The music overpowers the vocals. I wish they had a better recording of this song. That being said, I think their own interpretation of this song is just that...theirs. When covering a song I think it's best to put yourself and your ways into it, otherwise it's just a black and white faded print of the original.
The point of a cover song isn't always to do it the way it really is, with your voice. If a rock band covers some rap song, they're not going to try and rap. They put it into a rock form.
It's common. MCR did this their way. I, for one, think it really expresses it better than say AFI's version. You can get the more creepy sense of who Jack The Ripped really was.

The music overpowers the vocals. I wish they had a better recording of this song. That being said, I think their own interpretation of this song is just that...theirs. When covering a song I think it's best to put yourself and your ways into it, otherwise it's just a black and white faded print of the original.

this is all down to personal opinion andi can honestly hold my hands up and say i love this.
although its performed live and the recording sounds fuzzy, i think they made the song their own.
although i like the original, i cant help but think this cover and the rawness about it sets the scene behind the song a whole load better.
can you honestly imagine jack the ripper crooning to the prostitue he was about to f..k up? no he'd be screaming insanitys at her.

The point of a cover song isn't always to do it the way it really is, with your voice. If a rock band covers some rap song, they're not going to try and rap. They put it into a rock form.
It's common. MCR did this their way. I, for one, think it really expresses it better than say AFI's version. You can get the more creepy sense of who Jack The Ripped really was.

of course it's gonna soudn bad, all demos/live versions sound bad unless they use proper equipment
which they probably haven't cos this is from around when bullets was released and they were poor
don't judge it on the quality of the recording

Yeah, but some songs are recorded so they sound like this. Alot of people think Demolition Lovers was recorded badly, it was meant to sound that way.
