Bro u need to take off cylinder to clean valves correctly ! So u cleaned all parts while cylinder in bike ??????? i believe all u cleaned was the external linkage ... u need to take the linkage and valves out of cylinder to get carbon buildup off etc ... and why wud you wait 2 yrs when the job can be done in couple hrs correctly with cyl off

@2strokedkx250 its one valve on a cr.nah I cleaned the whole thing.And if U watch the video in its entirety u will see how gunked up it was and how it came out when I finished..I soaked the flapper valve over night in gas...The undue crud was from the prior owner using maxima...yamalube r is what I later used...however this bike is sold now but I am very good friends with the new owner and Im happy to say the bike still runs strong.

Like the other guy I have 03Kx 250, and my neighbor has a Cr 250, Both of these bikes have a metallic ping when reved real high(sand pit and road riding). My noise sounds like its exyernal from the cylinder and does not effect the performance of the motor. Did you ever have noise come from the PV? even the shops don't seem to have an answer except bring it in and we'll take a look at it-@75 a hour.

Any clue why the power valve linkage from the bottom end would be stuck, i just did a top end rebuild but can't get the linkage up to hook to the power valve any advice?

@megawhip1 cr250 rev limiter kicks in at just about 9000rpm 12000is impossible and will most likly result in death of a 2 stroke engine

@dh4life100 This is Motorakid,I think the 03's are electronic,dont know how different the mechanical peices are,mine U have to take off the side panel,take the linkage on the side and there are screws.u have to take out two pins one from each side and snake the bevel flap out the exhaust port,look for a schematic online.

But Do you know what the powervalve actualy does? iknow it activates at like 5k rpm. but is it like a boost or something? lol just been really wondering the real purpose of it. like an older 250 i had i dont remember it having a power valve.

is this a 2001 cr250. id like to clean mine out to mine has the rc valve its a 2002.. the cable for the rc valve was loose so the exhaust valve wasnt opening all the way. .when i tightened it up what a difference. alot of times when people think they have jetting issues. it is the exhaust valve.

You can check the piston if when Yoy will take off expansion chamber, use torch and You can see condidion of piston and rings

@110marmon Dont worry about it,But dont be messin with those screws too much, that wil affect the amount of air to fuel mixture and u could lean it out, which would not be good, try and keep them where they were at if its running clean .mx two strokes dont usually idle.

There are two pins that go through it when u take off both covers amd take the actuater apart u pull out the pins and slide the pwer valve though the exhaust in the front of the engine after the pipe is off too.
