@djmarkyno1 im a multi-instrumentalist though im not an ego-tistical dick who thinks hes better than everyone else and i can say that whilst he may not be technically the greatest he is a VERY good contemporary drummer. his drumming is the driving force behind AM. if you really knew anything about music you would know that it isnt all about being technically perfect and that it is about the feeling and emotion you have for it. music is art not science, enjoy never having any success in life.....

It's not about how fast one can play it's about how good it sounds and how much they can contribute to the beat of a song. Matt Helders isn't the fastest and he doesn't have the biggest drum set but a big part of Arctic Monkeys success is that there music has a great beat that you can dance to and go crazy to it, Matt Helders sounds good, thusfar your argument is invalid and you come across as a silly pessimistic smart arse, -smart.

Matt Helders is a very very poor drummer in terms of feel, originality, and overall technicality. He is fine for Arctic Monkeys, which is nothing more than derivative pop crap. Drummers like Thomas Hedlund (Phoenix), Aaron Harris (Isis), or Joey Castillo (QOTSA) are some true modern drumming legends, not Helders, not even close.
