  • is this in standard tuning?

  • Fuck. Give us the damn chords !

  • Not bad. Ended too soon

  • great

  • супер и бес всяких примочек )

  • Cool

  • A true led zeppelin fan

  • I wanna see how to play it in the key it is written in.Its easy in E, but the original key is F.

  • @ronny1note The original is even easier, tune to E, A, C, F, A, C get a slide and then feel the groove!

  • @333joemc original is CFCFAC 100%

  • dude how about some tabs? Awesome cover Keep up the good work! :)

  • That is awesome man, could you say what the chords you used were? Thanks!

  • @Trevb17 G E A B C D

  • Man.. if you can tell me the chords for this id appreaciate it

  • а чо клёва аще. молодец парень.

  • excellent!

  • Put a shirt on.

  • @Josabeech yeah. Whats the matter with you, man? Put a shirt on!

  • Fuckin nice dude

  • Always loved the song, but always hated the boys taking the writing credit. If it's in the public domain, the credit should have read "public domain". Just because you have the right do so something doesn't always mean you should do it.

  • ahhahah i figured it out

  • ROCK ON!

  • sounds great, i dont think its the wrong key like somebody else said

  • @pulsarcolosal yeah it is, he's playing in E and the original's in F.

  • @tombolo191 if you say so, my ear is not that good at telling keys

  • @tombolo191 the "original" is a studio version that was rarely performed live (twice, i think) and then changed into different tunes, so...as far as im concerned, there's no "original" key.

im sure they used a capo, being it the sound of an open Emajor guitar chord. It's in F, but the figure is an E.

    cheers, mate, good ear!

  • @jokerjerez They performed it in Brussels 12.1.1975, and in Chicago on 1.20.1975. Hope this helps :)

  • holy crapppp that's aweome.

    how.

    standard tuning?

    i want to learn now.

  • yo man,that's rockin!!

  • wrong key, but props anyways.

  • great sound

  • love you (sun) ;D

  • Chords?

    Tabs?

    Please?

  • too short man.....I was just getting in to it.

  • Copado.

  • i love your almost lazy way of playing very nice

  • good job! that was pretty sweet

  • Great version. Think you/someone could help me out with the very beginning? It looks like just an E with the ring finger switching btwn string 5 fret 2 and string 6 fret 3 but I keep trying that and they sound too similar to really tell, not like when you play. Amazing arrangement, I'd love to be able to play it like this.

  • real good this has a very good sound

  • Hey man, that was an amazing arrangement. Do you reckon you could tell me the chords, i had a little trouble trying to pick em' up from the video. Cheers Man, Peace Out

  • I love this video! All Major Chords E, C, D, then E, E formed like a D, B, A, B, D, E! Follow this man's playing, but shift one note up, and this is Page's key in F! Therefore, F Dflat, Eflat, Then F F formed like a D, C, Bflat, C, Eflat, F! Try it! I ran thru the Page chords and with a Dreadnought, it will ring true! The lead is a little harder, but if you are jamming with someone, use a 12 to pick the lead!

  • This Version is Excellent! The open E rings true, and the space chording is superior! Only flubbed the one B chord! Could you do the whole tune and really entertain us? I wish i still had my B25-12 now! Who cares if the dude shows skin? I suggest a slightly thinner pick to let the chords Chime better! Page slowed the tape on the orig! Best when heard thru phones! If you ran this thru a reverb box, WOW! Try a full version, We'll Wait!

  • nice playing, man. I've been looking for a way to play this in standard tuning. also, you look like jim morrison, a bit.

  • That was fucking cool!

  • Fantastic Job!!!!

could you show the chords used? I would love to learn to play it this way!!!

  • one of my favorite zep songs. nice work. Try "Going to California" on acoustic; it sounds awesome.!!

    peaceoutyo. jimbo

  • pretty nice dude

    could i have the tab?

    plz:)

  • Pretty nice

  • sounds really good! ;)

and for the machos writing comments here: he doesn´t need to put any t-shirt on.

  • I can work with this. I like the idea of not having to tune down to that weird one-off tuning.

  • What guitar are you using?

Also, good intrepretation of this song.

  • Heavy acoustic!! You can't beat a heavy acoustic - when there's no power left he'll be OK :)

  • ok first of all put on a friggen shirt

    otherwise good job!

  • é, tá massa!!

  • why does this bring back memories of the 70's ?

and when is the heroin dude going to show up ??

  • When does the heroin guy show up?

  • Some sick ass stuff dude!

  • sorry bro thats close but not how jimmy does it

  • word

  • I thought this was going to be a total train wreck. But I was supprised it was not bad.

  • Can you tab this??

  • what chords are these

  • Great job. Excellent syncopation.

  • please sleep with me.

  • its played with a slide but good

  • ohhhhhhhhh, CARL BARAT!!!!!!!!!!!

  • whoever you are-you play guitar very well. But we need a drum to begin this.

  • Great job well played AAA

  • Whats up Tommy Lee!

  • tommy lee? if anything jim morrison.

  • Or maybe a homeless dude.

  • bon scott? is that you?

  • NICE

  • did u do it in the crazy tuning or is this in standard? the reason its in such a weird tuning is cuz the tape was slowed down after it was recorded, or maybe speed up but anyway thats the reason its in such a weird tuning.

  • awesome song

and if you need tabs just go to google type when the levee breaks tabs and use the ones from ultimate-guitar and also in case you dont forget to look at the tuning

  • are you tuned standard for this?

  • NICE

  • You look strangely like Bon Scott.

  • HAHAHA! dude you're right

  • good job!

  • you play with feeling

  • Send my the tabs! the one I got arnt correct-_-xD

  • Did you ever get the tabs for Levee?

  • That guitar sound's healthy as fuck, good job man!!

  • r u serious..if you hate people who smoke pot than you must hate LZ as well. in their day they probably smoked more refer than Bob Marley. I think this guys cover is awesome

  • This sounds so powerful, I love it, great work!

  • doing good man almost there give it a while another fun tune is over the hills and far away

  • good video

  • Everybody's talkin it but noone's puttin up. Post your video responses if your gonna talk shit. I think your hittin it in the beginning but you were off a bit half way through. The beginning though sounds good man.

  • Then get the little tyke out to show us what he can do. That's certainly better than I could do without a computer, lol, but not quite at a professional level.

  • At least I don't suck my 12 year old bro.

  • Gee, a "bro" and a "sisiter": that must be quite the inbred "fimalay".

  • you tell em scorpio

  • your timing is poor - chords/phrasing good

  • actually you guys are both wrong,he did give credit,i just got the mothership dvd/cd box set and in the book it clearly states that thet memphis minnie and some other guy wrote this about the missippi delta flood of 1927 ,so there you go

  • The song was originally by Memphis Minnie. It was NOT copyrighted and was in public domain. In other words, Jimmy had every right to use this song and make it his own.

  • @SqueezeMyLemonBabe - also, there is one part where it sounds like Plant is trying to do a "Howlin' Wolf" impression... This song was totally inspired by the old bluesmen.

  • roberto1988

Yes, he did douche bag. I bought that album in the 70's saw credit to Memphis Minnie on it. I thought who the fuck is that??

  • Jimmy Page was pretty skinny himself you know.

  • Why u lookin at his chest anyway?

  • That was awesome!

  • i appreciate your post victor...i found it entertaining, informative, educational, and enlightening. it's great that an artist/musician has the ability, willingness, and this forum to share his interpretation of another's work. keep up the good work, and stay positive.

  • yeah the guitar was great. he did it good. not a bad job, but no offense i just think he was trying a little too hard to be sexy....

other than that, good. im not tryin to bag on this guy cause i mean, hes playin zeppelin, but still, you dont just make a video without thinking to put a shirt on.

  • yeah....jimmy never played without a shirt..wait a second, maybe he..aaargh! plant always had a shirt some/part of the time er show i mean..crap! forget it, i'm really tired

  • plant almost never had a shirt on, but he did have a button up that was unbuttoned =P

  • STUDIOKID .... got nothign against ya bruv im totaly with he couldnt play to studio quality ..... *smerk* fucking of course he could you dick ... bet your some fucking wanna be know it all who sits inside reading a book of some sort all day then logs onto youtube to share you new found words ... its started off with "it" and "the" were now moving on to words like "professional" HAHA get a life dick face

  • nice guitar playin, wish i could play that, shame he wasnt lookin at the guitar or the cam tho, well at least he was being rock n roll like back in the day

  • Simon, I mean StudioSuperKing, you're a cunt. A giant, bleeding cunt.

    Okay, good talk.

  • StudioSuperKing.... i'm a random zeppelin fan who happened to stumble upon this video... i looked at your comments... and no offense dude.... but you are a total d-bag that needs to get a life and stop baggin on some random guy and start talkin shit like you are all high and mighty... if you know anything about musuci than tell me what tuning this song is actually supposed to be played in

  • page plays "the levee "on a 12 string

  • very good

  • I didn't ask for your phone number, or any personal information, simply some of your clients, shouldn't you be eager to tell us about all the great names that you have worked with? I know if I were what you *say you are, I would be telling anyone that asks. I just can't believe that you are so dellusional that you actually think you are some big shot, uh,what did you say you were exactly?

  • i think you forgot to wear ur shirt

  • For the record I never lashed out or insulted anyone. I stated that this person has not demonstrated the skill to perform at studio level quality.

The only insults arose from your schizoid, immature anger attacking me for no reason. The only reason you would have for attacking me, junior with no future, would have been if I had incorrectly said this performance is not up to par. So go fuck yourself with one of your other personalities.

  • By the way, Vic, nice attempt at playing the ukelele. Real...special.

  • Well it's official:Studiosuperking you are A PHONY AND A LIAR, the worst youtube has to offer. It is really sad that you feel the need to lie to others and yourself, if you are that insecure with who you really are, then get some help man, please, for your own good, go and discover the buddha nature inside youself. It is now clear why you feel the need to lash out and insult others and throw around wild accusations like meth use, cause you are INSECURE.

  • Tell you what, asswipe. Why don't YOU tell everyone the name of YOUR school and hand out YOUR phone number to prove you're a mechanical engineering student. What's that I hear? Your cowardly ass won't do that, why?

Oh yeah, it's stupid to give out personal information over the NET.

And, by the way, nothing of your weak crap helps "Vic" (in your many manifestations) play the guitar worth a shit.

  • Oh yeah, and while you're at it, I'll give you some career advice. Don't become a mechanical engineer. People who think they know things when they don't know things aren't appreciated by people who know things. Remember to try and kick the drugs, child.

Until your next insult, I remain.

  • omg this is crap. I'd say don't quit the day job, but you all obviously live your lives waiting for the next welfare check to come so you can blow it on meth.

  • im a college student studying to be a mechanical engineer, and i dont, have never done, and never will do meth. By the way lets hear some of the names of the bands, you have failed to tell us of the great bands you have helped record music. i feel as if you are avoiding answering the question, so lets hear some names already or you will be forever known as a phony and a liar.

  • Maybe you don't realize this, but I don't owe you any explanation of myself, my immensely successful business, or the reason I bothered to point out to this now-regarded-because-of-shitheads-like-you CHUMP that he wasn't up to par. I contact potential talent, they do not contact me, and I see yet again that the world is mostly composed of whining bitches who think they're all that.

Take another hit off the pipe, meth mouth.

  • I only ask that because every guitar tab I find has it in the open tuning, and it doesn't have standard tuning chords

  • What chords are you hitting?

  • You all really hate the truth. That's why you play shit guitars on your mom's couch and upload them to YouTube. Now if you'll excuse me, there's real talent on this thing that needs my immensely professional attention.

    Little jealous bitches.

  • and your works include? you sound like you're more concerned with epuiment and money than actual accomplishments, which you have yet do describe to us. please tell us what great band(s) you have recorded with to create your millions? or should i say billions? of dollars?

  • Only millions, thanks. I do not sound concerned with equipment and money. I sound concerned with studio quality performance.

None is displayed in this submission, as per my original comment.

Pursant to repeated denials of reality, the whole lot of you have received free advice. Namely, you're a bunch of wannabes. ANY worthy musician would dispense the same advice.

Jealous, jealous losers, when will you learn that the world doesn't care about you?

  • Just wanted to say Jimmy uses an open tuning for this song. You are still hitting the right chords though and the feel is great. Good one man.

  • Pfft.

  • you amuse me.

  • aaa que bien, buendo dios

  • no pues rejodido tocar eso mucho putas...

    idiota

  • Tenga cuidado, porque soy dios.

  • omg, i don't know spanish, what does this say??? SOMEBODY PLEASE TELL ME WHAT HE SAID!!!

  • Look dude, here's the deal, I don't have time to prove exactly how bloody right I am, which I am. Okay, it's a guy doing a guitar riff on YouTube. Fine, but my point is, this is not studio quality, and guys shouldn't get sensitive when professionals correct them on their shoddy knowledge. Prove me wrong, though, and learn to play barre chords, and wow, I'll be so impressed.

  • sick!!!! it was great dude

  • looks like E/G-E-G-A

  • there will never ever be a band as good as led zeppelin. that was a really awesome demo, loved it

  • Dude, so how long have you been in the throes of heroin addiction??

  • Dude! You need to play with the LZepp and PFloyd tribute band that just rolled into TX this weekend. They used some guitarist named Tom Jones from VA. Symphony musicians said he screwed up a bit. You play and look the part of Page. Represented?

  • lmao...you'll go broke, sahib

  • The harmonica never sounds right played live because it uses a studio trick of a backwards echo. This actually puts the echo ahead of the sound.

  • Er, they recorded that part in the stairwell of a mansion.

  • actually they just recorded the drums there.

    sounds so good victor

  • Popular misconception that separates the pros from the fans. This is far from studio quality.

  • hm well unless you are getting paid in the music industry, you aren't a pro either.

it's a youtube video of just the guitar part. how could you expect studio quality?

  • I own a recording studio and have thirty artists under contract. I can hear a guitar being played correctly through a nuclear explosion, and this particular performance is not strut-worthy material.

  • your credentials are meaningless unless you have proof

  • Lmao. My credentials are meaningless, that's true. Why don't you prove how wrong I am that this is utter shite by going and pulling down a contract? I'd be real impressed then.

I'm not the bad guy here, reality is.

  • i own a recording studio

  • Yeah, what, a PD100 with ProTools? Look, kiddies and addicts, it's real simple. You spend all your time arguing on the Internet. I spend mine creating millions and millions of dollars in the music industry. Therefore, I laugh at you and your meager attempts to imitate professionals.

  • i never knew people with egos as big as yours were allowed to comment on youtube. can i have your autograph? and what *amazing bands have you recorded? you sound just like christopher walken in "cowbell"..."I put my pants on one leg at a time, the only difference is that after i put my pants on i make gold records" i'm suprised you didn't get your secretary to post this comment, it actually lookslike you spend a fair amount of time commenting on youtube, you fucking chazzball.

  • Sorry, I only speak to musicians. Why don't you pick on some kid at the barber shop in your little cow town and leave the music business to us pros. And I have time between money counting sessions to point out how badly certain losers suck, because we pros have something called standards that we're held to.

  • i like it

  • this dude looks and plays like rock n roll! Good job man!

  • That's because the song was too hard to play live.

  • Good job. Levee was one of the few songs Zeppelin hardly ever played live in concert.

  • Hey good work buddy i was wondering how to tune the strings the c-A-F-C without a tuner

  • Screw it. I'll do it that way, I learned it in like 30 seconds, perfect for breaking the tune out quick. Nice!

  • Badass man. Rock on.

  • ya need drums for this song man but good job

  • thats an E version.. and i lub it!!! xD
