I am a noob, and I started playing for like 2 weeks ago. I had heard that DotA was a good map, so I dl-ed it, and played the first dota game online^^ I did 6-10 deaths, then I left ...

but, instead of joining another, I dl-ed the AI map for dota, and I am now watching these vids on youtube, and I never play dota online (not yet, gotta get better)..

itsn't this what any noob would do? I mean, who bothers to die 6-10 times every match without doing anything about it? xD

heh lol to be honest all players know what pawned and owning means but its hard to explain XD every time in dota when you kill someone you get message example "IceEdge pwned somebody" so its like kill ? :P

you can buy teleport scroll in shop or boots of travel (they have skill = teleport) other form of teleport is blink, blink strike etc :P

pawned means u killed some1 or u beat him SO BADLY like easily.... owning means ur kicking ass basically like ur in a very hihgh state of winning and ur just killing everytin in ur way so ur OWNING u own everyone.....

teleport u have to buy a scrool in one of the shops search for it

Another thing if you are a complete newbie : Don't go on battle-net. Like other people have said before me, most players there don't like beginners. Download the latest AI map and start going against bots on easy, preferably 3v3. (Easy do not gank and jungle, while normal does this). It could be kind of hard because these bots have near perfect last hitting and denying capability, but they are still easy to beat. Newbie friendly heroes I recommend : Razor, DSniper, Sven, Zeus, and Viper.

well, i play dota for more than 4 years now and i have to say, earlier it was way better than it is now... every fucking game at least 3 leavers... but its not only the leavers, if u would have joined a game 2 years ago and u are noob there would have been maybe 1 person complaining about it... but now the whole fucking team is pissed off (and even the other team)... thats really sad... the whole community has changed considerably !i want the old days back!^^

I think the best way to learn is to actually just watch people play it. I used to hang out at this cafe where people play it (this was years ago), and I would just watch. I pretty much learned a lot from that: Techniques, item builds, general knowledge, recipes, etc. On my very first game I challenged one of the local guys there, I used a Nerubian Assasin while he used a Slayer. Needless to say, I pwned the crap out of him. So don't be afraid to just sit back and watch, it's never enough.

when you download it you dont have to pay for it ar anything but you can only capture 30 seconds of movie, after 30 secs it ends capturing and you push your button again to capture :P or buy to capture as much as you want ^^

sure :) and lol relax :) all were newbie when they started remember that :) so 1. you just press "enter button" and write "miss" thats all :) this will give your team mates time to get back to tower. 2. shift + enter = talk to all :) when you press theese two you will se your dialog box changed name "to everyone" or something like that 3. to whisper you write in dialog box "/w" and after that a nick :) my nick is IceEdge so you write "/w IceEdge hi hi hi whats up"

well its not that easy to kill ai heroes when u are a noob since ai run to their base if they are low on hp xD ... and btw... do they gain speedbonus the less hp they have, or am i stupid (and as ruseek says, ai is not really to train skills but to learn hero abilities, items and stuff, but there will never be an ai-map which will replace a human behind the enemy hero ;)

oh ^^ simple you start game write mode example -ap and you go with your mouse on scourge taverns and just choose hero from there :) you see that or not ? in bottom left corner you have sentinel taverns and in upper right corner you have scourge taverns just go there and select one of their taverns and choose hero :) if you have other questions just ask :) i hope i helped :)
