25 years ago my life brought me here. This song is so much my generation. Riding the train, inside outside leave me alone. London to Brighton out of your brain
Hello there music appreciator. I know this looks like spam But PLEASE HEAR ME OUT
-Do bluesy bands likes Zeppelin, Floyd, Joplin, Doors, Hendrix, and The Who give you chills? Are you physically attracted to seeking truth in music? Well I am formally inviting you to take a listen to my channel, Using your open mind take the time to hear my tunes.. your subscribtion to my channel will help me show the world my music. Much Love.
I was high on shrooms leaving Amsterdam for Berlin on the train with my woman. A business type (in MY seat) gave me a lecture about smoking. I said "sorry mate but this a is a smoking compartment. And, by the way, you're sitting in my seat." I'm not that glad about pissing nice dutch people off. It's a cool country
i was jimmy at 16, a crazy kid who did it all, my mum said to me on my 21 birthday that she thought i'd never make it this far ! i'm pushing 60 now but jimmy's still lurking in the background, sometimes we go out together thank christ !
there are no words to describe Keith Moons drumming, its all like Mozart, perfect! Pete Townsend is a genious, They were perfect! I'm drunk! and they continue to quiz me if I'm human!!! Those stupid can you read this tests!!!!
I worked at a diesel depot where the deltic loco`s were kept. I once had a cab ride from Kings Cross to Leeds and the driver, who i knew well, let me open the nose doors and sit in front of the cab window at 100 mph ( well before H&S and overhead electrification) and this was going through my head while i clung on.....what a rush
"out of my brain on a train .."... aaah ; those good ole timez when you could just roll a FAT one and SMOKE IT on those loooong trainrides...( eh , in Holland that was ! )
Greatest album of all time im 16 and i beg my friends to listen to this, theres no reason to listen to matt cardle or the x factor when heres musc like this in the world. Pete Townshend is the greatest composer of all time, better than mozart and should be remembered in 100's of years for masterpieces like this and Tommy
blues are speed...what a fucking idiot...don't ever start taking drugs davehoward...u'd be dead in a year!!!
blues are valium/diazepam...speed..lol
u take them to come off class A's u moron...though mix them with a bottle of neat gin, like our Jim here and u'll get a similar effect to what u've just been watching!!!
i never would have discovered this song if i hadn't clicked on one of those suggestions. now I wish I'd discovered it when i first started listening to The Who.
Thanks for the info. It sounds like my life. the wrong women can pull your life apart. If I was in jimmys shoes I be doing the same thing drinking and druggiing and crashing scooters or cars or whatever i caould get my hands on!
In the film Jimmy's life falls apart , the girl he loves goes off with his best friend, his parents kick him out , sacked from his job and he crashes his scooter and he has a total meltdown. He buys a massive amount of speed and gets the train back to brighton where it was all great for him (out of my brain on the train)
God this takes me back , i was an 80s Mod wish it had been back in the 60's. i'm sure loads of my friends would remember me dress as one lol wouldn't go anywhere without my parka .
I want to be like Jimmy . al I nned is a Gs vespa 150 cc and I a new set of cloths then ala Frtankie of Boston the nerw Mod in town. A hot blond on the back and I will be complete. I will starat saving now for next summer. !!!!
@StNige The 2 people that dislike this are probably the 2 old bastards that are reading the paper on both sides of him, Poor Jimmy needed to find a better seat, Ive been like jimmy too still am sometimes. ROCK ON dude still a great song anyway-
@iainferg85 haha I bought a real parker yrs ago .. me mum made me put it in the shed till I got it dry cleaned incase I got scabbies .. cost me to have that done .. then I couldn'nt wear it .. its just too dam heavy
@StNige agreed, i too was jimmy at that age, no idea what i was doing or where i was going . i had an identity but did not know where it belonged - an absolute scorcher of a film that i never tire of watching
this has to be one of the best songs ever. thank you for puting this up good video beter then the ones you get just of one photo.the 1st time i watched this film i was like why did he frow his parka out the windo and then i relised he did not love his parka i want it to get could or rain soon so i can put on my parka!!!!!!!!
I have a perfect Gatefold album in a protected wrapper, and then I have another one that I read and play. This is one of these albums that is better on a turntable with all the cracks and noise. It's the way it was, and frankly, it's probably the way it should be. Sometimes its best just to give up on progress.... digital is just another seduction, making everything easier where a person has less and less to do with the process. Quadrophenia is the best. Quadrophenia is analog.
IM 15 and fist watched this movie at about age 5/6 since then ive worn out 2 videos and 1 dvd and my second dvds got a little worn itself. I think its fair to say ive watched this film a couple of hundred times, ive also seen the musicle version - writen by Peter Townhend. There for it would also be fair to say that this film has influenced me towards an amazing range of music, an amazing style and brilliant childhood.
could you music lovers give my video some feedback??? its a huge drum compilation and I need some comments on it, i've put together some of the greatest Drum songs in rock n roll and i made the vid like 2 days ago...soo yea look forward to it!!peazc

I live in wales were back in eighties there was an exodus of people who come out here to sort of "get there back in to there living" anyway i was working for a cockney chap who had some horses and on this paticular day Roger another cockney chap who i knew was at the smallholding, they sort of introduced each other and then started to reminiss.. they were both mods up west and hammersmith.. it was like being in quadrophenia they were loving the reminiss..
When I was in Liverpool riding the trains to here and there, I watched the same thing. Kids getting loaded and riding the train. They would laugh and have a good time, and if someone asked em to quite down, they would. Here in Vallejo CA if you asked you would get shot. really.

When I was in Liverpool riding the trains to here and there, I watched the same thing. Kids getting loaded and riding the train. They would laugh and have a good time, and if someone asked em to quite down, they would. Here in Vallejo CA if you asked you would get shot. really.
