i just wanna let you know, that this is one of the best curves tutorial i've even seen. i always have new photographers asking me how i get my photos to pop. EVERYTIME i send them your video and say watch this, he explains the knitty gritty of a digital image and it's relationship to it's curve. though i do with that you'd edited this with the histogram on the grid. cuase that's even more basic and quintessential to digital photography.

Thank you. Have only just started playing with Curves. This was extremely helpful and very well presented. I did find the solarisation effect produced some interesting images though probably not to most tastes. The only criticism I would post is that it was difficult to see the effects on the image because of the size of the Curves dialogue box. You might try closing the dialogue every time you make a major change.

Because Levels adjusts the amount of selected individual colors, while curves adjust the contrast of the entire image.

u people obviously dont know what a tutorial is, neither do you know what a GREAT tutorial is when you see one. i think this is excellent. i like how his videos are sometimes 30mins long (and sometimes even longer). the reason they are so long is that instead of playing crappy music and using notepad or moviemaker to tell you whats goin on, he explains using his own voice in great depth about what he is doing. i have learned alot from these tutorials and i know there are greater ones yet to come

Curves isn't just great for photographers. I'm an experienced digital artist and I use Curves all the time for colour adjustments.
