  • veeery useful ty!

  • @olfikpl Glad you liked it.

  • Some players block - chop the ball to produce a drop shot effect with a heavy back spin on it. I think ma lin uses it alot.

  • @lastxp Some players do this. It is very difficult to execute. I've seen Ma Lin do it brilliantly a number of times.

  • @lastxp

You need specialized rubber to really pull that off-certain type long pips.

  • @iandemagi Yes! A decent rubber is required for all of the basic strokes we teach.

  • thanks sooo much for these helpful videos!!!!! but i would like to know if this can be done for fast topspin smashes or does this only apply to slow topspin strokes??

  • @thedoctorthemaster You can do similar things against a fast topspin too. Generally a faster shot will not have as much topspin so you need to vary your stroke to allow for this. Also as the ball is traveling faster you probably don't need to punch the ball as much as you don't need to generate more speed. The counter topspin is also difficult to make because the ball is coming at you faster. So a good option is to use a standard block against a fast topspin.

  • because of these videos.. i won in a best of 3 game. the score is 3-0.

im just 11 yrs. old & my opponent was 21 yrs.old. haha

  • thanks for the video

  • @sai0024 You're welcome.

  • i always use the punch on my bh =D

but always counter topspin on the fh :P

  • Thanks!!! now i can counter my friends good topspin cause i topspin back but then its gonna be fricking high than he smashes!

  • @goedehabbo :)

  • thank you so much....it is very very very helpful...i was so confused with my opponent with that shot....now i think i can get him this time...

once again thank you very much!

  • @zubairaliamirali great to hear.

  • I think it's easy to return these balls... WITH PIMPLES! I'm using Butterfly feints and I can just backspin these back and the enemy will miss ;P

  • @maxk880 Do you have pimples on both sides or would you only defend like this on the backhand side?

  • @pingskills if i get a slow spinny topspin i have enought time to turn my table tennis bat and use my backhand pimples with forehand. I learned that technique from the best defender in the world, Joo Se Hyuk

  • @maxk880 He is certainly a great person to learn from!

  • Thank you for the videos. I watched before our competitions and we got the title "CHAMPION" !

  • @jasron08 Congratulations!

  • How do i counter back a side spin loop or drive?

  • @xBarneyCalhounx : counter with top spin. your opponent's side spin will be dead.

  • ALOIS;D

  • Cant u just give a lession on how to spin the ball rlly hard? :P

  • at 1:42 is jeff looping the ball

  • HI, i have really learnt alot from your videos. But im really sorry that i am unable to buy ur videos because i think im too young. Can i ask you about table tennis questions through email?

  • superb!! thanks a lot for your videos, i have learnt a lot from u guys. i just wanted to know how do i pick smashes up that are directed at my wrong hand side. i am nearly fail there. please help :( and i really need your help.

  • @greekmaxi Thanks for the kind words about our videos. It sounds like you need quite a detailed answer. The best place to ask such a question is on the Ask the Coach section of our website. Try there and we'll see if we can help you out.

  • Pingskills! Thank so much for those videos, i did get many Medals in table tennis! When Serve, and block and chop! Thank you.

  • @Gustav1455 Congratulations. It's nice to know that we are helping people out there. Keep working hard and you'll get even better.

  • Thanks to all your videos. I improve alot in my chopping for doubles and attacking in singles.

  • @Musickia Thanks for the kind words. It is nice to know that our videos are helping people.

  • thank you so much for the lessons!!!!!! they're really helpful!!!!!

  • @jayhawker97 You're welcome!

  • u guys make it look so ez 5/5

  • You guys have great vids, but i really really wish you had the same amount of vids for PENHOLDERS. A lot of table tennis vids are biased towards Shakehanders.

  • @Irfan87 Yeah we are quite biased towards the shakehand grip. This is because most players in Australia (where I am from) are shakehand players so that is what we are most familiar with.

  • Hi im using long pimples for my backhand and i wonder can i use the same method to block topspin too?

  • @harry1549 As the long pimples doesn't have much friction, you need to use a different technique using this rubber. Often people try to chop the ball when using long pimples. Try using the Ask the Coach section of our website as we have more room there to answer your questions in detail.

  • I love your punch:)

  • Hi Pingskills..I need an tutorial for blocking backhand topspin coz it's very tough to block them...I hope that u vil help me..

    Thanks.

  • you make it easyer than it is:)

  • @salkstap It certainly does take a lot of practice.

  • @pingskills can you tell me how much i must practice to master the punch tehnic?

  • @salkstap That is difficult to answer. It really depends a lot on your current level. However it does take a long time to learn. Just keep practicing and it will come.

  • @pingskills thanks one more question in ping pong what strategy is better the atack or the defence?

  • hi.i watch your vids a lot and they have helped me a lot.but can you tell me how to kill the ball with a counter topspin near the table like the pros do.they wait for the ball to reach the highest point and they kill the ball than.thx.

  • Probably the best group that offers Table Tennis coaching.

  • Thanks so much pingskills! Finally, someone who responds to theie fans. Sorry about the yelling, lol, you computer wiz's crack me up. Anyways, I will definetly be at the site. I wish you where local! not theres probably not good coaches around, but I'd really like to work with a high level coach. I've been out of the game for 7 years, but I've recovered in a couple weeks very quickly with the help of a robot to get my old swing back. Anyways, thanks for all your help!

  • Never really used that punch, but I would say it is more difficult than the block! Thank you for the video!!!

  • dear alois and jeff..., thanks for posting this vid. now i know what to do when a ball with heavy topsin comes..... thanks and more power to you guys from yobmas722.

  • @yobmas722 Thanks for the kind words. I'm glad we could help you out. Make sure you check out our website as we have a lot of resources on there. For instance you can use the ask the coach section and ask us any Table Tennis question.

Good luck with your Table Tennis.

  • Nice video. Thanks!

  • Excellent explanation. Though I can do the first two types. But it sometime works sometime does not. Because I was not sure what exactly I am supposed to do. Now, I know. Hope I will be able to emulate it, first in practice and then in match. Thanks a lot.

  • @abed83a thanks for letting us know. I'm glad it helped you out. Take a look at our website as we have a lot more lessons and other sections of the website which I hope you can benefit from.

  • yeeeeeah MSAC!

  • i cant hear nothing

  • Lol,though it was the spinny and fast topspin service. But if is about the service of the spinny and fast topspin,DO NOT BLOCK THE BALL BUT JUST LIGHTLY HIT IT BACK!

  • the best instructor on youtube so far... but why using broken balls?

  • Круто мне очень помагло!!!!!! ))))

  • this is great

  • hehe i don't even play table tennis but your videos are very entertaining!!

  • next step is to..uhm..kick the f*** ball!!!

  • by the way...how do i stop my fore hand pushes from getting a bit too loopy

  • thanks man u are great...

  • WOW!

  • its relatively easy to return the ball as shown in the video, where the bounce is pretty high. id like to see the techniques against fast spinny balls that dont bouce too high, the kind high level players throw at you when you screw up and make make your serve too long

  • Is it smarter to do a slow spinny topspin or to try to counter attack the push?

  • and it comes quite slow so u can get enough time to get in the right position to give it a nice and hard smash.

  • a slow top spin ball is good to give a hard smash to it since it usually bounces back quite high in the air with lots of top spin.

  • So, my friend and I play ping pong a lot, and he's REALLLLYY good at punches to the backhand side for some reason, and it kinda messes with my head a little. Sometimes I can get a good RPB against it, but usually, i screw it up, especially because their nice shallow shots at a pretty good speed, and I have depth perception problems. Would you know exactly what I should do if I send the ball too shallow so that he goes into his annoying spin-less shallow punches again?

  • @DaKrazedKyubizt

ohp, correction, he likes jabs, not punchs. jabs. he's REALLY REALLY good at jabbing. I feel like it might be a problem with my shots coming in a bit too close too shallow. What should I do as a penholder if my friend jabs a shot to my backhand side?

  • these guys really give great advices and tips....i have learned so much just by practicing what these guys been sharing in their videos...nice job pingskills....peace yah all guys!

  • thanks a lot you really helped me.

  • Good audio this time!

  • good video 5/5

  • i mostly use the punch

  • Great help!

  • You're a great instructor.

  • @QuantumStates THANKS GUYS FOR SOME REALLY GOOD VIDS. I'VE BEEN OUT OF THE GAME FOR 6 YEARS AND AT 32, I REALLY WANT TO GET BACK BADLY! I WAS PLAYING AT AROUND A 1300 RANKING, AND I'M 2 WEEKS BACK WANTING TO GET TO A 1500 ASAP!!!! I MISSED THE GAME SOOOOOO MUCH, AND PLAN TO MAKE UP FOR MISSED TIME. WITH YOUR VIDS, IT HELPS ME GET THERE FASTER. THANKS ALOT!

  • @COUNTRYLAPI Welcome back to the game. Glad to see you setting some goals for yourself. If you need any help then let us know. We've got an ask the coach section on our website where you can ask any Table Tennis questions and read other peoples.

    Good luck getting to 1500!

  • @COUNTRYLAPI Why are you shouting? WE HEAR YOU!

  • I love you videos, amazing, thanks =)

  • the videos are great, keep it up! :)

  • the ball is high...what if low...

  • @PingMast exactly, and in most cases with topspin it will be because the top spin keeps the bounce close to the table and causes acceleration.

  • i would counter it with a reverse blackhand foreskin slammer ......SIDEKICKKKKK.

  • @starclad foresking haha

  • @starclad foreskin?

  • @ace51ful supposed to be forespin i am dyslexic.

  • @starclad foreskin? lol

  • @starclad blackhand?

  • @Pinoyaznboii using the black side attack to massacre his forespin and send him home for a early shower.

  • @starclad I thought is was foreskin?

  • @Pinoyaznboii I AM DYSLEXIC.

  • @starclad blackhand foreskin = backhand topspin?

  • @starclad foreskin? or topspin?

  • These videos are really helpful for a beginning player like me. Thank you for posting and keep up the good work :D

  • yes!!2 ears now i have a problem to my block!by the time i so the ping skills block lesson not only i improved it but also i punch the opoonets spin

  • thats a loop isnt it? what if he doesnt put heavy topspin but heavy sidespin with some topspin,we just move the direction of the racket?

  • Jup, or you can just countertopspin it like I do.

  • slow Topspin is the best topspin

  • is it just me or jeff got a lot thinner ???

  • this made me laugh

  • This is really helpful, thx guys, it makes me realise I've been playing purely on instinct and I want to learn these skills.

  • Lol at 3:25 i saw a bouncing ball at his lower left back at the corner

  • noooo...backhand is easier than forhand hehehe for me..

  • For me to..

  • your back hand punch is so much harder than your forehand! :)

  • Comment removed

  • I would greatly appreciate a video on returning long sidespin serves. I have a lot of difficulty controlling them, especially with my backhand

  • Comment removed

  • Same.

  • thanks very practical

  • pingskills really gives sound and professional techniques and advices...i'm sure this will greatly improve my play...thanks for the upload....peace!

  • turn up your left speaker

  • Usualy if you manage to give spinny topsin the point is yours. Eather he doesn't manage to put it on the table or if he puts it its hy enough to smash it

  • Thankyou really much for this video.

I am going to improve my technics thanks to this!

  • im using that when im in sleepy mode, while playing hahaha.. letting my enemy spins 100times,and i have 101 something like that.. nakz,hehehe,..

  • can`t hear you :D

  • turn on the volume?

  • turn up left speaker

  • The most effective way to counter a slow spinny topspin is to smash it. That is, quickly turn around to your backhand side to smash it with your forehand. It is like hitting an impressive "swing volley" in tennis in the middle of a tennis court!

  • what if the ball the opponent will return to you is short... what should i do..?? pls pm me,thnx... and show me some videos of mastered backhand serve..

  • i appreciate all the videos! it helps so much just by changing my grip to the "shake hold grip" has helped my forehand and backhand and my serves are killer! my game is 2-3 times better then before!!!!!!!!!! i love you pingskills

  • he sounds like Pete Murphy

  • Your my online coach

  • i really need this so i could beat my dad..he always smash whenever he wants to..his friend is good too but his style is different from us..the ball always spin so every time i hit it. It goes up or from different direction.

  • PingSkills has so improved my game that my 2 hitting partners don't come home to play with me anymore :-( I have a good loop going and they find it hard to return it. Up until last month, both used to turn up almost every evening. Now, all I get from them is excuses. I don't know if I should thank or curse PingSkills :-) Now I just lineup the table against the wall and hit out all by myself.

  • hahaha just have to tell you guys... These are the most enjoyable videos on youtube! I've Discovered a gem :)

I have a pretty amateur competition coming up that we hold every year at a summer camp. I'm usually in the top three, but this will definitely improve my game and hopefully I might just win :p

  • Hi,..Good luck bro...

  • Nice vid...

    taught me alot!

    thank you!

  • What about trying to chop the top spin? I usually try to do that. is that a good idea?

  • great video, thanks at all!

  • easyest thing to do in table tennis

  • Playing is easy. But it is winning that is tough. Have you played against somebody with a vicious loop and nasty sidespin? Even their serves are hard to return.

  • bet you cant do any better

  • lol shouldnt u just teach the punch because it is most effective in countering the spin as it is quick?

  • they're teaching all 3 because no single technique will be as effective when it's repeated to the point that your opponent can anticipate the shot every time.

    gotta mix it up!

  • yup ping skills does it again for me...very nice demonstration

i use the "soft hands" technique with people who topspin against me. it really throws them off...i mean really because they are confused how the ball stays low lmao :p

  • hi check out my table tennis videos like the 2009 green trophy and the 2009 jersey natwest open very good events check them out 5* and subscribe please for more

  • you guys do have very good acting

  • why do the rules say that there are only 2 possible grips the handshake and pencil? is it illegal to use neither of those?

  • You can hold it almost any way you want to. The two grips that have been developed the most because they have been shown to have the most success and potential are the shakehands grip and the penhold (chinese) grip.

  • They are trying to teach people who dont know how to play. If they just say hold it any way you want, its not really teaching them anything. Im sure if someone has a different grip they prefer, its fine.

  • you dont know anything about table tennis do you theres only three ways to hold the bat J-pen C-pen shankehand you fucking Dunce

  • butterflytablet. You are fucking gay. I hope you die.

  • ranko cicmil voli stoni tenis

  • great coacching...but my freinds play like lutong....i'm so sorry for him.....lutong is a kind of monkey.....his name CRUSHER RUN.

  • they are both shit

  • yes, this is a very good video, so many people at my old club tell me to hold the paddle very firm when blocking or hitting, and it just made matters worse. A soft loose grip i thought was better, and you have just confirmed that. Thank you. A relaxed musscle also moves much quicker then a tense one.

  • These are such a powerfull mov
