  • Wspaniałe wykonanie

  • Poland speak. 3 ludzie ni ma uszu!

  • Poland . :D

  • Unparalleled in its brilliance and beauty.

Where are the youngsters with this level of skill and craft?

Can they create the emotion required to perform pieces such as this?

  • @xxxchrist1 Yes they can.

  • @Johnfrooshlover Well, thank the lord for that. Where are they?

  • @xxxchrist1 ME! haha just kidding. I'm learning classical guitar though. I can play this but not perfectly yet. Anyway look up Milos Karadaglic. He's very good.

  • @xxxchrist1 i can't.... not yet at least :) and then, like the other guy just said, milos karadaglic.

  • Online editors and narrators - the scourge of art.

  • i want to smash this narrators head in :/ the amount of vids of julians he cant wait to spoil is getting to me now :/ i wanna hear julian, not his voice :/ on one of them hes talking in the middle of it half way through quoting a poem :/

  • @minimal1975 That's actually Julian Bream's voice...

  • Well done, Mr Bream. You are the Maestro of the latter 20th century. Not only are you a superb guitarist but, from the many interviews I have seen you give, you're also a bloody nice bloke. Enjoy your retirement! I raise a glass to your health and go back to my tremolo practice.

  • Fantastic...shame the editor cut the final chord.

  • @miserlou57 I think it's some law of the universe; no matter how much something is loved there's always someone who will dislike it. Has to be true cause I totally agree with you.

  • Hundreds of people have played this, but ONLY this one has the right feeling. I always wondered, how? How come do others fail? They have good technique, speed,...How? I had a cd of Julian Bream, called "DEDICATION" i think that word is the answer to my question.

  • magnifico!

  • Mr. Bream,

I just wanted you to know that you are my true guitar hero. I have been playing for 49 years, in several genres of pop and blues. You are the quitessential guitar Maestro who will live on in your music as the epitome of musical excellence. Thank you that you chose the guitar and lute, instead of the piano, to devote your musical talents! My life is enrichened with your music. Thank you so much Mr. Bream! You are an inspiration to me in the highlest order.

  • HOW THE EFF CAN SOMEONE DISLIKE THIS?

  • Comment removed

  • @Miserlou57 People that don't like classical music one should imagine.

  • edited out the last chord?

  • Absolutely the best interpretation, He has something of magic :)

  • It is so hard to play this, I can't emphasize that enough. I can bring this piece up to speed to like 120 bpm, but you need to jump up to like 144 to sound like this. It sounds like he's playing 13 mandolins at once.

  • @Dreamside91

    2 months later i can play about 133 :)

  • A Grand Master playing a true classic - beautiful!

  • Stellar. The most pleasing performance of this piece of music that I've heard thus far by anyone.

  • Andres Segovia did more for classical guitar than anyone, Julian Bream always the greatest emotion and feel in his playing.

  • 2 people have lost the memories of the alhambra

  • This tune is often treated as a study..... Mr Bream treats it as Music

  • too straight ahead

  • Julian the living towering GIANT of the CLASSICAL Guitar along with JOHN Williams, NARCISO Yepes, R.I.P. They all had influence modern young guitar Virtuosos of today... of course: ANDRES SEGOVIA started the FIRE!....

I have listened to JULIAN BREAM recordings starting in the MID-1970's, A TRUE MASTER of EXPRESSING MUSIC.

  • this is the most fuild version I've ever heard

  • where's the last chord ?

  • Música linda, e com Julian Bream tocando fica melhor ainda!

  • This is incredible. What a genius ! ! And Tarrega of course .

  • this is so fluid indeed..effortless and totally non-technical, yet perfectly clear..

its the best interpretation found on youtube..

  • holy shit that is like water

  • simply amazing... have not heard it played with such integration of clarity and emotion. you guys need to stop fussing about not seeing his hands all the time... this lesson is in your ear.

  • @knellonetellone2 YES! that's it exactly.

  • props to Bream for actually being at the alhambra lol

  • This is the piece that I heard when I was a young hs kid and fell in love with the Spanish guitar....As much as I now even build guitars. It is enough to hear a few measures and I get shivers down my spine and a tear in the corner of an eye. This music is pure magic same as the actual Alhambra is pure magic.

  • This one is the best interpretation I found here on you tube

  • @NapkinQueen I actually heard that Julian Bream didn't like the final chord and often omitted it.

  • this piece of music is sooooo BEAUTIFUL : ]

  • A true Master!

  • Bream has not got the best tremelo around but this does not stop him giving one of the all time finest renditions of this piece ever . Time and time again I keep coming back to this one. The melody floats and soars and you forget there is a technical feat going on( we all know how elusive tremelo is) It is simply magical beyond words and makes me think of how he himself was inspired to play when he heard Segovia playing this very piece. I would die to play it like this. Long live Bream .

  • @NapkinQueen well said! Christopher Nupen must be a shmuck for doing that.

  • Yes - a bad video - show his playing, not the scenery. And don't cut off the last notes of the piece. Awful.

  • this is just perfect

  • Mramosribero- Thank you for your kind agreement- maybe if we start a storm of protest, a piece of footage from this exact moment will magically appear- it could happen if everyone demands it!

  • Perfection.

  • Por favor Recuerdos del Alhambra ( or al-hamra if you want the Arabic).

Go to Granada and visit it.

I have been smitten by the Spanish languiage and Spanish music since I was

a bit shorter than I am now.

  • it would be nice if the camera people would just show Mr Bream just playing, and stop panning all over the damn castle. WE WANT TO SEE HIS HANDS! IT'S A LESSON GUY!

  • @raiphdude7 hey you, you've just said what everyone of us would like TO YELL ALOUD: KILL THIS CAMERA MAN!!! We want to see Bream playing not to look at those bloody walls!! This is music not photography!! Damnit man!

  • @mramosribeiro dudes, those bloody walls inspired this music and the music is supposed to evoke them and the story of the place. Bream's finger gymnastic and his blue suit are irrelevant. Would you not love this piece if it was very easy to play and uninteresting in the visual-technical dept?!

  • Reassuring to hear that even Bream finds difficulty evidencing the hammer ons with his little finger with sufficient forte. It is most difficult but you expect it from a master.

  • @NapkinQueen Haha! So typical. Every time I perform this one people start clapping before I play the final chord.

  • My very favorite piece of music-from my very favorite musician! I don't know where you are, babylac-but thank you for lighting up a dreary Melbourne winter sky!

  • Julian Bream, another master. Tomophirwedge put it very well. Bream connects very deeply with the music he's playing and it shows.

  • Christopher Parkening: Recuerdos de la Alhambra (Tárrega)

    watch?v=ssxMNp2dT2Y

    thanks and regards to all

  • heard this song and found the music of julian bream for the first time about six months ago on you tube,i cant play any instrument this song and the way he plays it is one of the most amazing things i have heard or seen .

  • There is a "techno" version of this song. I forget the artist's name (and the song's name.. it's not recuerdos).

I saw the video of this techno (more like new age, I guess) on Youtube. The video had a young asian boy in it.

  • Urgh, He makes it look so easy, makes me sick :(

  • God, this is such an incredibly beautiful song. This is best version of this I've heard. I like his Estudio Brillante, too. Tarrega is a wonderful composer. Thanks for sharing this. I really enjoy watching master musicians perform.

  • this is the best version, for me. I don't like people that play this music too fast because it loses his beautiful melody.

  • Julian Bream has the best version of most classical Spanish songs. Even better than Segovia in most cases. Listen to his Asturias by Albeniz also. Incredible!!

  • the emotion he plays with is sublime!!! the master!!...what amazing technique, feel, depth, emotion and phrasing....wow!!!

  • What a performance! No one does it even close to Bream - his tremolo is awesome, he's a bit slower than the others tempo-wise but it's stunning. Moved me to tears....

  • I have admired Juilian Bream , since i began my carreer as a guitarrist, what a wonderfull mussician , such beatifull sound !! Mr. Bream i'm sending you a tremolo I wrote, ( in video )called Angelita , I hope you like it.

  • the change from minor to major at 1.41 is really beautiful!!! changes the entire colour of the piece!!

  • yea its really great, sounds very beautiful. a lot of classical pieces change from major to minor, but this one starts in minor and then changes to mayor.

  • thanks for posting this gem- my mother loved this piece and I came to love it too-

I don't think it matters where you come from, if the musician feels it in their soul, the listener will know, and they'll feel it too-

    cheers to all-

  • beautiful...............

  • How sweetly he makes love to this music ~ Exquisite!

  • wow!!

  • The best version of this. Even John Williams and Romero and Boyd struggle to get through some of the passages. The fluency and effortlessness is amazing!!!!!!!

  • Thanks for the video, Babylac76. He a great performer dispite what the andaluces might say

  • What do the Andaluces say?

  • Andaluces say he is english, and therefore he is not able to play with the colourfullness they as their priviledge.

I think this si nonsense. This piece proves it.

  • Ah, I see. Yes, I agree with you, Bream's 'colour' is more like a lake, tranquil on the surface but with great depth beneath. Can you recommend any good Spanish guitarists to listen to? Apart from Segovia? Thanks!

  • The Romeros are really good. Particularly Pepe Romero has a lot of deep feeling in his playing. They play differently than Segovia because they developed apart from him, but they are still great.

  • Bream was the master... his ability to connect deeply with the music he's playing was exceptional.... he plays this piece with great emotion and intelligence....

  • @tomophirwedge he still is the master my friend

  • @tomophirwedge i totally agree. when i want to see how its done i look to bream.

  • You havE a story within this song!~

  • exceptional 5 star

  • What great miracle - art J. Bream! Glory to the great master!
