lol.. that took me a while to figure out. the 'sand box from scratch tool' is in draw, not tools.

there's no O.K. button in preferences. do you have to do it differently on a mac?

I tried turning on sandbox mode and no other tools came up. Do I need sketchup pro to do this?

@gregorydharris u checked the sandbox box and hit ok? I don't know what would be wrong then

@Nascar1555 Yea I went to window>preferences>extensions and checked all of them and hit OK and I still only have the default bar up. That's weird I'll have to figure out why.

Hey very good vid thank you! Just one question, do you know how to set a building on the terrain I created?

@TheFrenchscot Yup Just make the building into a component, then move the component on to the terrain. Or make the building first then make the terrain under. Hope that helped :)

@jack24wap umm try this, highlight the spot you want raised, then use the tool i used. I don't know if that would work because i don't use google sketchup anymore. Hope that helped!

i work with shade sails and i'm having huge troubles drawing a 3d mesh.. is the sandobx tool the best way to give me a hyperbolic mesh.?

or is there another way i can draw a shade sail.?

You can draw a 2d one, but I do not know how to do a four sided shade sail. sorry.
