Actually i don't think he was killed for being gay, he was killed for being an asshole. I had done some research on this matter and found out he wore high heels and make up to school and when people said something about it he proceeded to flirt with them.
When a guy, gay or not does something like this you can be sure that it is to piss people off, so in conclusion, being gay was not the main reason for his death, it could be part of it, but he was being an asshole, that's for sure.
i have also done research, and found similar claims. But to say he was an asshole because he flirted with people who made fun of him, isn't really being an asshole. I'd call that a defense mechanism. If he just ran off and got upset, that's just reinforcing the bullies. But if he stood up for himself, granted this probably wasn't the best way, it doesn't let the bullies win, at least to him. I do agree that it just pissed people off, but I don't believe that was his intent to begin with.

Well the concealed gun is kind of a weak argument but the fact that this kid /still/ hasn't hit trial yet is ridiculous.
I seriously hope his hometown has given a complete overhaul on their worldviews. If not then a little part of me will die with my hope for humanity.
