea of putting chemicals on my scalp. Plus I have to shave or it looks weird with brown hair and a white beard.
I've never really gotten a satisfactory cut at the barber's. Plus I don't have to listen to my Flowbee rattle on about something I don't really care about, LOL.
That was such a cool tool. I had one till the rubber connector dried out and broke, and the blades got dull. It was so good, it would allow me to pass military inspection.
So far I've not had any problems with this one. I always make sure I oil the blades before every cutting. Plus my hair is pretty fine so it's probably not too much of a challenge for it.
Grrrr, sorry Dorotwhy! An inadvertant click of my touchpad seems to have marked your comment as spam or something and not I can't reply to it even when I click to "show" it.
Sorry, for the horror show Dorotwhy. It'll grow back though. I don't think I'm the corn row type of guy. I love my hair long but when it gets tooooo long it just looks a lttle too whispy (for lack of a better word).
If my hair was a LOT thicker and not so fine, I'd probably let it grow to my waist, LOL.
Well actually now that I've done a refresh, the reply link shows up, but my comment won't stick underneath your comment, so my reply will have to stay here.
Oh! Yikes! The mere thought... it's 2am and I'm off to sleep. I hope the corn borers don't infiltrate my dreams... I better go watch another video to get them out of my thoughts.
You're a gutsy man - lots of women I know cut their own hair, but not too many men. I do my front and sides in a similar way to you, but trim up over my ears. The back is harder for me, but my son is learning to taper it for me. You do a terrific job!
Thanks Liz!!! The back is a little tricky. I stand in front of a full length mirror and then use a hand held mirror in one hand and the snippers in the other hand. I didn't think I'd even be able to fit a camera into the mix but it turned out better than I expected in that regard.
Sure!!! Friday's is tequila day at the Blinkazoid Salon. Our motto is "By the time you leave you'll be so buzzed you won't notice whether you have hair or not", LOL.
Be sure and bring your ipod and put Bohemian Rhapsody on it. Flowbeeing a head banger while drunk on tequila always makes for the most *interesting* haircuts, LOL.
my friend fucked my hair up good a few years ago. i decided to go short and asked her to do the honors. but we had a few beers first and she had broke up with her man earlier that day... she ended up in tears not even half way through. not only do i not look good with short hair but that cut certainly did not make the cut, lol
Yikes Danny, you're not getting your minimum daily requirement of late night TV infomercial viewing. I'm not sure what the FDA guideline actually is but I'm sure you must be under it. Keep this up and you'll suffer from such maladies as having too much energy when you wake up and not having dark circles under your eyes!!!
NO! NO! Corn Row that hair!!!! Perfect for you... I can't bare (bear?) to actually watch you do this so I have scrolled down to avoid the massacre AARRGGHH!!! I peeked oh... i shouldn't have now I am SAD :(
I used the angled pieces the first couple of times but never really seemed to be able to do what I wanted to with them. I have more control with the scissors although they're a little bit of a pain to fool with. You're the first one here besides me who uses a Flowbee. We'll just laugh all the way to the bank, LOL.
Darn it, I probably should have kicked off this video by doing a little bit of head banging. It's be a few more months before my hair is in head banging shape again, LOL.
I thought at first it was a wig... THAT was out of conttrol hair, and a flowbee? I thought this was a joke video. That was an outstanding job. Very pro lookin haircut!
Thanks Steve! A lot of people claim the thing they love most about being a partner is the banners. I've never even bothered with banners. The thing I love most is the ability to do my own icon/thumnail shots from anywhere in the video. Usually I just use *Snagit* and pick the craziest looking frame freeze from the entire video, LOL. Yep, that one did look like a wig.
hey blink was that a windows 95 for dummies on your book shelf behind u lol. Not to mention wow u have a flowbee how cool is that, in it's original box u could be sitting on a gold mine lol
There's a multitude of computer books on the shelf over the head of my bed where I was filming the Flowbeeizing, but Windows 95 For Dummies isn't one of them. The only Dummies book there is a Quarkexpress For Dummies. All but just a few of those books I've gotten at yard sales/thrift stores. Shamefully enough I've never looked at a single one of them after it's gone on that shelf, LOL. I need to weed them out. I weed out all the Windows 95 books quite a while back.
Trust me I've been very tempted to do that myself:) I've got a great big dent in the top of my head where my brother hit me in the head with a hoe when I was a kid. I'm sure it would be a gnarly looking scar, LOL. I actually do trim my beard by buzzing it with an attatchment to my regular hair clippers. It takes about two minutes.
Yep, the one and only:) Supposedly you can use all the various attachments such as those slanted plastic pieces I showed at the first to do the entire job. I used to fool around with using them and not using scissors to finish the job but I never could master that. There's really no substitute for finishing up with scissors.
I have no clue if they still make it or not. I'll bet they do though. I actually have two of them, (Just in case, LOL). Although I seem to have lost the power supply brick to one of them.
It really is pretty easy. The Flowbee part is a no brainer. The main thing on the rest of it is just don't cut too big a hunk of hair at one time. Just make little snips and then if a snip doesn't look quite right you can usually fix it with a few other strategic snips.
I'm sure anyone who manages to make it through this long video deserves a free set of something!
Somehow or other I've mangaged to not aquire any Ginsu knives over the years. I do have this "Hand Hammered Wok" thing I bought from an infomercial. They don't advertise it anymore. I still use it every now and then. Someday I'm going to make a stir-fry video and use it.
I have a briliant Xrated comment, Blink, but since this is a family channel, I will keep it to myself -- lol! I know what you mean about other people cutting your hair -- I hate to pay for a haircut when I can do it that good myself. I'd definitely let you cut my hair for free!
do-it-yourself type. I change oil in my car too. Although that's pretty simple. It looks like right now the main thing I can't do is sleep. I just didn't seem to get sleepy last night. I'm sure I'll zonk out partway through the day though.
I about cracked up when I saw the title. I remember being mesmerized by the infomercials and having just a *twinge of a let down as I didn't own a cannister vac!
On the cannister vac I use, the head messed up quite a while back. I then bought an upright vac. So now my cannister vac is relegated solely to Flowbee duty. A very cushy job for a vac to only have to workout twice a year I'd say.
I guess I cut about 4 1/2" off. I'm not sure how long hair has to be to donate, although I don't think mine is quite thick enough to be donation worthy. Plus it would have to go to someone living in a static electricity free environment, LOL.
I noticed after I posted this that there seem to be LOTS of FLowbee videos on YouTube. I used to see them advertised on late night TV quite a bit but I've not seen any new ads in ages.
Next week I think I'll post a super long video showing my hair growing back, LOL.

I'm sure it would be a gnarly looking scar, LOL. I actually do trim my beard by buzzing it with an attatchment to my regular hair clippers. It takes about two minutes.

Wow...so that's the Flowbee. Looks like a professional job!
audionautix 2 years ago
Yep, the one and only:) Supposedly you can use all the various attachments such as those slanted plastic pieces I showed at the first to do the entire job. I used to fool around with using them and not using scissors to finish the job but I never could master that. There's really no substitute for finishing up with scissors.

LOL do they still make this product? Maybe you're the last hold-out.
;)

I have no clue if they still make it or not. I'll bet they do though. I actually have two of them, (Just in case, LOL). Although I seem to have lost the power supply brick to one of them.

I remember when the Flowbee was advertised on television. but that's a cool way to give yourself a haircut
Dianasme 2 years ago
It really is pretty easy. The Flowbee part is a no brainer. The main thing on the rest of it is just don't cut too big a hunk of hair at one time. Just make little snips and then if a snip doesn't look quite right you can usually fix it with a few other strategic snips.

Shake, rattle and roll good!
Do we get a set of free ginsu knives with that? ;)
anniehiggy 2 years ago

I'd definitely let you cut my hair for free!
liz1060 2 years ago
Well darn, now I'll be wondering just what that comment was:)))
I'm pretty good at doing my own hair but that's the only style I know I'm afraid. I could apply a little creativity to it though I guess, LOL.

Wow! It looks great! Is there anything you
can't do? I'd totally let you flowbee my hair! ; ]

Thanks Sheri! I always have been the
do-it-yourself type. I change oil in my car too. Although that's pretty simple. It looks like right now the main thing I can't do is sleep. I just didn't seem to get sleepy last night. I'm sure I'll zonk out partway through the day though.

Man, I SOOO hear ya...I'm an insomniac!
It sucks!

Isn't it strange how you feel compelled to sit & watch when someone is cutting their own hair with a vacuum cleaner! LOL!
Great job though!
:-)

Thanks Twish! It would probably get more view if I had cut it with a weed eater instead though, LOL.

I about cracked up when I saw the title. I remember being mesmerized by the infomercials and having just a *twinge of a let down as I didn't own a cannister vac!
Your hair was almost long enough to donate.
LeSaMilano 2 years ago
On the cannister vac I use, the head messed up quite a while back. I then bought an upright vac. So now my cannister vac is relegated solely to Flowbee duty. A very cushy job for a vac to only have to workout twice a year I'd say.
I guess I cut about 4 1/2" off. I'm not sure how long hair has to be to donate, although I don't think mine is quite thick enough to be donation worthy. Plus it would have to go to someone living in a static electricity free environment, LOL.

does anyone else use a Flowbee or is yours the only surviving working model?
So what else is in store for next week - toenail clipping for dummies?
MrRandomWritings 2 years ago
I noticed after I posted this that there seem to be LOTS of FLowbee videos on YouTube. I used to see them advertised on late night TV quite a bit but I've not seen any new ads in ages.
Next week I think I'll post a super long video showing my hair growing back, LOL.
