This proves there is no unemployment problem in this country. To all the "over educated" dweebs-Go to Lowes, buy a ladder and a torch, learn to do this and you can eat forever.
@0790rob your a retard i look at two videos and u b ash talk both lets see your vids bud see how shit you are. reject get a damn job u green little shit
This guy doesn't have clue. Looks cold out. Not preheating selvage, roll isn't tight , bleed is weak, base sheet fastened wrong. APP is a very good built up roof option when installed properly, unfortunately everyone that can afford a torch thinks they can install it.
@abby2ela your right budd i run 10 felt gangs in london if i saw this standard i would sack the lot of them it looks like that the standard in the US and other countries is not like the UK
@roofingable well it's not the standard by any means, but unfortunately this is how its done by many. It has given torch down a bad rap in a lot of cases. So whats business like these days for you in the UK.
@abby2ela yea really good lots of snow so all tools are down at the moment.looking to start some large roofs after the xmas ,what part of the world are you from US, NZ
UNDERLAYMENT FELT SUPPOSE TO BE NAILED WITH 1 1/2" SIMPLEX FASTENERS, 2" OR 3" GVL PLATES SCREW DOWN PROCESS DEPENDING ON MATERIAL BRAND,NO WITH TIN CAPS. ALSO I CAN'T SEE NAILS ON TINCAPS ONLY A STAPLE.
It's clear where the roof edge is and that they're starting from the bottom. Problem is there's 2 boobs doing one man's job. More importantly, the seam isn't being welded properly and this roof IS going to leak very soon. The torch is too weak which means either the tank is frozen up or it's almost out of gas.
"Human Torch" is too dopey to know better than to post this vid and expose his complete lack of understanding for this application. DO NOT HIRE THIS OUTFIT!
Agreed man . I've only been on one job with this app. You need more bleeding ... Might as well do a rubber job and just prime the seams no need for tape or splicing glue !!! LOL I found a 80 ft wall done like this once came down told them a found the leak within 2 minutes of setting up .
RUBBER roof...had a client call yesterday to look at his 2 year old 'rubber' roof ..installed just like this one...leaks everywhere and the 'contractor' gone.
@bobmcalister yes I know it's not a rubber roof I was saying they might as well of turned it into one LOL ... (Modified rubber/Asphalt with granules "A Torchdown system ) ... A lot of people think they know what they are doing but DONT! Even the firestone rep in my region is quite something else ... I'm a single ply guy and only been doing this commercial for 2.5 years ... Well I hope it wasn't a big project ... take it ez and stay cool
and another thing...how are you starting from the edge of the roof? where are the drains? i hope there is a pitch going towards the edge otherwise your seams are on the wrong side
wow wat a beautiful roof..nothing in the way except that one vent pipe i can do that in half day all by myself...and u need to burn the seam way more than that loll like the guy sed under me that roof is deffinately going to leak and you need to shake ur propane a lil bit the torch got no power lol good luck
When I am torching by hand I always torch 3/4 of the roll then go back and torch down the side lap and trowel it in. On a job this size you should be using a dragon wagon.
again putting this stuff on backwards ,,, air pockets when you do it this way and cannot see the beads under the roll .. This would be ok if he was following a "mop" application...
Making the rest of us look like retards... guy in green , well every crew has got a arse sniffer,,. that`s is role in life .. Get to work , porky!!!
at least you're about the right speed, not like some others idiots showing here on YouTube, make your torch go in a T pattern on the lap side and the guy in the green shirt can go do something else. Nice job ahead of you
