  • The theremin actually reminds me of a version of the Star Trek theme, I think one used in the second season of The Original Series!

  • This video doesn't do the song justice.

  • Usually I troll ALL on youtubearse, but this songs rings my trolling heart

  • I didn't like it actually

  • @boemioofworld totally agree they sound like a bad copy from the 60's

  • what is it as genre ?

  • @TheMoleBat "bad copy from a 60's band" is the genre

  • wtf is going on in this video hah

  • They have a beautiful, magical sound!

  • the set for this video looks like the set for the minutemen's king of the hill video.

  • Nice!

  • best band out there..... if i had only one album to listen to all my life it be a "Camera Obscura"

  • I've never listened to a bad song from this band!!!

The number of brilliant songs is unlimited...

  • the eerie instrument/tune in the background totally sounds like the one in the "one flew over the cuckoo's nest" theme song.

  • It's called a Theremin. You play it with your hands but without actually touching it.

  • @Caroline2101982

    It's called a Theremin

  • this band haunts me since first hearing, and has provided me pleasure and solace. appreciation factor: unmeasurably off the charts high, at a ridiculously fast rate, infinitely.

  • wow! i forgot how much i loooveee camera obscura! <3 their music brings my spirits up fasho!

  • q paja los arregloss

  • Yah i'm going to see them live in a couple of weeks for the first time WoW, i first heard ' keep it clean ' by chance & i was hooked, so love this band, they are just sooooo cool. If they don't become the biggest thing on the planet there is no justice. Don't down load for free, buy their albums support them the albums have loads of info on them real fans pay for music. love & peace

  • I adore them, aswell!

What other bands do you like?

And where are you seeing them?

  • im seeing them live tomorrow, its going to be amazing! love them :)

  • im so glad the poster of this vid quoted my fav line in the info: "sure she is a heartbreaker, does she have one?"

  • I saw Camera Obscura at TITP last week and they were amazing (and Tracyanne was looking gooooood!!!)

Can't wait to see them again, I want to see them at Kilmarnock but I'm working. Hope they play more Scottish dates soon.

  • quit your job and see them! they deserve that at least

  • they were in Columbia, MO back in '07...it was beautiful...maybe they will be back!

    i <3 camera!

  • I wish they would come to Missouri sometime soon :(

  • you're so pretentious

  • is that a hun i see

  • wreck yer cheeks, glasgi

  • Camera Obscura à la Route du Rock 2009 =D

    ITS GONNA ROCK

  • mild! they have a retro sound, do they not? but very pleasant and unforced-sounding. ps- check my own mild vids, comments welcome....

  • I'm so excited I'm finally seeing them in June!!! :)

  • Saw Camera Obscura for the first time in concert (Shepherds Bush Empire) on Thursday, 23rd April, 2009. :-) Fantastic concert.

  • Wow, what a great band I discovered. I'm hooked

  • You discovered them? Wow, you are the most amazing person. :P

  • haha me too :)

  • lol,me too!!!

  • Yeah, Partick Thistle, they're the other Glasgow team...was just upset to see the Rangers Jersey! That equates a lot of bad things in my mind...

  • Why would it bother you? I'm a season ticket holder at Ibrox and I hate Celtic with a passion yet many of my favourite bands have Celtic fans in them (Teenage Fanclub, Belle & Sebastian, Primal Scream, The Smiths probably loads more I don't know about) and it doesn't bother me one iota.

  • shes so pretty, she look so different now with all that makeup

  • That's a Buchanan plaid blanket? Is she a Buchanan?

  • its supposed this is a normal video..But they are stoned...they are on LSD..

  • Ah ca me rappelle les bon vieux temps...

  • Forgive my ignorance, but when did Camera Obscura get their start?

  • '96

  • me loves it <3

  • Such a pretty melody and great calypso beat. the singer has a fresh, pure, and pleasant sound. Such an offbeat kind of video with just ordinary people. They have a great pop sound and a simpleness, and that is what makes it great. Love the chorus too.

  • toto te busco pero no te encuentroo

  • gotta appreciate the theremin

  • Is that a theremin in the song? I guess it must be one, I don't know another instrument makes such an ethereal sound.

  • LOVe

but wats up wiz thhe video?

  • kinda funny music video

  • reminds me of aurvoir simone

  • ueeeep

  • this makes me think about being a teenager.

  • I've just discovered this band and so far I haven't been disappointed by a single song yet....Why did they have to go a spoil things by one of them wearing a Rangers top in this video :o(

    Still, no one's perfect!

  • Perhaps that's what jinxed them - along with a couple of slightly dubious refereeing decisions, of course...

  • Ah, I saw that too, and thought the same thing. I always hoped that this band leaned more towards the green side of Glasgow! What team was the yellow top?

  • Comment removed

  • It's Partick Thistle, they're famous for being pretty shit and having a lot of studenty types support them.

Delighted to see the Rangers top in the video, the band have just shot up in my estimation!

  • What is the conection with this band and Belle & Sebastian?

  • Haha. So everbody says.

Is it true that both lead singers are dating each other?

  • as long as i know, stuart ( bs lead voice) is already married. But i really dont care.

    She's lovely.

  • It's better.

  • The Drummer played in this band for a while, and Stuart Murdoch was involved in producing some of their earlier albums. They come from the same city.

  • ah no me canso de decirlo q buena rola.

  • camera obscura: the loveliest band ever.

  • i like...awesome song

  • This song is as close to perfection as any song I've ever heard.

  • @rebl1128 mmm it sound just as any other song back from the sixties.... i don't see what's teh fuzz about

  • @lilopachon1 well ya tard! The whole point is its not the 60's no more is it? Nice to have something that sounds like history in the present!

  • @fuzzygremlin88 really?? oh gee thanks! i didn't notice that was the point! i'm a complete retard!!! thankyou you genius for clearing that up!! how original to recycle what's already gone to copy it exactly how it used to be... very creative!if i want to listen to sixties music, there are plenty of groups FROM the sixties (not bad copies) to pick up from... why not trying to do something representing YOUR time, what is happening in your life and environment< not from your dad's time for godssake

  • @fuzzygremlin88 want some history?? listen to real music from that time and read some about what was going on at that time.. there, that's history.. not a bad copy YOU TARD!!!!!!!!!

  • @rebl1128 Do you really think that?

  • @JohnnyContagious Actually, I think it's a really beautiful song, but I may have overstated it. I must have been having an emotional day. It always makes me sort of sad to listen to.

  • @rebl1128 I get it. There is something very melancholy about Traceyanne Campbell's voice, her entire demeanour is the same. Growing up in the same city as she did she reminds me of those gloomy indie chicks I used to see around town in the mid-80s, which explains her fondness for Lloyd Cole.

  • She seems to smile rarely.

  • what should she smile about?

  • exactly. nothing to smile about.

    great band, though...

..and that sad face is quite appealing, actually..

  • good stuff :-)

  • Saw them last night here in NYC, they played a free gig at South Street Seaport. Great live band. She has the voice of an angel.

  • que buena banda en el poliforum estuvieron chingones, me laten y me volvi fan.

  • adoro este grupo sus canciones son placenteras

  • wonderful, just wonderful.

  • nice song but, what's up with the video? lol

  • amazing..

  • I'm happy again, this band just made my day!!

  • Mmmmmmm. Harriet Wheeler.

  • A great song, her voice reminds me of Harriet Wheeler....Both Sirens.

  • I'll knock your head off, I'll knock your head off!

The nuts in May is class as are this band.

  • love love love from eagle rock, los angeles, ca. i was born in 1975 and i have never been more in love. moving to brooklyn with my love this may, one day hope to reach glasgow, where true love reigns,,3/30/07 glendale, ca

  • Love the video - a wonderful take on Mike Leigh's masterpiece 'Nuts in May', starring Alison Steadman. If you haven't seen it before, can I suggest you track down a copy at the earliest opportunity.
