A guy at my school last year had a john petrucci guitar. he let me use it to play shine on you crazy diamond at a concert (the tuners on my epiphone les paul were shit quality and it kept going out of tune in the solos). it had a great sound for the song, and is easily the nicest guitar i've played.

i have a question if anyone will answer.... how much better in tone and comfort is a BFR compared to a non BFR? I'm trying to decide whether or not it's worth it to save up an extra thousand.

@TheNosnawS This has a little bit of a warmer sound. The BFR is brighter sounding. I prefer this one because I like basswood guitars. The BFR has easier access to higher frets but the horns look a little uneven because of this. The BFR has the wood grain finishes when this doesn't. I like both. This has an unfinished back of the neck and the BFR has a finished back of the neck. The gloss just feels nice but when your hands start to sweat and play fast I like the unfinished neck. You decide!
