The NLR started up this whole "hate Celestia, Luna's a victim of Celestia the evil tyrant and Nightmare Moon is a misunderstood saint". @ArcaneArts Technically if the circumstances were the same as in the show, as far as the ponies themselves go, they would be classified as sentient beings thus bypassing the meaning of bestiality. To conclude; sex with your average pony is sick and wrong, but sex with one of these particular equine wonders isn't wrong, or for those of you who care a "sin", it's just really awkward.

@catrianheir Fanfics occupy an unusual place in my mind. On the one hand I believe fans can and should write stuff that meets or beats the quality of the original material and believe they should try. On the other hand, I distrust fanfictions off hand as likely being not up to par.
That said, I have read one fanfic, Creeping Darkness, and as a Alan Wake fan as well as a FiM fan, I really loved how that one worked in both regards. What's Harmony's Wrath about?
@ArcaneArts Honestly I couldn't even begin to explain it. Besides apparently when I explain things like this to people they tend to be dissuaded rather than persuaded. I'll just say that the mane6 find a book detailing the events leading to Celestia's birth or rather summoning. It flips their worldview upside down, and they aren't too happy to learn everything they know is a lie. Lots of action and adventure, trust me when I say it is up to par. It's over on FIMfiction. just try it.

Then I saw your comment on YouTube today and it was enough of a push to get me to pick it up again (thanks for that!) and finish it. I'm going to sleep now and once I get my head wrapped around this I'll get back to you.

It took me a while to realize that there was a sequel even though the author told me there was; it still just went right over my head. So yeah it's titled "Eris's Riddle", and it too is on FiMFiction. Let's just say the mane problem is a certain mischievous god, and an anonymous noblecolt who's pretty peeved at the change in lifestyles and the world in general.

I have to agree with your original statement, this story is definitely up to par! The entire story was a exciting, epic adventure, complete with a mix of raw emotion. It was interesting to see the changes of the characters throughout as they became more aggressive and determined.
@catrianheir The part I couldn't stand was when Dash was going to sacrifice herself. RD is tied as my favorite pony with Luna... go figure. When the story twisted their fates I was crushed; I was so happy for RD but felt horrible for Luna.
The epilogue brought some comfort in knowing that Celestia had existed at some point in time. The person Twilight grew up with wasn't a complete lie, but a reflection of a great queen who once existed. However, this only caused more grief for Luna :'(
@BobbyRCane I didn't expect for Dash to try that, I did however expect Luna to be the sacrifice all along which is why it threw me off when Dash volunteered. You know, Luna was the obvious choice ever since they said that the more powerful the offering the better it will be. I actually thought Luna would kinda put up a fight and they would have to hold her down to sacrifice her, but I'm glad I was wrong.
p.s. my favorite mane6 is tied between AJ and Rarity. My favorite pony is Trixie, however.
@catrianheir Yea, I guess the choice was pretty obvious. I'm also glad that she didn't put up a fight but heroically sacrificed herself. I was also consoled when she made the point that she had lived a long life and every pony she ever knew was now dead.
I still had a lot of sympathy for her though, having her sister killed so long ago and having to live a lie with no one to truly confide in. poor wuna :'(

She was thrown out a window with a nice splat on the pavement. I couldn't stop laughing. My teacher had to tell me to shut up cause I was disrupting class. My favorite Trixie moment was when she said, "I need an adult!"
@catrianheir Heh heh, that was pretty funny. I still haven't read "Eris's Riddle" yet, but I ended up reading "The Games We Play." Dang, I Thought 80k words was a lot, this one had 140k! I don't know if you're into shipping at all, (NOT clops, totally different in my mind) but this is by far the best one that I've read to date.
It's a long read, but it wasn't filler, had good character development, didn't rush the ending, and gave a satisfying close.
@BobbyRCane Yeah I'm into shipping a bit and I can appreciate a good copfic here and there; it passes the down time in class. But romance isn't normally my thing. I like Silent Ponyville and I'm reading Silent Ponyville 2. I'm not a fan of Cupcakes, Sweet Apple Massacre, or Rarity's New Dress.( those were some of the 1st fics I read. Yeah, I threw up and took a 5 hour shower after the dress thing.) Scootabuse is alright I guess.

@BlueBadazzeled Actually, the stars are likely just as static in Equestria as they are here on Earth. Celestia moves the sun, and Luna the moon, though I'm sure they both are capable of moving either. You just can't see the stars well during the day due to the brightness from the daylight.
Either way, Celestia already proven she can control both day and night during the 1000 period Luna was away. ;P

@catrianheir Fanfics occupy an unusual place in my mind. On the one hand I believe fans can and should write stuff that meets or beats the quality of the original material and believe they should try. On the other hand, I distrust fanfictions off hand as likely being not up to par.
That said, I have read one fanfic, Creeping Darkness, and as a Alan Wake fan as well as a FiM fan, I really loved how that one worked in both regards. What's Harmony's Wrath about?

@ArcaneArts Honestly I couldn't even begin to explain it. Besides apparently when I explain things like this to people they tend to be dissuaded rather than persuaded. I'll just say that the mane6 find a book detailing the events leading to Celestia's birth or rather summoning. It flips their worldview upside down, and they aren't too happy to learn everything they know is a lie. Lots of action and adventure, trust me when I say it is up to par. It's over on FIMfiction. just try it.

I started the story last week but had to put it down for some shorter ones (this is the longest one I've read so far). Then I saw your comment on YouTube today and it was enough of a push to get me to pick it up again (thanks for that!) and finish it. I'm going to sleep now and once I get my head wrapped around this I'll get back to you.

@BobbyRCane Yeah man think on it. Before I forget (not that I could) there is a sequel. It took me a while to realize that there was a sequel even though the author told me there was; it still just went right over my head. So yeah it's titled "Eris's Riddle", and it too is on FiMFiction. Let's just say the mane problem is a certain mischievous god, and an anonymous noblecolt who's pretty peeved at the change in lifestyles and the world in general.

I have to agree with your original statement, this story is definitely up to par! The entire story was a exciting, epic adventure, complete with a mix of raw emotion. It was interesting to see the changes of the characters throughout as they became more aggressive and determined.

@catrianheir The part I couldn't stand was when Dash was going to sacrifice herself. RD is tied as my favorite pony with Luna... go figure. When the story twisted their fates I was crushed; I was so happy for RD but felt horrible for Luna.
The epilogue brought some comfort in knowing that Celestia had existed at some point in time. The person Twilight grew up with wasn't a complete lie, but a reflection of a great queen who once existed. However, this only caused more grief for Luna :'(

@BobbyRCane I didn't expect for Dash to try that, I did however expect Luna to be the sacrifice all along which is why it threw me off when Dash volunteered. You know, Luna was the obvious choice ever since they said that the more powerful the offering the better it will be. I actually thought Luna would kinda put up a fight and they would have to hold her down to sacrifice her, but I'm glad I was wrong.
p.s. my favorite mane6 is tied between AJ and Rarity. My favorite pony is Trixie, however.

@catrianheir Yea, I guess the choice was pretty obvious. I'm also glad that she didn't put up a fight but heroically sacrificed herself. I was also consoled when she made the point that she had lived a long life and every pony she ever knew was now dead.
I still had a lot of sympathy for her though, having her sister killed so long ago and having to live a lie with no one to truly confide in. poor wuna :'(
Now I'm going to have to check out "Eris's Riddle." :D

@BobbyRCane Srry this took so long, broken mouse and whatnot. To answer your question: I thought her, as you put it, "fate" was freakin hilarious! She was thrown out a window with a nice splat on the pavement. I couldn't stop laughing. My teacher had to tell me to shut up cause I was disrupting class. My favorite Trixie moment was when she said, "I need an adult!"

@catrianheir Heh heh, that was pretty funny. I still haven't read "Eris's Riddle" yet, but I ended up reading "The Games We Play." Dang, I Thought 80k words was a lot, this one had 140k! I don't know if you're into shipping at all, (NOT clops, totally different in my mind) but this is by far the best one that I've read to date.
It's a long read, but it wasn't filler, had good character development, didn't rush the ending, and gave a satisfying close.

@BobbyRCane Yeah I'm into shipping a bit and I can appreciate a good copfic here and there; it passes the down time in class. But romance isn't normally my thing. I like Silent Ponyville and I'm reading Silent Ponyville 2. I'm not a fan of Cupcakes, Sweet Apple Massacre, or Rarity's New Dress.( those were some of the 1st fics I read. Yeah, I threw up and took a 5 hour shower after the dress thing.) Scootabuse is alright I guess.

@BlueBadazzeled Actually, the stars are likely just as static in Equestria as they are here on Earth. Celestia moves the sun, and Luna the moon, though I'm sure they both are capable of moving either. You just can't see the stars well during the day due to the brightness from the daylight.
Either way, Celestia already proven she can control both day and night during the 1000 period Luna was away. ;P
