Tinsley towers went down on my birthday i was 9 on the day but i was in florida at the time so i missed seeing them go down . i am 11 now and i on my birthday i always remember about them.

They had to go, built in the 50's they were structurally unsafe. Besides I have a fear or phobia of cooling towers.

shame to see them go. I have lived in Sheffield all my life and loved the towers. Now whenever I go to Meadowhall I look at the space where they used to be and feel my heart sink.

These shoudlnt have been destroyed. As a teenager of sheffield i disagree with it, they were a real landmark!

They said they were being destroyed because they were "unstable" but even after an explosion part of one tower was still standing.
