  • how many silince?

  • when appears the silence?

  • SHIT! That is a LOT of Silents.

  • i love the bbc, even on youtube they dont decide to use adverts

  • tik tok goes the clock tik tok goes the clock tik tok goes the clock doctor brave and good his tender ways to violence when he understood the falling of the silence

tik tok tik tok as the old song says

  • To sum The Wedding of River Song in the simplest way possible: "He's a doctor, he can deal with it."

And anyone who still thinks for Steven Moffat to get rid of River... there's at least two or three more major events that she and the Doctor (whether 11th or 12th) will have to cross into each other, according to Silence in the Library/Forest of the Dead (Series 4).

  • Im Lovin this :P

  • Doctor Who's one of best sci-fi series! Ever! ;)

I think Matt Smith is doing a brilliant job.

  • doctor breave and good, he turned away from violence

when he understood the falling of the silence

  • Our TV shows > ALL :D

  • doctor who?

  • one of the best episodes EVER

    ;D

  • OMG!!! BEST FRICKEN TWIST EVER!!!

  • Awesome!!!!!!!

  • why do they always wear eyepatches?

  • Best ending of the series yet! Great episode. Had no idea how it was going to be resolved. We all knew that the Doctor was going to live. I mean come on! Didn't guess that one. Great ending. And the ultimate question has been asked. But silence didn't fall? huh? I didn't even see that one coming. Already waiting in baited breath for the new series. CAN. NOT. WAIT!

  • @moviesrocks2 Silence only falls when the question is asked "on the fields of Trenzalore, at the fall of the Eleventh, when no living creature may speak falsely or fail to give answer" eg. when someone asks the Doctor's name and he /has/ to answer truthfully.

  • @xcarmella Thanks. I couldn't quite understand what the heck Dorian said. Still not quite clear. But the prophecy says that Silence will fall when the question is asked. Not answered, only asked. So Dorian asked it, what does that mean for the future? Totally mute Doctor? That would be interesting. Ok, I understand it now. Takes a while to figure it out. I hope that he never goes to that planet. It would ruin the who mystique of who the Doctor is. If his name is John Smith, I will cry.

  • @moviesrocks2 I don't think we'll ever actually know his name, no matter whether it's "revealed" in an episode or not. I mean, I'm pretty sure Moffat hasn't made one up. There was an interview somewhere where he was saying that it'd ruin the mystery, whether it was something really ordinary or even something really alien, because either way then we'd know it and it wouldn't be the same. So I don't think Moffat'd ever give him one.

  • @moviesrocks2 LOL Now I'm thinking of Doctor 10 telling Martha that he HATES pears and about the character John Smith that he made up. He didn't want to wake up in a couple of months and taste THAT.

  • @soldiergirl84 The Name John Smith was mentioned in the very first episode ith William Hartnell when Victoria was listening to music by a John Smith.

  • @xcarmella Actualy Dorium said that "Silence must fall would be a better translation" and if you cange will to must it goes as" Silence must fall when the question is asked" meaning that no one must be able to answer the question. And that was the Silence's purpose. the Doctor never to answer that question even though we know he does at least for one person.

  • @GateStarX: Karen Gillan has signed on for Series 7.

  • The Doctor does't die and the doctor doesn't regenerate

they are all eady working on a series 7 with matt smith as the doctor. The only bad thing is that he is most likely gonna have a new companion.

  • ...another badly written one.

    WORST

    FINAL EPISODE

    EVERRRR!!

  • @MrHEC381991 I disagree (even though I was betting the doctor would escape that way) but all in all this episode was perfect even though the ending was obvious (well almost)

  • @scAlpha7 i call it Lazy Writing myself

  • Comment removed

  • The doctor told us we always need to have hope even in the most difficult of times. Well, THIS IS A VERY DIFFICULT TIME FOR ME! And I have hope that Moffat can get the doctor out of this situation. It has already been established that the doctor dies on that day by the Impossible astronaut and he does not regenerate. So, naturally, Moffat has to go against what's already been established and blow all of our freaking minds away. What does the doctor say again? Oh, right, time can be REwritten.

  • Worst ending ever. Such a failiure. But it would have sucked if they'd have done it any other way so I can't complain

  • HE LIVES!!!!!!!!!!

  • THE DOCTOR LIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIVES

  • When David Tennant's Doctor meets River right before she dies, she tells him about the last time she sees him. She says that he showed up at her door step with a "new face" and he cried when he gave her the sonic screwdriver. That means that the Doctor cannot die, he is going to regenerate. Otherwise what River says in the future will all change.

  • @eHolmes815 i thought she said it was a haircut and a new suit

  • "The laws of time are mine... and they will obey me!" 10th doctor... he saved a someone with a fixed death there whats to stop him doing it now.

  • i love doctor who

  • The clip of the silence in the water and also the clip of river is in the trailer. Why did they include prequel clips in the series 6 trailer then?

  • @Who7100 Maybe there is an silience in the water with her? To give her orders? Wait, there was also an clip with nazi's in the first trailer and i didn't see that in Let's kill Hitler. I guess all will be explained tonight! :D

  • tick tock, goes the clock, tick tock goes the clock, tick tock, goes the clock, doctor brave and good he turned away from violence, when he understood the falling of the silence.

I think we'll find out the question, or the doctor will.. wonder how this ep will go. I'll be dissapointed if we dont get SHIT TON of answers.

  • Doctor, brave and good, he turned away from violence

When he understood the falling of the Silence.

  • What do they say at 0:42 "Doctor, brave and ??? he turned away from violence"?

  • where do they get these creepy little girl songs from??

  • @victim109 bills creepy girl consortium in southern wales. they have an office in the US in nevada, that's where wes craven gets his from.

  • there is another series starting in autumn 2012

  • am i the only one who prays the doctor that dies on the beach is a "flesh" doppelganger

  • @BlueBloodW0lf future historians note his death there as a fixed point in time that cannot be changed, unless he like reboots the universe again or something.

  • @tuseroni ha ha that's like his answer for everything now is it? anyway as the guy in the top comments said no writer would just decide to kill the doctor off after 50 years of successful broadcasting!

  • @BlueBloodW0lf yeah i dont think they will, but i dont think it will be something as simple as being a 'ganger. he has to destroy time or reboot the universe, or pop into a parallel universe, or something or time gets all wibbly wobbly timey wimey and things go bad.

  • @tuseroni Stephen Moffat would have thought of something! if there is no big revelation and it is as cut and dry as everyone saw in "the impossible astronaut" then i'm done with "schi-fi" shows!

  • @BlueBloodW0lf Nah. If that were so, he would've exploded into a lifeless pile of Flesh.

  • Getting a wee bit bored of River Song tbh

  • @TheFuMaster Good for you.

  • just a little scary :L

  • The Doctor, in the entire 900 years that he's been travelling. He has almost died sooooo many times that I can't even count. e.g. let's kill hitler, the big bang, flesh and stone etc. so he will most likely get out of this one too.

  • @SINLO95J Difference between this death is "pre-destined" and we already know from past events that it fucking happens.

  • Those bubbles look like letters...or is that just me?

  • I've been hoping for the return of the Rani and so far all of the threats the Dr has faced could have been engineered by her.....

  • Can sombody tell me. i know what the silence is but what the song all about. i now it about the doctor but what does it mean.

  • Can sombody tell me. i know what the silence is but what the song all about. i now it about the doctor but what does it mean.

  • But how can the doctor who met amy and rory and river in the diner know amy and rory if he's 200 years younger?? And it wouldn't change anything cause he's a time traveller as he was with rose when he was like 909 or something?? I'm not too sure,, but maybe I'm just being stupid and I've missed something.

    :)

  • @jjjack32 the doctor ages much slower then a human because hes not human so there was a possiable a long time between rose and the next companion

  • @jjjack32 its simple, rule number 1: the doctor lies.

he told them he was 1000 something, he seemed to be muddling through the journal syncing with river when they first met in the episode. when amy asks he says his age she says "you were 900(something) last i seen you" he just snidely remarks "and you are looking a bit fat but i wasnt gonna say anything" or something to that effect to change the subject, after the event they meet the doctor who is the age amy said the doctor was last time.

  • @jjjack32 so to tie up the dcotors in play:

doctor who died was the doctor from this last episode, the doctor they met in the diner afterwards was the doctor from season 5 so season 5 doctor meets them in the diner after getting a letter from the doctor in this last episode, goes through all that in this last season til the last episode when he sends the message to himself and amy and rory and river and goes to his death.

the real issue is why was there 2 rivers in the same spot.

  • Anyone else notice that the lake is called Lake Silenico (or something like that), and that is an obvious reference to Silence will fall.

  • just one BIG thing I wanna say GTFO on television season finale I wanna watch you so much I don't care you have a time machine I don't I can't travel and go watch it. D';

  • Almost every single episode we know that the main characters will get out okay. (ish) The exciting part is finding out /how/. That is going to be fun.

  • Can't wait for this episode!!!

If you want, you can watch my trailer for this:

    /watch?v=Jq6isHmR6UY

  • #Doooctor, Brave and good, he turned away from violence. When he understooood he wasn't dying after all because he was signed up for the 2012 serieeees.#

  • it cant be a flesh copy that was killed at the lake as it would have turned to goo, they cremated his body remember??

  • @supersonicjatt But the Doctor made the flesh dude real at the end of the two-parter episode. Presumably that means that he won't melt when he dies. So could the Doctor do the same to himself?

  • we all know the doctor is going to die but somehow he'll come back to life and then everything will go back to normal until the next time

  • My guess is that the doctor who gets shot is a flesh copy.

  • @SirKnobofCheese Yeah, that's a definite possibility. How else will they get around it.

  • @SirKnobofCheese But can flesh copies regenerate?

  • silencio means silence in spanish coincidence?

  • I really wish they would kill off River Song, she is bloody annoying

  • @Saminatorger they did kill her off in Forest of the Dead, this is during the time that she was alive

  • @Saminatorger We know she won't be killed off. She died in Forest of the Dead. Way to pay attention.

  • @RoyalGuard503 Just to be obnoxious, Time Can be Rewritten

  • To the people who ever think The Doctor is going to get killed off:

No writer has the balls to kill off The Doctor after almost 50 glorious years.

  • @619Gotenks They wouldn't be able to do it in an epic enough way.

  • @619Gotenks you obviously dont know about british writers they have bollocks the size of boulders they will end doctor who despite how long it has run but, i pray to GOD that they dont end it but, the BBC is in serious finacial trouble which means serious trouble for doctor who.

  • @doctorw2 I am British, born and raised, so that's not it. The Master went through all his regenerations then came back, who's to say the show couldn't keep going forever?

  • @619Gotenks if the BBC goes bust doctor who ends unless the americans decide to pick it up on their cable channels. there is too much animosity toward doctor who becuase of the stigma of it being a childrens show. in order for the show to get the respect it deserves they must raise the bar a bit and make doctor who a mature sci fi drama they might as well go ahead and do this becuase they have already introduced mature themes in doctor who already.

  • @doctorw2 The show was very childish with RTD in charge, but Moffat has 'matured' the show a lot since.

  • This is the illuminati i swear down

  • @XsecretXIdentityX

Not that one. The flesh one, from the acid place?

  • Guys, yes Matt Smith is still playing as the Doctor but come on follow the fictional story not what happens behind the scenes.

  • @XsecretXidentityX i do believe they mean the flesh of the 11th doctor. From the Almost People. Yeah.

  • oooooooooooooooh right as it said "the doctors date with destiny" the lights in my room flashed. creeeeeeeeeeeepy

  • oooooooooooooooh right as it said "the doctors dat with destiny" the lights in my room flashed. creeeeeeeeeeeepy

  • @Hoogleflaaggle the regeneration limit had something to do with the eye of haramony on Gallifrey (Or in the TARDIS if you trust the movie). As Gallifrey no longer exists, there is no longer a limit to the ammount of regenerations.

  • Full HD on the BBC main channel! Must of used the Doctors sonic screwdriver!

  • This is the best doctor who trailer ever:

    /watch?v=Jq6isHmR6UY

  • People seem to forget that the Doctor that dies was about 1100 years old, but the Doctor that we see the most is only 900-something. Even if the Doctor truly died, we still have 200 years of stories with him! (And River... Remember the notebook? Jim the fish, anyone?)

  • You know, I think that announcing the Christmas Special takes away the magic.... I mean technology

  • I still think that the doctor who gets shot is a flesh one. Remember the flesh one?

  • @Quinny898 thats impossible. the flesh one was of the 10th doctor and cant regenerate. nor would it be able to get out of the parallel universe

  • I have a theory about Regeneration (since people are mentioning it):

When the Master was reborn for the Time War, he was given a new Regeneration Cycle. My theory that every Time Lord/Lady was also given a new Cycle, because they obviously wanted to win the War. So therefore, the Doctor can surpass the 13 limit.

    ...

    That's my theory, anyway...

  • There are two Doctors. It's obvious, if you look at the new pictures out and read the teasers. One Doctor whom is much older and working for, oh now that would be a spoiler.Oh and the other Doctor in the cowboy hat who is trying to get to bottom of why he is about to die. Go check out the new pics floating around and read about what has happened with Earth and it's history. I believe it's on the BBC web site.

  • My friend told me it might mean something about how only the ppl with the eye patches can look away and still remember the silence

  • Didnt river say in the impossible astronaut that the doctor was already regenerating before the astronaut (river) shot him... so how can he be just dead if he was already regenerating...its like mels to river she got shot alot and was fine... Same with 9th to 10th

  • @tara2510gaz River was fine after getting shot because she was still affected by the Regeneration, which stopped the bullets from killing her. The Tenth Doctor did something similar when he grew his hand after it was chopped off. The Ninth... I don't recall him getting shot.

It was explained that you can kill a Time Lord outright if they are harmed while they are Regenerating. This is why the Doctor died when he was shot again and didn't continue Regenerating.

  • @tara2510gaz He was killed during the regeneration, which interrupted it and killed him dead. With River she fully regenerated and was still in the first 24 hours of her regeneration cycle (Christmas Invasion, 10th Doctors hand), which is why she didn't die when she was shot (and used the extra energy to knock the Nazi's back).

Time lords aren't fully immortal, for instance a full Dalek blast will kill a timelord (not to be confused with the skim shot the 10th Doctor recieved in Stolen Earth)

  • steven moffats plot right now is making me so crazY lol

  • Well the Doctor can't really die because recently they've been filming the Christmas special... With Matt Smith in it :)

  • How to beat twelve regens: Doctor's next companion gets knocked up, then he keeps them as a farm in the Tardis to get constant regens.

  • The doctor's obviously not going to die since the show is called Doctor Who... what are they gonna do start following the life of an actual doctor or something?

  • My theory: they kill the Doctor and series 7 is about breaking the Gallifryean Timelock to learn how the Timelords brought back The Master so that River, Amy and Rory can bring back the Doctor. (j/k)

  • how is he gona get round the 12 regeneration Limit. Tenant regenerated twice

  • @doctorwhofan5567 tennant used his hand that got cut off when he was regenerating before, and remember he still had the same face so it doesn't count.

I think the one after matt will be the last doctor and if not him the one after that guy lol.

  • I dont want the doctor to die but i wanna see how hes getting around that 12 regenerations thing.

  • I really hope the Doctor doesn't die. I've gotten really attached to Matt Smith as the Doctor, which is a miracle as I was (and still am) a huge fan of David Tennant.

  • I have heard matt has signed up for a couple of more years and arthur and karen have confirmed that they're coming back in series 7 but not full time companions. Srsly if the doctor tho does die thi this series and it ends for good i am going on a riot.

  • They won't kill the Doctor. They CAN'T. I know the Doctor Who team are super secret about plot lines, but Matt's doing such a good job, and he's not David Tennant. He'll be here for many more years!!! Steven Moffat's a sly guy, I'm positive he's going to have some 'slap-you-in-the-face-I-can't-believe-I-missed-that' climax to the episode.

They bring back Amy and Rory and I'm happy... ;-)

  • I see a lot of theories floating around about how the Doctor is going to get out of this...most of them seem to have forgotten the highly convenient clones that sprang up shortly after we learned that the Doctor had to die...I'm not going to be at all surprised if the Doctor is all AH HA, MADAME KOVARIAN, YOU FOOLED ME WITH GANGERS AND I FOOLED YOU. Win.

  • Can't wait

  • Moffat may have ruined the next episode as the next episode of Doctor Who Confidential is called "When Time Froze" Hmmm? Any Thoughts?

  • @habbohotelmania I read in the radio times that time is stuck at 5:02 (or what ever time the doctor will die), and that's all of time happening at the same time, that's why Churchill, pyramids, daleks etc are in the trailer

  • Theory: Since River of the future already knows she killed the Doctor and the River of the past knows the Doctor and doesnt hate him she plans something brilliant to fake his death and so the doctor is actually alive and then kills the silence. Kinda like how the master was brought back to life even after he was burnt...ish. I don't know but Moffat better write himself out of this. A lot of people are gonna be devastated about the loss of one of the awesomest shows ever.

  • I really hope Moffat will show the scenes of what River talks to 10th Doctor about before she dies...because for me , that would be a closure to the story of River.

  • If they're working with the silence, why are they in glass containers to keep them in and how come in the trailer, it has a silence breaking through the door of that area!

  • its getting slightly irritating that in the build up to the end of each series, the doctor predicts that he is going to die...but every time the writers make up some ridiculous explanation so that the doctor finds a way around death.

  • @alicec123 The last time the Doctor predicted his death, it happened: The Ood said the Tenth's "song was ending" and he died and regenerated not long after.

That's the only other time it's happened, so I don't get where your complaint that they "build it up at the end of each series" is coming from.

  • @RoyalGuard503 good point, I know I may have exaggerated about it. But it still irritates me that the story is repeated, as was Bad Wolf in past series.(end of the universe).

  • I think my dad's birthday is on 1st of october... but tbh I'm more excited about this episode... does that make me a bad daughter?

  • @pinkykhan464 nah just be exicted either way

  • @pinkykhan464 nah! Not at all :)

  • @pinkykhan464 not as bad as Melody Pond

  • The eye patches are obviously to do with the Silence. It seems that having that eye patch prevents you from forgetting the Silence (and that is probably why Madame Kovarian always had one, because she was working with them).

  • That is a brilliant idea, if it is not that then I think they should change it so it is :)

  • @mrevilevil2 There is probably a picture of them behind the eye patch.

  • @mrevilevil2 no, its because they're pirates

  • @mrevilevil2 obviousy the eyepatch has a picture of the silence inside so you see one all the time and never forget about them while your wearing it

  • My problem with this episode is that we already know that the Doctor isn't going to die. Why? Because Matt Smith has signed on for more Dr Who episodes in the future! So it's not so much a case of will he die, so much as how will they get him out of this mess.

... Unless they really are killing the Doctor off and the signing was a fake red herring!

  • @PyroTails dont forget he dies 200 years older than he was in "the girl who waited" than in the last episode so he can always have more episodes but fiilling inbetween the 200 years but he has to be the last doctor as the doctor died looking like that and tbh they really messed up when he went back 200 years later because none of his other lives have lasted that long and he could remember craig.

  • @IAmLedsterOo I think that the creators of the show have gotten themselves stuck. They can't kill the Doctor, because then the series ends. But the Doctor has to die in this episode, because that's the 'permanent timeline'. That's what makes this episode so interesting! How on earth are they gonna fix this mess. Although, the Doctor has already rebooted the universe, so who knows what madness he will pull to make it work.

  • @PyroTails we are talking Moffatt here. i'm sure he'll be able to write the Doctor out of this. not sure any of us will understand it though...

  • @PyroTails I know that is what kills the excitement :( but not the excitement for the doctor and YET ANOTHER SEASON WITH MATT SMITH :)!!!!!!

  • @PyroTails Oh come on, like the Doctor will ever really die :)

  • @DrunkRussian2 Exactly my point! Of course the Doctor won't die, but they've made it very very clear that he's supposed to die, so how are they going to get around it storywise. That's why this episode is so interesting.

  • @PyroTails Knowing Moffat and his ways, I have not ruled out the signing on being a red herring. In fact, I think it to be very probable.

  • @PyroTails I hope you're right! I don't want the doctor to die :(.

  • @PyroTails

You never know. It IS Moffat...

  • @PyroTails or perhaps the next season is filler of the 200 years that are needed to make him the correct age!

  • @PyroTails but there still is another 200 years between the current Dr and the one who dies

  • @HeroOf7ime Actually, Gareth Roberts, the writer of the recent episode, Closing TIme, stated in an interview that the episode takes place 200 years after The God Complex from the Doctor's perspective. Craig was his last stop before facing his "destiny".

  • @PyroTails well he might die but come back to life somehow obviously

  • @PyroTails Unless....hmm. During the episodes we've been following the doctors timeline, but because he's a timelord it would be possible to carry on making episodes of when he was alive? I dunno, it makes sense in my head! XD

  • @PyroTails Plus, Doctor Who is iconic not only of Britain, but the BBC! They'd be losing so much popularity and viewings if they killed the Doctor, no more DW episodes.

  • @PyroTails Doubt it. The death would have more impact if we knew he was leaving. It's why Doomsday was amazing, we knew Billie Piper was leaving, we weren't thinking 'how is she gonna get out of this one!'. We were thinking 'Oh shit'. This time, it's 'how is he gonna get out of this one!'. Not saying it's all bad (you really feel the Doctors sadness), just thinking they wouldn't sacrifice emotion just for 'Surprise!'.

  • @PyroTails there's one more possibility. Season 7 is going to be about that 200 years between 6x11 and 6x12. In saturday Doctor will avoid death by regenerating.

  • @PyroTails The Doctor in the impossible astronaut (the one that continued the series) was 909, whereas the one that died was 1103. Just because we've seen him die doesn't necessarily mean that he can't continue with another series, seeing as there's 194 years in between. Who says the series has to follow the Doctor's chronology?

  • @sp8darocka Read the previews for the upcoming episode.

Time has been stuck in place for 200 years. Thus now making the Doctor 1100 years old.

  • @RoyalGuard503 Didn't read the previews. My bad.

  • @PyroTails You idiot. That's not a problem, that's the whole point of the episode. We KNOW the Doctor will get out of it, we just need to know how. Even if we avoided knowing Matt Smith signed on for 14 more episodes, we still would have highly doubted the writers seriously killing the greatest character on TV.

  • yay! HD

  • FREAKING CREEPY ASS SONGGG!!

  • @SpellboundSama River Song? Teehee :D

  • Tick tock goes the clock And what then shall we see? Tick tock until the day That thou shalt marry me. Tick tock goes the clock And all the years they fly. Tick tock and all too soon You and I must die. Tick tock goes the clock We laughed at fate and mourned her. Tick tock goes the clock Even for the Doctor. Tick tock goes the clock He cradled her and rocked her. Tick tock goes the clock Till River kills the Doctor.
  • @littlechrist I'm English, and I always get confused with American dates, lol ;D

  • Lake Silencio! Just realised why it has that name!
