This was HORRIBLE!!!! start to finish, incorrect and disrespectful. As a former Air Force Honor Guard member, this turned my stomach!!!!!! Letting the flag flop around, almost dropping it, not folding it correctly, there was NO WAY that the finish tuck on that fold could have concealed the red properly. Start over by learning to do it correctly before you try to show somebody else!!!
this is not right. i do not like civilians telling me how to do my job. with over 200 done perfectly in 2 years, i never had red showing. please remove this video.
@naamanb. are you a soldier. and how old are you. and this is not wrong. folding the American flag is a honor. im a U.S Army Col. and your will respect this video!
No, I will not. and it is one of my biggest honors. I am 23 years old and an ABH2 (Petty Officer 2nd Class). I have done 2 years on active duty and 2 years in the reserves as a Funeral Honor Guard conducting funerals in national cemeteries in MA/CT/RI/NH/VT. I have done funerals with ranks as high as E-7, 8's and 9's. As well as with my commanding officer, an O-5, every drill weekend, that's over 110 in just the past year. The corners could have been sharper and the tucks tighter.
@naamanb: okay. i have takin four tures in Afgan, and iraq. and i have been all over the world i cant say what i was doing. but i can say this. i saw people younger than you die. i have three purple hearts. i had to barrie my frinds and my brother. if you cant respect this video you cant respect your flag or your country. these people are good people. they wanted to maked a video of how to fold a flag. so what if there are alittle errors here and there. they are people of the U.S so be happy.
dude, congrats on your tours. thanks for serving. I cant say i don't feel for the families of men lost with you, but they knew what they were doing when they signed up. your service, your tours, and your ribbons have nothing to do with this.
this is wrong. "a little errors here and there"?! you definitely should know, that "a little error" is a big deal. if this was what was presented to your family at your brothers funeral, would you go and out it in is case? didn't think so.
@naamanb: None of use are perfect. thats what makes us human. one day you will mess up and you wont even know. i have messed up so many times i cant count them. but i foreget about it. it doesnt bother me. cause i let it go.
@naamanb: but. going up to some ones door and telling them. there son or daugher is dead. is one of the hardist things i hve ever done. im a member of EOD i held bombs in my hands and disarmed them. but the angels of death have it worse.
I know you meant well, but that was not the right way to fold an internment flag. The stars should have been in your left hand so when you went to do the table top, the stars would have been on your left. When you start folding the flag in half you should leave a 1 1/2 to 2' space to the top part of the flag so all the red will be inside when you fold. Also your wife first fold was in the wrong direction. Sorry sir, but this video is a really bad example of how to fold an internment flag.
That example is an embarassment to the way it SHOULD be. I urge the audience to select another example other then this one. Sorry...no disrespect intended to the good intentions of those who posted this.
@usafairman2008 lol i never had a problem with folding it, was actually quite good at doing it. definately have to pull it super super tight with every fold and take your time with it, fold in the edges a little if it becomes uneven when you're folding it. it also helps to have a 3rd person hold the middle while you're folding to keep it level and prevent it from falling if a mishap happens
Please, Please, Please remove this video. It displays the incorrect way of folding the flag especially to funeral home directors. There is only one way to fold an internment flag and this is not it.
okay video the flag is called a post flag flown everyday unless special occasions or bad weather if their was bad weather you would put the storm flag up if it was a special occasion it would be a garrison flag. the flag folding was good but sloppy , still a very instructional video... brownie points for that.
that was horrible dont listen to that

Full of mistakes. I get that civilians may not know all the correct steps, but if you're making a how to video, military or not, do it correctly.

Since they are civilians, they can fold the flag however way they want. I don't think there's a law against that.
However, if any of them were military, the way they fold needs to be changed because it is not correct.

Each state has an Honor Guard that trains to a DoD standard. Please reference the Honor Guard standard when folding the American Flag.
