HoooWeee! Dressed like clowns? Wish they'd use those hoglegs on some of today's "country" artists. I'm sure that Dale Watson would strap one on and help them!
Those outfits are just surreal. It's kind of sad, in a way. Three titans of country music and they dress them up like clowns. On the other hand, fun is fun, so what the heck.
Ummm no actually, you and adamgoodale are wrong once again. Do your research kids. It takes a simple look at the songwriting credits and you'll see George Jones and Darrell Edwards wrote it together, and if I'm not mistaken George recorded it in 1955,and then Webb Pierce and Red Sovine recorded it another year or two later. So...yeah kids, believe it or not,George did actually have a career prior to 1961.

@mrrhum That's the way they dressed back then ,they had class, which they don't have today.
gabrielle931 2 years ago
I don't know if I'd call that class. Goofy is more like it. You never saw Bill Monroe got up like that. It was all for fun anyway.

Well then who is?
And dont say "hank" cause the only reason people are crazy about him is because he was so popular and then he died.
gospelmusiclover48 3 years ago
People also like Hank Williams because he was so good, and he swung a lot, musically speaking! All of them were great in those days though!

Why, baby why was written by George Jones\
Darrell Edwards.George released it in 1955
and it became either his first single hit or in his first 5 top hits. It's momentum was a cover version by Webb Pierce and Red Sovine.
that hit no.1 on the country charts.

jocelynn62985 4 years ago

The tall guy looks and sounds like Carl Smith. Is the short guy in the middle Marty Robbins? There's no mic on him for his solo.
