Lasers (not phasers) capable of burning through things have been around for years, building one as small as a handgund is somewhat difficult. I made a tos phaser with a visible green laserbeam that looks cool enough but cant damage anything exept your eyes. I wrote FAKE because the beam is fake, its digitally inserted into the film. Silly of me to think that all Trekkies where smart enough to understand.
