The New Zealand Justice system has gone thru its motions - there is reasonable doubt - no one but David knows what really happened - therefore David is not guilty thanks to reasonable doubt - he has to live with the fact that his family is dead, he has lost 13 years of his life and that half of NZ think he still did it - I think that is punishment enough for David - do I think he did it - the circumstantial evidence would say that it is likely. Two books = Mask of Sanity and David vs Goliath.

And as for the statement that all evidence points to David Bain being the murderer, that is utterly false. The evidence put forward at his first trial did point the finger at David Bain, because a large amount of other evidence was either withheld or hadn't even been collected in the first place. The Privy Council obviously thought that the first investigation and trial was botched, and yet there are some here that feel they're qualified to disagree.

Nobody knows what Robin Bain's frame of mind might have been. If he was the murderer, he was obviously extremely disturbed and psychotic. Does anybody here know what they'd do in that frame of mind? No. And by picking at details like the gloves and the change of clothes, you're assuming that you'd know what you'd do in that situation. It's silly to assume that the actions of this person would have been logical.

this is nz's OJ Simson case, overwhelming prejudice against the police resulting in an obviously guilty man getting away with murder. The police had no motivation to pursue this case unless they believed he was guilty.

It would save them a lot of effort to declare the father did it.
