Um, whats the point of this video? Creationists already know it's stupid to claim apple pie evolved. That's why they were comparing it to evolution. Aren't you just sorta doing their analogies for them?
Hello, thanks for your comment, but you forgot to subscribe too. :)
I have no idea what I could have called the species name for other desserts. I could have expanded this video in a lot of areas, but I felt I picked the best parts.
Well done, I watched the vid you are commenting on and I must say, well done. I almost raged my way through its comments, but I think there's no need, your talk of pie has soothed me.
Thanks. You know, believe it or not I based this on some facts about apple pie. A couple hundred years ago, sugar was a luxury so apple pies where made without it. So modern pies are indeed sweeter!
Well done JR Chadwick. I just cant believe how ignorant so many people are about one of the most basic subjects in Middleschool Biology. Whats more astounding is that sooo many of these people are on youtube flaunting their ignorance, and by definition are completely unaware of how stupid they make themselves seem. I wish I was better at making videos because I would love to attack this subject. Keep em comming my friend!
However you must beware, some wild apples are sharp. Some people like to use a Pie gun- it evolved from the elephant gun that some African elephants give birth to.
I've been on many a Pie hunt, and only once (in Zimbabwe) did we actually manage to catch one. We trapped it, but the damn thing broke loose using its fierce teeth.
Great job, JR. Its interesting that she says her bread theory is as stupid as the theory of evolution. If thats the case, why didnt she just make a video about the theory of evolution? Presumably because once you start looking at inheritance, variation and natural selection, the theory of evolution doesnt look quite so stupid.
Don't you know that bread used to roam the Great Plains of North America hundreds of years ago!? They were truely a majestic herd. It's a shame you're so ignorant, and this video only further solidifies my statement.
Oooooo! Maybe advanced artificial selection could lead to a cow giving birth to a burger! YUMMY! LOL! Kidding. But, what would that do for future generations? o_O
good video! imformative and funny at the same time. also how did apple pie become so associated with america? its like the most traditional british dish ever!!
I was thinking that the creationists will cut and paste your video. Hell, if they believed the first video about bread, they'll believe this video about apple pie for the same reasons!
What about a video showing how a volcano is 100% scientific proof of a volcanist, and that plate tectonics is total bullshit?
One could argue that selective breeding by humans doesn't really differ from any other kind of selection. The details of the process do differ, but in the end, they benefit from being desirable to grow in the same sense as another plant might benefit from attracting pollinators.
Which is precisely my point. Through the rules of evolution humans manipulated the genetic outcome of a plant and caused it to speciate. It's driven evolution
I thought an evolution of the food called apple pie would have been better. What pies came before apple, cherry or meat. What before that flaky bread with seasonings. What before that breads cut and covered in various foods.
Do you get what I'm saying? liked your video and i think you got the idea that making bread is not the same as the evolution of bread. I just think a better example could be made to simplify things. like the evolution of breads and all the dif breads which exist.
I thought about going farther with this, but I ended up cutting parts out because I thought it was boring. There are a lot of ways I could have expanded, but I felt to much detail would have spoiled the joke.
oh please, we've had the brick factory already! What's the next strawman? The Chupachup factory? blah blah blah scientists belive blah blah blah formed a Chupachup lollipop blah blah blah aren't they stupid for believing such nonsense.
Hang on if this prophecy comes true then I am the new Messiah!
and yeah you indeed made the same point a little later on (lol the designer analogy ticks me of so bad that I can't even wait to respond) guess you'd be the new messiah :P Oh well....
Heard from a creationist - "Honey! I'm taking my M16 and go shoot us an apple pie for dinner Maybe I can bag myself a hot dog to, but they runs so fast. Later."
Very similar to VFX's "evolution of utensils" argument. Take similar non-living, non-self-replicating items (forks and spoons or wheat, dough and bread), and claim that evolutionary theory predicts these non-reproducing items most have evolved from one another. Then ridicule the fictional position you have created for your opponent.
Um, whats the point of this video? Creationists already know it's stupid to claim apple pie evolved. That's why they were comparing it to evolution. Aren't you just sorta doing their analogies for them?

Yeah, it's me. 'Sup?

over the process if bilons? She wrote bilons? She can't even spell. Then she compares living self replicating things to mechanics?
She is one of those characters in the movie "Idiocracy" and lives on flavored drinks because it gives you electrolytes.

She wrote, "billons". I noted it in an annotation. Thanks for pointing that out.

Its ironic that they keep going on about wheat which is such a clear cut example of evolution

Actually, wheat is an example of artificial breeding. It was one of the first organisms to be selectively bred by humans.

Correction: Wheat is living and can replicate. Although dough contains yeast, the dough itself is non-living and cannot replicate.
