The shape of such a distant light is not going to be rendered by an ordinary digital camera, and what you are seeing is merely an artefact of pixel saturation. Its a distant light, a point source, which seems to be flashing and is most probably a distant plane/helicopter light. "Unvelievable" you say - you're right, I don't believe you.....

It looks like it is just a star. If you have a camcorder, try to shoot a star and it will turn into a daimond shape as you zoom in. That's what happened to camcorder.

Films a known star or a distant streetlamp, zooming right into these lights... All he has to do then is post the results for all to see, and if I'm wrong, I'll be the one eating humble pie, won't I?
Sorry to rain on your parade folks, but that's the aperture mask of the video camera at full zoom that's causing the diamond shape...
If you need proof, just take your camera out again at night, and film a known star, or even a distant street lamp - zoom right in and you'll see the same shape. :)
Great footage, but are you sure it wasn't a helicopter? I've seen some people record objects in the sky from far distances and the objects appear as diamonds.

It looks like it is just a star. If you have a camcorder, try to shoot a star and it will turn into a daimond shape as you zoom in. That's what happened to camcorder.

The lens is making it look like a diamond due to distortion. Happens with a lot of cameras....sorry guys:-(
