No, your special infected is randomized. Although in L4D2 there cant be 2 of the same infected at the same time.

you start as either infected or survivors. (4 on each team). The survivors will play through trying to reach the next safe house, once everyone dies or they succesfully reach the safe house the teams are swapped and the infected then get a turn to play as survivors. It cycles like this for each saferoom.

If you spawn as a hunter, and die emediately, the most probable opening there will be is hunter only, so quickly dying will make you more likely to become what you just died as. If you are skilled, and survive longer, the chances of another opening to be available are greater.

It depends on what is already spawned, so what he said makes some sense, seeing as if you die quickly, chances are your team is still alive, so you're more likely to fill the same spot. Not always true, of course.
