@JKConquerer Supposedly there is an un-aired 'final episope' where we find out Klink was actually a double agent working for the allies. & his routine incompetence was feigned to give Hogan's men a free-hand. Not sure if thats just an urban legend (as it doesn't fit into all the story lines) but its a cool twist!
The Home Guard got better as the war went on, they even had academies and elite units as well. The pikes were there earlier but they weren't there for long. Incidentally about those injuries they should be compared with the ones in the regular army. they might have had similar injuries that were not battle related.
What this programme fails to tell us is that the Home Guard were mostly filled out with vetrens from previous wars. Many felt that they had been cheated to grow old while their brothers and friends had been killed in their youth. Historians had worked out that while the Home Guard was badly armed, they would have fought to the death to defend their towns and villiages since they did not have much more a a life to live anyway.
@DrinkToIreland Hey im doing a show and im looking for voice actors for it the script is linked in my profile =3 lemme know what ya think and pm me for details
@DrinkToIreland True in fact they wanted to get German support in order to get the Brits out of Northern Ireland and even did bombings on their behalf. Ireland while netural did not however support the IRA and went out of their way to block them.
@DrinkToIreland I got my information from a show on Nazi collaborators - they were the first episode, chances were they would have handed Ireland over to the Nazis just to get the Brits. Ireland was neutral but their military was mobilized to anyone out, they even had a Home Guard set up for such an invasion.
DAMN, good thing they didnt fight in the war or were all the brits had to offer. germany wouldve won. those folks that were injured, were like the stooges or the keystone cops.
@MARVIA35 They would've been outmatched, yeah, but most of the Home Guard were veterans of the Great War. imagine if London had become another Stalingrad: Even armed with pikes, they wouldn't have been pushovers, and when supporting the regular army, they could've done some serious damage.
Is it me... or does Churchill more-closely resemble Truman? (No foolin! Picture him with Coke-bottle glasses!)

@dukes0916
Nah. Truman had a wider head. Almost spherical.

I love how people like in Hogan's Heroes puts on the same accent as everyone else pretending to be Churchill.
Speaking of Hogan's Heroes, if all Germans were like Klink, the war would be over in 2 days!
