@PCMaster1ful Sigh, I've said this so many times I'm about to give up : The camera was a piece of crap and the bell overwhelmed its microphone - the result is a sound much quieter than it really was. I'm not sure how else to explain this....
@brettman273 My suggestion is to simply add it in the description before it cuts off, that the microphone is being overwhelmed, cause all your going to get is people complaining or ... what you can do is add text with Youtube's video editor saying it's doing that so it makes it very obvious to viewers.
Btw great videos! They are all very interesting to watch. :)
@ajm114 I'm finding I care less and less about this - either you bother to read the comments and see me explain it 5 times or you don't. I posted this five years ago and have lived in three states and four different places since - I barely remember it lol. Thanks for the advice though....
@brettman273 My camera is a piece of trash as well even though it can do 1080bp it records like so quiet and it sometimes crackles and i've had to get it's microphone repaired like 2 times and I'm thinking that there will be a third. :(
I used a 12-volt power supply from an automatic lawy sprinkler system; even though some of the notification appliances are designed for 24 volts, they almost always work on 12 volts. any 12-volt (DC) power supply that provides 1 amp or more will work.
is it possible to walk into simplex and buy a 2903 120vac fire alarm. if it is is it possible to wire a dimer light switch to lower the voice on the 2903. can you please reserch these things and let me know
I love how you've got a 10" gong bell set up in your room. A gong bell that's meant to cover a 400 foot radius in a 10 foot by 12 foot room. You must have horrible hearing. It's awesome though!
Yeah you would think so...but I blew out my hearing years ago ha ha. No...actually the trick is to run it at 12 volts instead of 24...the bell pulls a little more current but the result is a MUCH gentler ring and a strobe that pops about half as much...
You can use my camera. It works fine!!!!:)

@semplejc Thanks, but that camera has long since found its way to a landfill :) I use my phone now.

@benson41011 The bell is very loud; the camera I used at the time (4 years ago) was cheap and it overwhelmed the microphone.

you said the bell was very loud, but it isn't loud!?

Where did you get the bell, and does that bell have a bolt-like connector pin (pin that connects motor the gong), or does it have a screw-like pin?
