  • they really do need to establish an upper limit on these headwinds

  • great climb this, does the heart and lungs well, when at full fitness i love switching to a harder gear and flying up it like a headcase, it does catch your legs out at times i can still remember the pain of lactic

  • wow, that looks like a really small road for the crow road! looks nothing like it tbh. but GREAT camera considering it was strapped to your helmet., Well done. that looks painful! -x

  • Gesus that guy who passed you is a dick!

  • Nice going mate. Nice to get away from the traffic now and then eh? if thats possible? Too many cars these days :(I like your vids btw.

  • Aye, I really am enjoying my weekend cycling. The Campsies have become my playground! :-)

  • Less than a week to go now - and I'll be joining you in the pain too.

  • Yes I'm looking forward to it. Managed an outing at the weekend taking in both Tak Ma Doon and Crow road. I'm beginning to not hate the hills!

Look out for me wearing a white CycleChat jersey (assuming I'm not covering it with a rain jacket!)

  • I dont know why but I really like your vids lol.

  • did the angle of the camera make the hill look less steep than it actually was?

  • Aye, it's always difficult to show the slope of a hill on camera, up or down. However, the first section of the hill is the steepest, and this part isn't quite as bad, but my legs are still reeling from the first part!

  • i know how u feel, i cycle around the surrey countryside up many steep hills myself, but have eventually got used to it and stronger :)

  • Bloody clio drivers.

  • Thinking about it, that close passing car must have been just as close to the motorcyclist going the other way - with a fairly hefty head-on speed.

The impatience and/or stupidity of some people is just astonishing.

  • Aye, it's not as if I would be holding them up long!

  • Cyclist at 1.58 looked like they were keeping up with the motorbikes.

  • He was! Must have been about 40mph I reckon!

  • and get rid of the backpack. saddle bag and the pockets in your jersey are all you need on a race bike.

Tools in the saddle bag, food in the pockets.

I am sure with time you'll get more like a proper roady! ;-)

  • LOL! I only had the backpack to hold the camera/recorder/cables. I wouldn't normally have it on when out training. I could do without the extra weight!

  • those hills are tough eh lol

the state of them roads is a disgrace

them bloomin motorists tanking it on them wee roads grrrrr

  • Aye the roads aren't the best. It's a shame as it could be a really good route bringing in cyclists from further afield.

  • That made me laugh. Deserted mountain road, no one to be seen for miles but within seconds of magnatom throwing a leg over his bike someone comes along and buzzes him.

magnatom, could you put a link in the information panel on sponsorship details?

  • Aye, typical! :-) I was too tired to remonstrate.

I'll sort out a link now...
