  • I love this kind of music!!!!

  • Who produced this? Did TCQ crib this beat and re-badge it as 'Electric Relaxation' or was it cribbed by Intelligent Hoodlum? Who was first?

  • Correction: I meant 'Lyrics to Go'

  • Hell yea video music box was my shit .... I never get tired of this song

  • return of the style!!!

  • I remember watching this as a kid on video music box.....good time! Thx grandgood

  • He goes almost as hard as tribe. But big L is the shit!

  • Who came out first with this sample, Tribe or this???

  • this shit is a banger...

  • This is so New York

  • 1:43 to 2:09 A young producer L.E.S (Former Trackmaster)

  • this is probably the best hip hop sampled beat ever. Tribe called quest: lyrics to go uses the same sample and that song is lovely too.

  • Who knew that the director of this video (David Dobkin) and two 2Pac videos ("I Get Around" and "Keep Ya Head Up") would go on to direct "Shanghai Noon" and "Wedding Crashers"??? LOL!!!

  • Welcome home tragedy khadafi

  • Tragedy was ahead of his time, no doubt. If Nas didn't over shadow him, there's no telling what could have happened

  • @ThanosByNight Yo, u said it best!

  • Tragedy rapped about things that relate to people. A real soul brother. In my opinnion, hes one of the best to do it.

  • he coulda been even more successful if not for his passion for the street...One of the realest ever. This nigga had the knowledge tho to stay out of trouble..but i feel him shit is hard to break old habits

  • anyone know where you can get the lyrics for this, I can only find the album versions!!?

  • TIMELESS CLASSIC

  • did freddie gibbs sample this shit in iodine poisoning?

  • my nigga trag always had smooth samples.. i remember he sampled patrice rushen - remind me... on grand groove... which is something i always wanted to do.. but much respect..

  • Keep it real

  • i want to know lyrics in hook.

    what does he say?

  • he says ....chelseaikedachelsea is gay..real real gay, chelseaikedachelsea is gay..real real gay

  • cuz it's tha story of pain

    sunshine and rain

    as the world turns

    the life remains the same

    return of the life

  • anyway i can get the instrumental of this jaunt?

  • this song is sick

  • Thank you for the reminessences

  • Damn!! next to the

"tribe " no one got the most out of this Minnie riperton beat.

  • yeh yeh boi, real respect for real hip hop, big luv from aussie mate.

  • Amazing song, this was how good rap and hip hop was!! Now.....pffhh!

  • what! what! what....!! you know real hip hop.old schoolsazo..representin!!

  • Yeah Tragedy u are a real hip hop for real yo.. !!

  • This man invented the intelligent/gangsta style that nas used so well. he is in my top 5 emcees of all time, if you dont know about it you better ask somebody

  • This nikka rite here is the only rapper in QB that could rip Nas lyrically. Forget the record sales. Forget who made or makes more money. All of that is irrelevant.

Give em both a mic and a beat, Tragedy is ripping Nas lyrically.

  • real hip hop forever 90's hip hop 4 ever

  • Haha WORD!

  • Man!!!!!!!! This was my jam, it reminds me of back in the days... Real Hiphop

  • That 3rd verse is what old school is all about.

  • man i always love this song

  • hey look its tragedy khadafi

  • whoopdy fukkin doo lol

  • Shiiiit.

Realization of the truth hits you in the face hard.

    Lessons learned.

  • lagrimitas, sunshine and rain.

  • CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISM

    Positives:

    1) Quintessentially NY hip hop. (If Fort Greene, Bed Stuy, Red Hook or any similar NY urban neighbourhood had a sound, this would be it.)

    2) Thoughtful lyrics.

    Negative:

    1) Sounds dated. (Unlike A Tribe Called Quest's use of the sample in their song, which is timeless.)

  • thats because it IS dated

  • shut your face.

    hip hop lives.

    promote it.

  • thank you...

  • This video is the truth!

  • I love hip hop too bad it die

  • real shit nyc all day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • reality hip hop

  • finnaly

    some good hiphop.

  • real hiphop.

    not lil wayne bullshit.

  • Cool song!! This is real hip hop!!

  • a piece of real hip hop.

  • Love that lyrics to go from a tribe called quest in the background, real shit right here...

  • this video reminds me of that film in to deep with llcoolj

  • this song got heart

  • haha that looks like aries spears from mad tv..

    dosent it?

  • I'd love for this type of vibe to come back but since "Hip-Hop" is now controlled by corporations I doubt they'll promote anything of sense relating to minorities. We gotta keep Superman-ing and pushing bricks till we sittin' high on 24's while showing our grills.

  • Great story tellin in this one

  • yeh hip hop changed when they started giving some people millions to start they own label hip for me started in 79 and ended when them flashy suits took charge... and this guy is way deeper than ll cool j with all due respect to ll tragedy writes all his ryhmes

  • dj456.podomatic for ma real heads check the tunes old school true school

  • ok i thought it was marly marl that did this thx for the heads up diggin

  • This is another K-def Classic, this man can do no wrong on prod.

    Tragedy at his best!

  • bangin this shit out here in iceland! haha word

  • I'm 15 years old, and this is the kind of hip-hop I can listen to over and over again! just found out about this song, and already love it. and yes, A tribe called quest used minnie's sample, too, and they rock, but this guy used the sample a little better (it's more catchy). 5/5 stars and favorite :) This kind of hip-hop will one day return. Keep faith...

  • hawt!

  • this guy could b ll cool js long lost brotherlol. 92 to 98 was when real hip hop existed

  • id have to say 88 to 94..although there wuz ill shyt cummin out til 96

  • thats marly marl on production

  • That's K-Def on production

  • he does kind of sound like ll cool j in his earlier days, but there both from queens so maybe that has something to do with it, classsic song

  • Old, but damn, I miss this.

    Let's bring it back.

    -> A. Nihilist

  • a tribe called quest used this very same beat in their second album. it was a hot song but intelligent hoodlum did a much better job with it. man i miss the 90s!

  • @ESCOXTC

    'third' album. not their 2nd.

  • As a teenage girl watching I always felt proud to be a hip hop fan when watching this track and not just a h** or ****

  • This song is a cllllaaasssiccc!- before Hype Williams and "diamonds on ma ne-neck" arrived. Such a good use of the Minnie Ripperton smaple.... his lyrics are just so simple but effective. I was 14 when this dropped and it still stands alone.

  • life hop is dead now there is rap. :(

  • i agree totally HardBodyNyC never hear rhymes like these no more.

  • LL cool j? What the fuck are you talking about? 88 - 98 after that rap is dead.

  • this guy reminds me of ll cool j

  • I used to love this song. A classic.

  • Definitely Classic Hip Hop at its best, Tradgedy Khadafi at his best QB's finest. I never knew until now that hes been around for a long time doing his thang. This uses a sample of the song "Inside My Love" by Minnie Ripperton, also used by Nas & Dr Dre: Everyday Thang"

  • best use of this break to be found on midnight marauders LP by tribe called quest!!

  • the bridge.

  • Tight!!

  • damn i aint heard dis shit in a hella long time

  • damn good shit, long time since i heard anything up to this quality

  • yah it is kinda like paris dayz of old thats anouther good old track this is real rap no bling no hos just real shit now dayz rappers come out already bling bling who cares about your bling good for u lets take it back to the old school

  • It reminds me of "Paris - Days of old"; another depressing video talking about inner city life. They don't have the scene where the razor blade drops out of her hands onto the floor.... I guess this is an alternate version.

  • i think this version is way better than the album's

  • HIP-HOP

  • Classic Hip Hop. Is uses a sample of the song "Inside My Love" by Minnie Ripperton, also used by Tribe Called Quest on "Lyrics to go" TRUE HIP HOP!!

  • hey fuck this is new york at its finest. it's refreshing to hear some real hip hop with all the bullshit out there today. Tragedy is street cautious while still keepin it street

  • damn this the first time i heard this song, yet it still makes me nostalgic for some reason
