This video happened in 2008. CSULA students were protesting State mandated budget cuts to education. This due to less tax revenue because of the weak economy. What needs to happen the administration and the affected students need to dialogue more and more often, and look for alternative solutions and resources to manage the continuing downward spiral of Academia.
The state budget is $145 billion and the deficit is $20 billion, which is why tuition isn't going down. One thing the state could do is to eliminate all services to illegals ($11 billion in savings), as Congressman Tancredo of Colo. suggested. The state could default on pensions, which isn't too likely. Or the govt. could print money to pay its bills. They tried that in Zimbabwe and the result was 10,000% inflation. Read "Trillion Dollar Meltdown" and learn how bad things really are.

Most college students are screaming and protesting, but they don't even vote.
