  • This would of pissed Nintendo off big.....

  • @lildecable They did this with Genesis too. If it did before, then it would of did again with Nintendo keep on getting sales.

  • Drop it once, your fucked!!

  • Nothing like good ol' propaganda to upstage your rivals, eh?

  • FULL COLOR? WOW ITS THE FUTURE@!@!

  • Sega led the way in hardware back then. They had 16-bit consoles in 1989 and 128-bit consoles in 1998. Sega had a color handheld before anybody else did. Yet they all failed to beat Nintendo. Why? Because of better gameplay. (not trying to bash on Sega).

And anyway, why did Sega keep bashing Nintendo when Nintendo never bashed on them? The only mention of "Sega" in an SNES-related commercial was in the Donkey Kong Country commercial, where the game was said to be "not on 32x adapters."

  • @wwtoonlinkfan "Sega had a color handheld before anybody else did." Nope, Atari came out with the Lynx well before the Game Gear was around. I think NEC's Turboexpress predates the Game Gear, too.

Nintendo didn't bash on Sega because Nintendo was in the lead; bashing Sega would only draw people's attention to them. This is the same reason why Sega bashed Nintendo and not Atari, 3DO, SNK, etc. Unless you're sure everyone's already heard of your competitors, mentioning them is a bad idea.

  • i think nintendo had the last laugh when the american sega commercial always bash nintendo

  • This has got to be the funniest commercial I've ever seen for a video game. It's so serious, and that's why it's so ridiculous!

  • I rather would have been a Game Boy playing slave than a Sega guy.

  • HEY!Game Boy was awesome!

  • Thousands of helpless teenagers trapped in a world of two-dimensional video games.... Until Nintendo 3DS!

  • If you watch the end, next ad was about a New Line Cinema movie. I'd love to know which one. XD

  • I like how in this the screen on the game gear doesn't ghost at all, yet in real life it is probably one of the worst LCD screens that ever made it into a console.

  • i love it how the only thing sega advertise for this is that theyre in colour and game boys are not

  • Who Agrees With Me If You Would Of Kept The Gameboy And Got The Free GameGear To

  • I'm a Nintendo child, but as soon as the Game Gear came out I knew SEGA had a real edge on the Nintendo brand. It took Nintendo a decade to make anything remotely similar (although the battery life and the ability to use Game Gear as both a gaming system and a defense weapon? Room for improvement, there...)

  • @Myitt Lynx had a better handheld than anyone except TurboExpress. If you think about it, Lynx beat GG with 16 bit graphics while the TurboExpress beat the Nomad by launching even before the GG.

  • th reason the video cuts so much is they're changing the batteries in the game gear

  • it still amazes me as to how gg took a shit and gameboy stayed.

  • I remember seeing this commercial when I was a kid thinking "If they don't want their Game Boys, they should give 'em to me!" >_<

I had no video games when I was a kid.

  • You now, I see this and I cann't let myself NOT compare it with Apple's 1984 commercial.

You know, the one where all IBM users are soulles retards, then a Hooter's girl representing Apple destroys a monitor with IBM's big brother's style speech.

  • Ah, the good old days.

  • sega doesn't have tetris...

  • @JFeng299

No but Sega does have Columns which is quitea similar concept to tetris.

  • Despite the attack ads on Nintendo, Sega never really won over me, nor almost anyone else.

  • @sdcazares1980 The Genesis destroyed the SNES in sales right up untill the very end of it's life cycle. The SNES only caught up when Sega had moved on to the Sega CD, 32X, and Saturn. Even despite being twice as expensive as the GameBoy the GameGear had a much larger market share than any other handheld has ever had vs the GameBoy/DS. Not even the PSP has as much success vs Nintendo as sega had with the GameGear.

  • @SauceCaptain SNES sold 49 million units worldwide vs. 35 million from the Genesis. Besides, the Sega CD and 32x were add-ons, so you can't really count them as seperate systems.

  • @SauceCaptain fuck you! you biased, lying sega fan

  • @2600theatari Arent you that stupid 11 year old british fag who likes the irate Gaymer?

  • @vickimec go fuck yourself

  • @2600theatari LOL you're such a FUCKING ass licking cunt midget piece of SHIT, EAT YOUR OWN ROTTEN CRAP until it will came BACK FROM YOU ASS so you CAN EAT IT AGAIN LOL!1 PWND X2 !!1

  • @2600tehatari why attack me when i want to innocently comment on a video? and why do you have to say every single curse word in the english dictionary

  • @2600theatari curses aren't in the dictionary, genius.

  • @2600tehatari HEYHEYHEY...Watch the language,guys.

  • @SauceCaptain I can see you getting a ton of hate mail for that because here in the uk, the snes rocketed in sales right past the mega drive, the same happened almost everywhere else except sometimes in the US and always in brazil

  • HAHAHAHA!!! THIS WAS THE GAME GEAR COMMERCIAL I WAS LOOKING FOR!!! It was hilarious. I love how they make all the gameboy players out to be a bunch of soylent green addicts.

  • @dogeymon83 I hate Sega.

  • I used to have this commercial on tape when I was a kid, we ended up taping it because we started the vcr I think 2 minutes before whatever movie we were watching started.

    Thanks for posting! :)

  • i ave a sega game gear even thought its 2009

  • gee, I wish I could go into a room with a guy sitting at a table giving out free Sega Game Gear

  • @SegaSuperShow I wish I could go into a room with a guy giving out free Game Boys.
