I am looking for a new scent I usually wear tresor by lancome and Fancy nights by Jessica Simpson. You are so right about not bying the first thing you smell because I have some based off magazine, but they ended up smelling like roach spray on me, I have learned that my body chemistry responds to warm notes like vanilla, musk, and amber. Floral things are usually bad for me.
also, to calm ANY perfume scent down if its to strong, even if its a water scent it may sound strange, but if a perfume is to strong after you have already sprayed to much on, go over your perfume with a vanilla body spray such as victoria secret vanilla lace, i do that with a lot of my perfumes and it helps balance it out, or just to give my perfume a scent like nobody elses, it works with any perfume believe it or not from ocean scents to sweet scents. be careful w/oil streatches clothing.

what i do sometimes to keep perfume on me and make it last longer is put an oil base on my skin where i put the perfume. i use any of the following, baby oil, olive oil, vegetable oil, or any close to non scented oil from a health food store like GNC and get a pure apricot oil or almond oil....you get the point, just an oil base that wont hurt the skin or dry it out. then i spray the perfume of my choice on the oil and it last all day!
Hi Lisa! Greetings from Texas. I have a prob with perfumes lasting on my skin also and I love Versace Bright Crystal. You should smell it you won't be dissappointed. It's like heaven. I get alot of compliments on it.. Definitely a flirty scent!

Lisa, I'm a die-hard Guerlain fan, but a lovely favorite of mine is from the L'Artisan line: Mure et Musc. A blackberry musk (light on the musk, trust me) with a hint of blackberry twig/leaves is outstanding! For some reason, I associate this with The Biltmore House in NC. I think I must have worn it on my first trip to Asheville, NC. So light and so very, very French! Have you tried it? If not, try to score a sample. Aedes perfume house might send you a sample.
for perfume i have advice when it is a strong perfume its cool how your body works is your nose notices that is strong and basically after a little it send signals to your brain and blocks the scent pretty cool i learned it in my anatomy class because i LOVE strong perfume..its like when you go to a department store and smell a lot of perfumes and than after a while you can't smell them:) hope it helps dont give up (:

I just got Pink Sugar yesterday and like it very much. My favorites have been Angel by Thierry Mugler, Kim Kardashians and Brittney Spears Fantasy. I like them all because they're sweet scents. I don't care for heavy floral scents. New West is avaiable. I found it on Fragrancedotcom. I placed a bid on e-bay for it, after checking its notes on Basenotesdotcom.

I love and have loved for a long time, hard to find but some stores still has it, ebay for sure, amazon too - it is, Hugo Boss Deep Red - LOVE it... Another one that is similar to that and Viva yet a little more woman tone, Christian Audigier RED bottle with C A in gold, and you can find it anywhere. Deep Red, is a must.

I managed to get a 100ml bottle of it here in Scotland a while ago, I only use it on special occasions as I want it to last! I wish Aramis would continue making this perfume! I also love Estee Lauder Beautiful, Knowing, and Spellbound! I adore CKone, that's my all time favourite scent! Great video by the way : )

SUGGESTION you were talking about that beachy one well this is from avon its called tahitian holiday and its exactly what your describing it just smells a little like tanning lotion but it lasts untill you shower i love it you should check it out:)

Nothing lasts on me either. My signature scent used to be the original Coco by Chanel, but quit it as I've gotten older, want a more modern scent. Just can't find any that last. Thinking about original Vera Wang. I'm different though, I like stronger oriental scents, but not the 'older lady' ones. Have you tried Flower Bomb by Viktor & Rolf? It lasts, but a bit too young for me.

Yes, without a doubt! It has a little more of the Gardenia smell to it--it's actually a little "prettier"--sometimes I still catch a whiff of it in my closet where I keep my perfumes--it's wonderful! I know this video is so old, but I'm so picky and hate most perfumes and for awhile i would just wear gap heaven perfume. It's not expensive at all, like 22 bucks, not strong, and i love it. It was my fav, but I bought the sephora sampler a month ago, and I found that I only liked one perfume enough to buy. And that was Viva la juicy. I was shocked another perfume was subtle enough or maybe just good enough (but still strong) that i liked it! So......I always like the brand....and

i am american and i totally agree with you because when i used to live in England i noticed the fragrances sold there are much different and very unique and not really known to america. For some reason america is afraid to be "different" everything is the same..

Hi Lisa, thanks for the helpful video. Well I'm not a perfume expert by any means, but have noticed that some perfume seem to linger for much longer on my clothes than my skin. I heard that it's not recommended as it might stain, but I haven't had that happen yet. I wouldn't do that on white clothes though and certainly not using any perfume that has colour to it. One caution though, some perfumes are hard to get off of clothes.

LisaLisaD1, I might have a couple for you! Based on what you said about Coppertone, gardenia, and Sung, I think we have similar taste in fragrance. My current favorite: Dolce & Gabbana for women (w/ red lid) - it's strong, so you walk into it - lasts hours, a fresh floral headiness over a warmer slightly spicy base. Another is Annick Goutal Gardenia Passion - white flowers plus a soft mossiness. If you try these, let me know if you liked them! I'm going to try some you mentioned too...

No, actually I haven't tried the lotion nor the shower gel jet, but I'd give the lotion a try to begin. It's so funny you mention your husband being so sensitive to perfume b/c my husband is not so much too sensitive with my perfumes, but he smells any other perfume other than Juicy Couture and he goes...It's oook, but He Looooves Juicy original and that's all, although it's not like he hates the others. He's one of those people that owns only one perfume LOL....

I love your reviews. :) My favorites are Estee Lauder's Pleasures Exotic, DKNY Be Delicious, and Viva La Juicy. I think u should try Pleasures Exotic because it's really fruity and wonderful smelling! :D It's an Eau de Parfum so it should last kinda long.

try sisley soir de lune its lovely ..i have the same problem i can never smell scent on myself but this one i can and its the only scent i have worn and been asked what it is ..this has happened more than once especially when i wear it on the reception desk at the salon , its quite expensive but well worth it x x

Nothing lasts on me either. My signature scent used to be the original Coco by Chanel, but quit it as I've gotten older, want a more modern scent. Just can't find any that last. Thinking about original Vera Wang. I'm different though, I like stronger oriental scents, but not the 'older lady' ones. Have you tried Flower Bomb by Viktor & Rolf? It lasts, but a bit too young for me.

have you smelt burberry beat? i just got it and i love it. it smeells a bit like One Million the mens cologne at the beginning but then sets in. i love the ed hardy and daisy:0 so i dont know iff youll like this :) xx

Yes, without a doubt! It has a little more of the Gardenia smell to it--it's actually a little "prettier"--sometimes I still catch a whiff of it in my closet where I keep my perfumes--it's wonderful! The Mac fragrance with the white cap kind of reminds me of Beach--not sure why! The Bronze Goddess is really nice! HTH! :)) Thanks! Lisa

Would you happen to be interested in purchasing a "New West" 3.4 new bottle? I loved most of your recommendations and went and made a big mistake. I wasnt able to go out anywhere to test out the scent and I BOUGHT A PERFUME WITHOUT EVER SMELLING IT! Something about your description just got me "smells like watermelon". I thought I would love it but I just dont. I have ratings available on ebay and makeupalley if youre interested. Either way, thanks for your great videos.

I know this video is so old, but I'm so picky and hate most perfumes and for awhile i would just wear gap heaven perfume. It's not expensive at all, like 22 bucks, not strong, and i love it. It was my fav, but I bought the sephora sampler a month ago, and I found that I only liked one perfume enough to buy. And that was Viva la juicy. I was shocked another perfume was subtle enough or maybe just good enough (but still strong) that i liked it! So......I always like the brand....and

Hey Kimmy! This is an old vid, but my favorites are still the same--that says something! New West is the neatest fragrance--I've never had so many compliments--it's been my only "signature" scent! You can still get it online, too--I need to buy a back up bottle! Viva La Juicy is awesome--I just ordered the new Couture Couture from Sephora--the little roller ball for 20% off--yay!! Hi Lisa, thanks for the helpful video. Well I'm not a perfume expert by any means, but have noticed that some perfume seem to linger for much longer on my clothes than my skin. I heard that it's not recommended as it might stain, but I haven't had that happen yet. I wouldn't do that on white clothes though and certainly not using any perfume that has colour to it. One caution though, some perfumes are hard to get off of clothes.

LisaLisaD1, I might have a couple for you! Based on what you said about Coppertone, gardenia, and Sung, I think we have similar taste in fragrance. My current favorite: Dolce & Gabbana for women (w/ red lid) - it's strong, so you walk into it - lasts hours, a fresh floral headiness over a warmer slightly spicy base. Another is Annick Goutal Gardenia Passion - white flowers plus a soft mossiness. If you try these, let me know if you liked them! I'm going to try some you mentioned too...

I have the Aqualina Pink Sugar stuff. I use it more of a winter / night stuff because i find it very warm? smelling. Ahaha. You might like the Victoria Secret Love Spell stuff. It's fruity and light smelling. It reminds me of spring :)

No, actually I haven't tried the lotion nor the shower gel jet, but I'd give the lotion a try to begin. It's so funny you mention your husband being so sensitive to perfume b/c my husband is not so much too sensitive with my perfumes, but he smells any other perfume other than Juicy Couture and he goes...It's oook, but He Looooves Juicy original and that's all, although it's not like he hates the others. He's one of those people that owns only one perfume LOL....
