I love Jennifer so much, and her portayal of Natalie is just perfect. It would be easy to play her as depressed, but the way she plays it I really do get the feeling she's been dealing with this crap for years. Not to mention she had an amazing amout of talent at such a young age and is absolutely stunning.

I HAVE THAT SHIRT!!!! And I adore Jennifer, she's amazing! She sounds like she has a lisp here though lol xD and as for this wannabe Alice Ripley, um, she FAILS! She's young, ugly, and I don't like her. She will never be Alice, and that's a fact. This Kyle guy is pretty good :) But I perfer Aaron because he looks younger and puts more emotion into the role.

God, Jennifer Damiano is incredible...her vibrato is flawless!

I definitely prefer Alice Ripley to Jessica Phillips (Jessica does seem too young, and Alice gets the character more) but Jessica's voice is really beautiful too!

I just saw Jessica Phillips perform as Diana on Broadway, and she was FANTASTIC. I feel like she handles the country and the belting much better, but Alice Ripley has a much more unique, raspy quality to her voice that works beautifully on the ballads. They're both so awesome, in very different ways.

But one thing that some people are saying is just wrong. Kyle Dean Massey does not even touch Aaron Tveit's voice. Hotness aside, Aaron is much better. And he's still hot.

@sugarhoneyicedtea123 It's the character. Natalie is a really nervous character, so Jenn incorporated a lot of nervous movements. She doesn't look like that when she sings songs that aren't from Next to Normal.

I love different things about them both (I've seen Jessica twice now and Alice the rest of the times I've seen the show) and the fact they are so different, physically, vocally and with their acting choices is exactly what makes live theatre so interesting. :)

Jessica is totally right for the role. So is Alice, by the way.  They both play remarkable Diana's and I doubt most of you have seen them both ON STAGE, not in an outdoor arena. And I agree with you, InvisibleBoxes... she gets so into the role with even glancing at her hands - so wonderful.
