@purple91gsr - Nope, they do not actually have Chev motors. They're just a generic GM motor - first fitted to another GM brand, and subsequently fitted to several. Chevrolet is just one of those. By definition, it is without sense to put a 'bowtie' badge on a Holden and in any way claim you or your car are special or specially related to the Chevrolet brand. Whilst to those who know better the badge bandit will reveal themselves to be a bit superficial and dim, it is essentially harmless :-)

@hsvlover88 GMH is american, Holdens motor body works owned by GM since 1965. "Holden" sounds better than GM Australia which it actually is. The Lion logo is great, an animal from africa lol.

interesting vid. the ford was noticeably quicker the second time and yet they are both auto's, maybe with the second race being later into the night cooler air was a big factor. looked like the big v8 was quicker out the blocks than the turbo, then the turbo surged ahead at the end with its 50kw extra power... be interested to see the same again but maybe closer in the kilowatt department....

The only car i have ever sat in for hours strait and not felt completely shit when i got out was a VP a VT and a VS, havnt been for any long drives in anything else but a BA. i was in drivers seat 1 hour 20 mins my arse and whole right leg was numb, there was notwhere for me to rest my foot? WTF ford?, besides the aircon the Trip was awful.

It is appropriate that the commodore was green. remember the movie the Green Mile? The guy in the ute, that would probably weigh a 200 kgs less than the Falcon must've felt that he was going to the gallows. All you Ford fans need to bear in mind that the F6 has 50kw more than the SS. Also you just cant beat forced induction. If both cars had the same power the turbo would still win and as much as it hurts to say, [ the wife and I both have V8 Commodores ] Ford has the faster product and will only get further ahead with the coyote motor. Also with good air the F6 310 will run a low 12. I race the Fast Fridays at the Motorplex and have seen this many times and she is a lovely lady to boot!

also lol at random chaps on here saying inline 6 is old technology. It's an inherently superior engine design to a v6 as it's naturally perfectly balanced. Alot of companies use a v6 purely because it's more compact in size -it's harder to fit an inline 6 in the nose of a car. The Falcon 6 has all the bells and whistles of modern engines. 4 cylinder cars always use an inline 4 design because they don't have to worry amout physical size constraints.
@MechTech82 Anything before the 1997 VT II was a 5.0 lit Holden V8, The VT II onwards are all imported Chevs. I also stuck Chev badges on my old Clubby, just personal preference as the Chev V8 is way more powerful & Torquey + sounds tougher too. Either way , they should have compared this SS Ute with a Ford XR8 Ute, not an F6 !
@MechTech82 I can tell you i've owned both Holden & Ford V8's for over 20 years. Technology has changed so much. The HSV V8 definitely out does the FPV V8 (HSV being the larger capacity). I own an F6 atm purely because it outperforms most if not all V8's while delivering 7.5 lit / 100 kms cruising (have posted vids) , however it is TURBO CHARGED, huge advantage over a N/A engine.

interesting vid. the ford was noticeably quicker the second time and yet they are both auto's, maybe with the second race being later into the night cooler air was a big factor. looked like the big v8 was quicker out the blocks than the turbo, then the turbo surged ahead at the end with its 50kw extra power... be interested to see the same again but maybe closer in the kilowatt department....

The only car i have ever sat in for hours strait and not felt completely shit when i got out was a VP a VT and a VS, havnt been for any long drives in anything else but a BA. i was in drivers seat 1 hour 20 mins my arse and whole right leg was numb, there was notwhere for me to rest my foot? WTF ford?, besides the aircon the Trip was awful.

It is appropriate that the commodore was green. remember the movie the Green Mile? The guy in the ute, that would probably weigh a 200 kgs less than the Falcon must've felt that he was going to the gallows. Good to see the Chevrolet badges on it though, as all Holden people must be so proud of their product that they like to hide its heritage and hang off the coat tails of another over hyped product. All you Ford fans need to bear in mind that the F6 has 50kw more than the SS. Also you just cant beat forced induction. If both cars had the same power the turbo would still win and as much as it hurts to say, [ the wife and I both have V8 Commodores ] Ford has the faster product and will only get further ahead with the coyote motor. Also with good air the F6 310 will run a low 12. I race the Fast Fridays at the Motorplex and have seen this many times and she is a lovely lady to boot!

The factory holden badge is massive and detracts from the look of the vehicle the chevy badge is smaller and suits the vehicle more. also lol at random chaps on here saying inline 6 is old technology. It's an inherently superior engine design to a v6 as it's naturally perfectly balanced. Alot of companies use a v6 purely because it's more compact in size -it's harder to fit an inline 6 in the nose of a car. The Falcon 6 has all the bells and whistles of modern engines. 4 cylinder cars always use an inline 4 design because they don't have to worry amout physical size constraints.

@MechTech82 Anything before the 1997 VT II was a 5.0 lit Holden V8, The VT II onwards are all imported Chevs. I also stuck Chev badges on my old Clubby, just personal preference as the Chev V8 is way more powerful & Torquey + sounds tougher too. Either way , they should have compared this SS Ute with a Ford XR8 Ute, not an F6 !

@MechTech82 I can tell you i've owned both Holden & Ford V8's for over 20 years. Technology has changed so much. The HSV V8 definitely out does the FPV V8 (HSV being the larger capacity). I own an F6 atm purely because it outperforms most if not all V8's while delivering 7.5 lit / 100 kms cruising (have posted vids) , however it is TURBO CHARGED, huge advantage over a N/A engine.
