Farming in Australia like almost everything else is at huge risk due to the fact we simply cannot compete with third world or subsidised countries. Our stupid Governments agreed to a level playing field and all that goes with it internationally but we've been the only country to honour that arrangement to the detrement of every kind of manufacturing and farming.
There's a 1,200 cow farm in Victoria, and there's a 12,000 cow farm in Tasmania. Economies of scale they call it, but in this country, where Mother Nature can be a real Bitch, it's one hell of a risk to be that exposed to the elements.
