Is it just me or does the Amtrak train appear to bounce just to the right of the crossing? I was up here back in September visiting a friend in Elkhart and we passed by this location a couple times while there. Can't wait to get up there again.
that amtrak is probably bouncing still from the turnout just east of that crossing, i cross the tracks right there all the time and an tell you it isn't the smoothest thing in the world
Yeah, I know I could get better shots, but I feel so uncomfortable doing so. Next time I might sit in the little patch of grass on the left, but I'm not too sure about the middle area with the billboard.
I railfan because I want to relax and enjoy passing trains, not to always get the greatest shots on video. Sorry! I will try to get better shots, because I do like to satisfy my viewers. I'm just sayin that that isn't the only reason I railfan. I hope I don't sound like a jerk saying that.

Next time you are there get a little closer to the action before you. I see a walking trail and a couple of spots where you can get different clips.
Imagine the jump you'd feel if walking around in one of those cars and the train hits the bump at 79mph. You'd give a rabbit a bad name.
