  • johnny paycheck walked it like he talked it - a real man from the time when country music was made by real men

  • I'm ADDICTED to this song!

  • @MisterBorg9 Yeah I know what you mean! I just want to go to a bar, order a shot, and find the nearest woman I can two-step this with! Killer Honky Tonk is addicting!

  • THERE WILL NEVER BE ANOTHER JOHNNY PAYCHECK

  • the best song Johnny Paycheck ever recorded i think i have this on a album

  • wonderful song !

five stars : one of the best country than I know !

  • Donny young is awsome.

  • a11 the best song johnny ever did what a talent .sure am glad he changed his ways a few years before he passed.at one time this was a real tough bad ass man.but the man could sing like a bird.and thanks go out to george jones for making sure johnny had a good funeral.rest in peace buddy you are missed.

  • no words to describe how I feel when I listen to this........but I'll try. Absolutelyfantastic....

  • The only thing ever worth a damn to come out of Greenfield.

  • Another great tune written by the late Hank Cochran.

  • Another great tune qritten by the late Hank Cochran!

  • Thank You For The Gorgeous Rendition of Videos for this great song. I had the pleasure of playing lead for Johnny for a couple of years and this brought me to tears. My name is Kenny Brent. Thanks again. Contact Info: Facebook: Kenny Brent (Last Outlaw of Country Music).

  • My friends on here ...this is honkey tonk.

  • I HAD NO IDEA HOW TRULY GREAT A SINGER JOHNNY PAYCHECK WAS. WOW, IS ALL I CAN SAY. THANKS FOR RIPPING THIS FROM VINYL ! ! IT'S VERY SAD TO HEAR ABOUT HIS FAMILY COULNDNT AFFORD TO BURY HIM, AND ALL THE OTHER TROUBLES: PRISON, ADDICTION, SEXUAL PROBLEMS. HOPE HE'S IN PEACE NOW.

  • Oh great! this was BR(before Ronnie), but there was this boy.... He spun me around, upside down and inside out....lol Just memories Wow, I was only 17. I married Ronnie, the best man in the world. We had 38 years of love.... Ended way too soon. He passed at 57 yearold. God bless him for loving me....

  • if you watch some old video on here johnny is jones bass player and harmony singer

  • How do things go so terribly wrong that an incredible talent like this has to have his grave purchased because the family can't afford it? Shameful.

  • Johnny Paycheck was fantastic and so missed.Same with Johnny Cash,Bill Monroe,Porter Wagonner,Tammy Wynette,Waylon Jennings etc.

  • Thanks Jon Spencer.

  • Great video. I like your writup in the video description. Sad that George had to cover Johnny's funeral, but oh so touching that he did. Johnny was never appreciated the awesome talent that he was.

  • Great singer,up there with Jones and the Hag.Maybe better ????

  • "i don't know you from adam!"

    dude ruled it...

  • Dang me! this is such a great song ever and forever !! thank you j.Paycheck!

  • In all honesty & fairness, even though being a fan of hard core classic country, I never really realized how much Johnny was a part of it back in the day, until I started listening to Eddie Stubbs on WSM some years ago. Sheez, did he lay down some hard core stuff! I have the "Shakin' the Jukebox AKA Donny Young" CD & love it, not to mention some great cuts of him singing harmony w/Skeets McDonald. The pride of Greenfield, Ohio, he definitely paid his dues!

  • RIP Johnny...

  • So good!

  • Thanks George.

  • @pervat602oak50461: Funny, I've never been to your home. I've never even met you.

I went to your channel site and read it. What the heck is the matter with you? Good grief!

  • This is one of my favorite videos too!

  • WOW I didnt hear this one since like forever tks

  • My ALL TIME FAVORITE country song !

  • Thank yu george.

  • Bless George Jones for providing a headstone.

  • What a classic!

  • The best version of this song Ive ever heard. some george jones style /Phrasing in there .

  • Paycheck (AKA Donny Lytle, AKA Donny Young) used to play bass and sing harmony for George. George's phrasing was more influenced by Paycheck than the other way round, as can be seen in the evolution of George's sound.

This is in no way a dis of George, because George took it to new levels and made the style his own.

  • Dragnuckle, I hadn't thought it could have been that way round but now you point it out I can see what you are saying. George sort of smoothed it out a lot.

  • dragnuckle you are correctumondoe.

  • i was 10 yrs old when this song hit the air waves.... my sister to sing it all the time now i sing it with my band i'm always brought to tears when i listen to the oldies thanks......

  • I also worked at KJCH , Cleveland Tx. Boy what a great place for a young DJ to learn his trade. But at KRBA in Lufkin I had a free rein to play what I wanted to and let me tell you I filled the airwaves over Lufkin Tx with pure Honky Tonk. Thanx for adding this Gem !

  • @rundawgrun ----and when were you at KJCH ? I should know ya --I quit there and went to work at WTAW in Bryan for awhile --.Was at kjch for about 2 yrs

  • Bless your heart ..always come back to this song when I need a lift ...awesome damn fiddle ..awesome music !!!!!!!!5.stars

  • old country music is my hobby for life....Todays music is NOT country,,,its pop, at best. Yes, there are a few good traditionalists around,,,vince gill, marty stuart, patty loveless...But there will never be another sound like that of the late 50's and 60's. I saw Johnnie Payckeck perform several times...pure country.....that was it...good post

  • Let's not forget Alan Jackson, Randy Travis or Dwight Yoakam. But the real Country were people like Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, Merle Haggard, Hank Williams, George Jones, Waylon Jennings, Charley Pride, etc etc.

  • "I don't intend to spend too much time in heeeere" all alkys including me have said this $ Just remember 2 step leads to screwin. (if you do it right) lol

  • jb92034 There ain't too many of us who understand the meaning of classic country music. I watched the opening of the CMA awards and didn' recognize any of the teenie booper, bubble gumers. OMG! GBA!
